I answer  no one says anything, if continues going to call my local telephone company

They call about every day. I accepted the first one. It sounded like a computer,She asked about lower interest rates. She gives choices from a menu of a few numbers, and one number gives the choice of accepting or to not accept it and not be called again..I chose that one and I  haven't answered any others calls when I see it is their number. Isn't this against their denying the call.?

I am tired of these people calling me on a daily basis, sometimes more than once.  They never leave a message and I wish they would leave me alone.

Call came to Kansas at 11:12 hours CDT on 4-3-11. Call not answered and no message left. Posters on other sites, advise that it is either American Lung Association, or a scammer telling people he is American lung.Either way, a bummer call.. My caller ID said "Toll Free Call".

Someone from 877-815-4876 calls me on a regular basis and doesn't leave a message.

I called the number back and there is an option to remove yourself from their list.  I did that so I will see if it works.  They made a reference to federal law, so I believe all non-profits have to give you the option to be removed from their list.

Today is Sunday & again I received a call from this number.  Every day, sometimes twice a day they call.  I never answer 800 calls & they still don't get the message.  I wish I had started a log as to how many times they have called.  You would think they would give up by now.

Non-profits are exempt from the Do Not Call registry.

Unfortunately, in Texas you cannot block 800, 866, or 877 numbers because debt collectors have lobbied to prevent it.  I called ATT after I tried unsuccessfully to block an 877 number.  That's what ATT told me.  I think 877 customers must pay more than the rest of us just so ATT will let them harass us.

Wow, your Caller ID told you the caller was Black?  Would be nice if someone would terminate racism.

Anyway, I received an abandoned call today from 877-815-4876.

Go to Nationaldonotcall.com and make sure you're registered. Then file a complaint. Don't know if it will work, but at least I fell like I've tried to stop it. Good luck.

Received a call and I actually answered as I never answer numbers with UNKNOWN on caller ID. They hung up... didn't say a word. Guess the word hello was just too "deep" for him/her/it.  Obviously another call from a gutless SCUMBAG!

constant calls day and night

This number shows up as Toll Free Number and I never answer, no message either!  Was sitting next to phone this morning when I saw this number & disconnected it.  They immediately called back immediately (TWICE) with an ID that now says UNKNOWN NUMBER!!!!   I disconnected them after one ring each time.  They called about a week and a half ago (my husband answered) and claimed it was the cancer society with the same thing to ask your neighbors about donating etc. He said no,   Now I see that the Toll Free Number comes up American Lung Association.  These pests need to be stopped asap!!!!!!!!  We are on the NO CALL LIST but they get around this by being a "so called CANCER, LUNG Non Profit Association"

1. Get caller ID.
2. Do not answer 8XX numbers.
3. Do not call back.
4. Know your finances, i.e., know who you owe.
5. Pay your #$@% bills.

These people will go away if no one answers them.  If you are so starved for attention that answering a phone is the highlight of your day, get a dog, cat, bird, or fish.

These people have been calling my house at least twice a day for the past week. Driving me crazy, they are relentless!

A girl said that she wanted me to forward a letter to 5 on my neighbors.

Yesterday, I blocked a number from the American Lung Association. So now it comes in on a different number. I will just keep blocking until they stop.

I too have had several calls lately from them, some even showing up on caller ID as Amer Lung Assn.  I agree, it is very annoying that all nonprofits can do this solicitation. Thankful I have caller ID; none of these 8**- calls get answered.

answered the phone and had some black guy on the other end saying "hullo?" a few times. Guess their call-spam software wasnt working right and he couldn't hear me.

These morons keep calling, however if you have call block service you can block the number.  I have it and have effectively terminated these pests.

Second time for this phony number. Hang up. Call came in today at 1:34 p.m. Only ID: Toll Free Number.

Call came in 7:04 PST. Hung up.

This number called five times this evening.  They have been calling every other day.  I don't answer the phone and they never leave a message - just keep calling again and again.

Received a call from this number this morning.  They asked for my wife by full name and when I asked who was calling they said "The American Lung Association".  I told them she wasn't available and she said she'd call back.  I then Google'd the number and, as you can see, this is what I got.  Something has to be done about these creeps.

01/24/2011 - Got a call from this number this afternoon.  I didn't answer the phone, however, my son works in the engineering department of AT&T and he traced the number to a Varizon customer using it as a business number.  The caller Identifer was a scam call involving misusing the American Lung Association.  ALA only has 800 numbers, not 877 numbers.
