Liz 2011-10-12 17:06:44 Telemarketer
I got a VM this morning from them and called the call back number. They answered that they were a company called Consumer Debt and that they were trying to help people lower the interest rate on their credit cards. She asked if I was paying more than 1.25% on my credit cards, and I responded that I did not have a credit card. She said she would take my number and forward it to customer service to be removed from the list of people to call.

EVERYONE CAN STOP THIS. BLOW UP THEIR PHONE. IF EVERYONE JUST STARTS CONTINUOUSLY CALLING THEM BACK THEY WILL HAVE TO CHANGE THEIR NUMBER. THEN DO THE SAME WITH THE NEW NUMBER THAT CALLS. POST THEIR NUMBERS ON HERE AND EVERYONE BAND TOGETHER AND CONTINUOUSLY CALL THEM.
When you call make sure to dial *67 first then wait for a dial tone. This blocks your number.
So here is the first one dial *67 dial tone then 877-723-1426

received a phone call from 810.232.5451 which is unpulished from Flint Michigan, the message then states this will be the last courtesy call, since I only pay the minimum payment each month i can reduce my interest rate she then left the phone number of 877.723.1426
Sue 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
Hank,
I just received a call from them as well. I believe that this is some sort of scam. I pay my credit card bills in full and am not behind on any payments. I think that they are hoping to find someone who has credit debt that will want to take them up on their offer. I think that they hoping some fool will provide their social security number to them. I would not keep calling them.

Rec'd recording 2/23/11. Caller left no message except to call them at 877-723-1426 and this would be the last "courtesy call". When I returned the call, the person apologized for calling an incorrect number.

Lisa Middleton left message at my work 877-723-1426 saying she was returning my call. I will be reporting this one!
Suzi 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
Same as all the others...definitely some sort of scam. Caller-ID said call was from 810-732-4130, and to call back on 877-723-1426.

3.2.11
Got the same Lisa Middleton message to my work phone which is an unpublished number - and only used internally.
Definite scam.
What does it take to get the authorities to shut these people down?

I got a phone call yesterday 3/1 from this number 810/235-2312 and when I looked it up, the phone number was for a Dorothy Groescyk (misspelled) in Flint, MI, and my look-up source showed me a picture of her house/residence.
Today (3/2), I got a call from the same number 810/235-2312 and a recording told me that I had won a prize. The prize was a wireless home security system and I was to stay on the line to speak with an ‘operator’ by pressing 1 or to remove my phone number from the list I was to press 2. I pressed 2 and was immediately disconnected.
I then researched the number again today, the user is an unknown person/business, and the telephone provider is listed as Ameritech Michigan. I then researched a little bit further, found the following toll free number-1-877-723-1426, and called it. A woman answered and did not identify herself; I explained that I had received a call and she said she did not place the call and asked the number that called me. I explained that I opted out of receiving calls from them and was disconnected; the woman said she would make sure 'she' did not call my number again. I never gave my number that I was calling from, nor the number they originally called, to the woman I spoke to.
Another number associated with this fraud is 248-673-8891 when I researched that number I received the following information. The area map associated with this is the same area map that was associated to 810/235-2312 on 3/1! Here is the information:

My question, how do we stop these calls and report this to the FCC?
Tweety 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
Just received a call about cutting my payment in half, WHAT PAYMENT! so I called back to make correction and they replied "who" "what" oh okay.

Got a call to my work number, left VM... same message. I dont intend to call back
Angie 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
My 16 year old daughter, who has no debt in her name, no credit cards, NOTHING got a call from these people. When I called them back, they claimed they probably misdialed since she was a minor. They also said she was not living up to her minimum payments (which obviously she is not making) and that they could offer her a deal. SCAM!!
London Calling 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
I live in London and received this on my UK cell phone--I am American, but I don't have any debt or US credit cards....very strange
shshona 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
I received the exact same message on my voicemail as well!
Pete 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
Got this call and let it go to voicemail. "Uh.. hey guys, Lisa Middleton here, we spoke last week about lowering your interest rates on your credit cards" and some other nonsense.
Says for us to call back at 877-723-1426. Didn't call it back, but it sounds like something where I'd call back and they would be like
"uhh, what is your name again?"
Bob Smith.
"Oh yes, we called about lowering the rate on your card".
Ok.
"What is your card number and I'll check your rate"
It's 1234-5678-9012-3456
"and the expiration date"
03/2050
"and the 3 digit code on the back"
654.
"Hmmm, no sorry - we can't help you but thanks for calling"
Two weeks pass and I get a $5,000 credit card bill with hookers and ipads charged on to my card by some asshat in Russia.
That's kinda how I see the whole thing playing out. I'm tempted to call them back and troll the piss out of them.

iTunes will play .m4a files by the way.
Bellingham 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
How long will it take to shut these turkeys down..?
"Lisa Middleton" calls my unlisted cellphone, from an unidentified company, "following up" on an alleged previous call which never occurred, asking me to call back to a different number than she's phoning from, simply trying to get my credit card, it seems. Riiiiight.....
Disgusted in CO 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
Just today I received the same partially recorded message on my cell phone as the others have reported. It was unsolicited and the number that logged in on my cell was a Flint, MI number (810) 238-7891 but they said it was the last courtesy call and to call 877-723-1426. The name of the company was omitted but that could have been because there was only a partial recording.

These pieces of human debris called me today from this number: 406-224-9079
PMG 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
I just received a call from 406-224-9079 (Montana exchange) directing me to call 877-723-1426. I haven't answered an unfamiliar number since Telemarketers started calling years ago. That's what answering machines and voice mail are for. It costs them to place the call, it costs me nothing to hit delete. If I think the call might be legitimate, I just look up the actual business number & have them redirect me to the correct department. The internet has made this much easier.
Hank 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
This person should just come up with a legitimate service than to try scam people from their hard earn pay. DO NOT EVEN return their call, may be they use it to charge your minutes, check your plan as your using minutes too
SR 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
I just got the same message as most of ya'll...Lisa Middleton etc....we have no credit cards either.
has to be scam
Michael 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
THey are a consumer debt consolidation company. I called back asked for Lisa, 3 times I was transferred to an unnamed males voicemail. The 4th time, the woman would took my call said Lisa was unavailable and that she could help me. I indicated I'd prefer working with Lisa as she is the one that contacted me. The woman wouldn't transfer me to Lisa or to another who could put me in touch with Lisa and when I pressed for Lisa's voicemail, she hung up on me.
:)
uhavegot2bekidn 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
ok i git the same call i called them back and said "someone just called me" she said "are you currently paying to much interest on your credit cards?" (ok here is where the sales pitch comes in hoping i say yes so she can try to "sell" me on why i should go with them and combine all my credit cards with them" i said " i have no credit cards" (aww to bad they cant "sell" me) she said "oh ok we probably just misdialed disregard the phone call" so what we have here is a telemarketer try to get people to combine thier credit card debt into one lump some so the can make money.
Sylvia 2011-06-06 21:04:46 Unknown
Same scam message as others have reported, about a low interest rate offer, reference to a call from me (lie), etc. This is clearly some kind of scam. This message was on my cell number.
