This company gives me a call almost every day, even on Saturdays. It should be reported and fined by CRTC. Otherwise, it should be bombed.

Thanks to smart phone apps, we have call blockers now.

I don't care if they are scam or real, not my problem. I own no one even a penny and their way of doing work is annoying.

Since I installed this call blocker, it's their time and energy wasted, not mine.

Ok Derp Squad...but I am not a collector. I am someone who owes money to these people too but I am not saying I don't. I am not pretending to not know what is going on. Difference with me is I am trying to pay my debts now that I can. Just people like one one at this searched number want to act holier than thou and won't even tell me what I owe and for what. He just wants to argue. Dumbass!

Why is it that shills come on here and seem to be totally bewildered as to why people won't believe their scammy spiel?  Admit it - you're trying to scam people out of their hard earned money.  Yes, you nitwit - people should pay their debts - but only to those debt collectors in compliance with consumer protection laws and who MAIL proof of debt/proof they can collect!  If they won't do that - too bad, so sad - for them!  BTW, anyone coming here can see right off the bat that you're a lying shill.

Why is it that most people here seemed totally bewildered as to why a collector would be calling? Admit it... you dropped the ball on a debt and now the collectors are calling to collect the money and you are in here claiming that you have no idea and that you don't owe anything to anybody. Obviously there are cases were mistakes happen but on every single one of these type of forums almost everybody says they have no idea what is happened. Many people even claim that it's got to be a scam. It's time to own it. I've dropped the ball, you've dropped the ball and now the company's want their money back and they're using collectors to get it. But don't run around trying to play the victim card or trying to convince everyone that it's a scammer. These are collection agencies trying to collect debts that you and I owe... and we know we owe them! Whether we pay them or not is another story but coming on here and playing stupid is ridiculous.

They work with the numbers that the companies giving them the files have. If they removed your number and the company said "this person owes money and here is their phone number" they will believe the company before the person on the phone.

The callers from this number repeatedly insist that a person used my number as their listed contact number and that i know her, i explained several times that there is no such person associated with my number and does not live or have not lived at my address.

I have had a similar problem like that with telemarketers, What a person must do is, go to their Dealer ( cell phone carrier)  and call CRTC while at dealer and simply tell them while they are both on the phone, and to fix problem or you will let the courts fix the problem.  ( Trust me , they will fix the problem, because they fixed it for me. ) from that day on I never got another unwanted call.  Ps don't bluff if they say there's nothing they can do, spend 50$ and file papers for court. You don't even need a lawyer.  The Judge will see your point.

Got this automated message that sounded very "computer like" saying it was for Jessie something and that it was "very important and not a solicitation", B.S !  Also it gave me a 7 digit number to refer back to when calling them back.

GUYS this is a total scam, the credit bureau would not call in this fashion.  If they indeed know you then they would already have all the info they need.  DO NOT give them your name, number birth date, NOTHING!

NEVER give out information, especially to such a vague message as "this is very important you need to call us" "oh and while your at it, why don't you leave us your SIN, banking info, and credit card number, oh and don't forget all of your passwords.  We need those to remove you from our system"

C'MON GUYS!

I answered the call, a woman said something about who was calling, but I couldn't understand what she said.  I was put on hold, music started playing.  I thought I would humour them and wait for someone to come on line.  The music stopped and I waited and waited, but nothing except dead air.  So I hung up.  My call display said that the call was from the U.S.A., and I live in Canada.  So the mystery continues.

There is a wonderful online resource that allows you to report harrassement calls like these.
My husband filed a complaint a few years ago on a collection agency that stated a Mrs. So and So lived at our address with our phone number.  They even went as far as accusing us of hiding her and that she was probably my husband's mother.  Once we reported them, they emailed us back with an apology and never got bothered again.  I just don't remember what it was called - try using google!  Good luck!

You are correct. I called back that number, after hanging up initially. It was indeed a proper business - a collection company with an A+ rating from the BBB (Better Business Bureau). The receptionist saw my number on her display, and I told her that my number is "unlisted", because had just received it recently. She said that this happens, because telephone numbers are being "recycled", and she said they would remove it from their list immediately.

They seem to be a bit sketchy, I have been paying on my account but continue to get calls from various numbers.  They always ask when I intend to send a payment to clear the account and when I give them a money order number and amount they pretend they don't have my info suddenly.  I've asked for a receipt for each payment and they outright refuse to send me anything in writing saying my money order is verification that I paid... oh, you mean the one you don't have on file and have no record of receiving despite signing to receive the envelope??  According to my files! I've paid over 1600 dollars to this company, but when I started the balance owing was $964.  I've had no luck with the government helping me make them accountable because they refuse to put anything on paper for the gov to start looking at!  They still say I owe $329 too!

Was getting calls every day from these people looking for someone I've never heard of. I was getting sick having to check my voicemail just to delete the automated message from them so I called the number. The guy was nice enough and said he removed my number from the database.

It was not CIBC, it was CBCC, Credit Bureau of Canada Collections. It is NOT a government company, but rather a collection agency that wants to sound like a government agency. Do not give them any info unless they say your name first, and are actually looking for you..

User used this number to make a harassing phone call to my home.  I have been receiving calls from many different phone numbers, area codes and I am looking them all up.  They call at all hours of day and night.  Arabic speaking person. I am not calling them back so I will not be charged for the call.

Are you working for this company.   I called them back after they called me about 40 times in 3 days when I did pick up they wouldn't say anything so I called provide them with my home phone and without thinking I provide them with my name and date of birth which really wasn't necessary for them to remove my number from the calling list but after I provided them with my name and date of birth she said that she would update her records which means that I am now on record of owing money on a debt that isn't mine.  It appears to be an issue with Rogers they have messed up their records some how and are now trying to collect the money from anyone.  I was told by the lady on the phone if I wanted them to go away that I had to paid they didn't care if I owed the money they just wanted it paid.  So you see they won't go away so you see JOY you don't know what the hell your talking about, go back to your buddy's at CBBC and tell them to stop committing fraud.

You right it could be a recycled number the problem is if you provide them with your name and number than they will add your personal info to that outstanding debt and call you non-stop.  I would also contact Equifax and Transcredit Union to have fraud protection added to your account, they would contact you if anyone attemps to use your personal info.  I can tell you this much if you don't have their number blocked.

Please don't provide them with any personal info such as your name or date of birth I made this mistake when I finally called them back they were calling my house 15 times a day when we answered they wouldn't say anything so I finally called them back gave my number to have the number removed and for some stupid reason I gave my name and birth date than she said "now I'll update my records" I thought that meant they would remove my name but they added my name to a outstanding Roger's Cell Phone Bill now they are asking me to pay for a Rogers Cell phone that I never had, never ever had a Rogers Cell.  Lucky they don't have my address, thats the thing if I owe Rogers and you have all my personal info just send me a bill but they don't have an address so there is something up there, please don't provide them with any info they don't need your name and date of birth to remove you number these people are corrupt they just need to add another payment collection to their Twitter account, yes thats correct they have a Twitter account that they add payments collected to.  Very professional group NOT.  Report them to your telephone company for harrassment or to who every else you can think of but PLEASE don't provide them with any info because if you do that debt will beome yours.
