Saying that they have been unable to reach me so they will be showing up at my residence or workplace with a summons.If they have been unable to reach me how do they know my address or workplace?Let alone my cell number.I am guessing a scam.

Legit collectors per section 809 of the FDCPA http://www.ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre27.pdf *must* tell you at initial contact, or send you paperwork within 5 days of initial contact, the following:
1. $amount of debt,
2. name of the current creditor (which may differ from the original creditor who might have sold your debt),
3. a statement that that debt will be assumed to be valid unless you dispute in writing within 30 days,
4. a statement that that if you do dispute in writing within 30 days, the collector must mail you written verification of the debt,
5. a statement that if you ask the collector in writing within 30 days, the collector must send you the name and address of the original creditor if it's different from the current creditor.
If you don't get the 5 disclosures, orally or in writing (you do not have to ask for them, the FDCPA requires collectors to provide them), treat the collector like you would any SCAMMER.
Has the statute of limitations for your state http://www.fair-debt-collection.com/SOL-by-State.html expired on your debt? If expired, don't pay.
Collectors generally have to be licensed by your state to practise (collect debt) in your state and you can find out by calling your state Attorney Generals Office. Ask if a license is required and does this collector have one. If not licensed, don't pay and file a complaint.

Did you take out a loan and notpay it?  If so, pay your debt.

SOMEONE FROM THIS NUMBER CALLED ME ABOUT A PAYDAY LOAN FROM 2008.THEY ARE THREATNING TO COME TO MY HOME,OR WORK PLACE .SAYING THEY HAVE A SUMMONS FOR ME TO GO TO COURT.THEY SAY A PROCESS SERVER IS COMING OUT TO MY HOME TO SERVE ME PAPERS.THEY CLAIM THIS LOAN HAS BEEN TO 3 DIFFERENT COLLECTION AGENCYS,AND NOW IS AT THEIR OFFICE.ARE THEY LIGIT? TEHY REFUSE TO SEND ME ANY PAPERWORK TO BACK THEM UP.WHAT DO I DO??

I received a call from unknown number.  Voice mail is from Amy Rogers saying she has a court ordered summons for me and I will have a failure to appear in court.  The plaintiff's number is 877-812-5818.  She never says who the "plaintiff" is.

Got a call from a private number telling me to call this number this morning, something about being taken to court and needing to contacted by a landline 3 times before being served at work.  I'm assuming yet another scam.

This number called me this morning telling me I was being taken to court because of some payday loan I never payed 4yrs ago. They tried getting bank account/credit card info from me to setup a payment plan. Also when asked for there address the lady become angry and hung up on me.Watch out for these people!!
