I got a call and he said his name was Ron Adams and he worked for the South Carolina Department of Unemployment and wanted me to return his call at extension 1002.  He said someone was trying to use my SSN to fraudently get unemployment bennefits but the name he gave me was not my own (wrong middle initial etc).  It is a scam.

Keeps saying that his name is Ron Adams and that someone is trying to use my son's social security number to receive unemployment benefits. Said he was calling from out of Colorado and on one other occasion he said he was calling from out of Nashville, Tenn.

Same scam happened to me. They called my grandfather in Oklahoma and gave Ron Adams their "KEYWORD" and a different extension and said that someone was trying to fraudulently get unemployment benefits in Texas on my SSN.  They are 100%, Grade "AAA" Bull S#it.  Keep in mind if you call a free 800, 866, 877, 888 number that they pay for the call, so they get your incoming number.  Call them and they will call you 10 times a day until you pay!

Got the same treatment in GA.  They called relatives in Oklahoma and said that someone was trying to illegally use my SSN to gain unemployment benefits in Texas. They gave the same name and a different extension, so the name Ron Adams is the keyword.  KEEP IN MIND THAT ON A 800, 866, 877, 888 CALL THEY ARE PAYING FOR THE CALL SO THEY GET YOUR NUMBER EVEN IF YOU HAVE IT BLOCKED!!!  Surest way to get 10 computerized calls a day is to call this number!!! Two a$$holes even showed up dressed descent at my dad's home and said the same thing.  He told them to hit the bricks.  DO NOT CALL OR YOU WILL PAY ONE WAY OR THE OTHER!!!

guy said he was unemployment in Colorado and someone using my SS number. Called the Unemployment office in Colorado and they had no idea who he was and are going to have their Security Department look into. So basically regardless of why he called this guy is impersonating government officials and I wonder if it should be reported to the FBI as well in that case.

Got a voicemail from this guy a few days ago. He said his name was Ron and that he wan in the HR dept. of the Orlando Unemployment office, and that someone was trying to use my social security number to get unemployment benefits fraudulently. Called back the number, and you can tell it has nothing to do with a state or government office. Glad I called off hours and didn't talk to anyone! What a scam.

Said he was with fraud unit of un-employment. to contact ron adama at ext 2119.  This is bull crap.  this guy is a investigator attempting to get you to call back so he can use caller ID to get a address on you.  He works for bank card companys so you most likly are way behind in payments.  If you call back, even if you are unlisted,  you will be served with a civil action law suit  for money being owed.

Did you ever find out who it really was?  I gotta call like that yesterday.  Kinda freaked me out!!
