Not just the "suspect" stamp -- the more definitive "busted" one!

Debt is civil, not criminal, so no, it's not a crime to default on a loan.  Having said that, NEVER pay any caller who refuses to identify themselves - company name, mailing and physical address - and who refuse to MAIL documentation proving you owe a debt and they have the legal right to collect said debt.  Report the callers to the FTC, FBI, Dept of Justice and your state's Attorney General.  You have rights as a consumer under the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practices Act).

I'm sure in your parallel universe where Hitler lived to be 86 and Einstein was shot dead before clearing the German border, people go to jail for payday loan defaults. Where we live in America, that notion is an illegal threat made by extortionists dressed up as debt collectors, making your doomcrying pure fantasy. Let's see if Admin feels like inking the "suspect" stamp for you.

this is not a scam about 6 months ago I received the same call from a financial crime services stating that I was being prosecuted for a payday loan. There are so many scams out there now so I didn't believe it. Honestly I was rude and refused the class and to payback merchant. Well now I wish I have of, because I had to bond out of jail, now paying court fees three times the check also looking at possible charges that can stay with me the rest of my life and affect me getting a job. So if you ever receive a call my advice is to just pay it. IT's not worth it.

This is a scam collection agency. They called my Mother claiming to be an investigation unit and I was in a lot of trouble. Clearly, bottom feeders.
