Thanks for the update. I'm in Ohio and I just got my green card today with what evidently is the new number.

Got my Green card (10/2/2010). Since I'd made a recent online order I called. The line was dead for about 20 seconds - then hung up. Made me wonder if they were capturing phone numbers? Anyway, thanks for the website, I can throw away the card.

I got a green postcard today in Michigan. Knowing I wasn't shipping anything
I looked them up on Google and found this site.
Thanks for the heads up all!

Got one today 10/7.Looked funny, so Googled it and sure enough..Scam.Hard enough to keep up with all the internet scams...now even have to be careful of Snail- Mail! i wonder if any Laws were broken using the USPS? the # I was to call was 877-818-2492. I am at the PO everyday and will check with them.

Got my green card here in FL today. Sounded fishy to me, too, since I was not expecting any shipment of anything from anywhere at any time. Googled the company and found this site. Thanks for confirming my suspicions. The comment about capturing phone #'s is an interesting one. If you're enough of a sucker to respond to the card you may be enough of a sucker to respond to a phone scam--such as the one telling you you have won $16 million for paying your utility bill on time. When you call them back you're charged $8 a minute or some outrageous fee like that.

Got my green card today and was suspicious so Googled and found this site. very helpful. Many times I got calls from tollfree numbers and I never pick up phone if I don't know the number. If it is that important they will leave a message identifying themselves. Thanks Every one.

I received a card today. What a waste of paper? Why would someone send you a vague card requesting you to call for a package. If they are so genuine....just send me the package!!!! They apparently have my address.
In fact, send me the package and I will post a nice letter on the internet about the wonderful company, APEX SERVICES!!!!!
Dee 2011-06-06 21:04:51 Unknown
My husband received one and I went to the computer to check the company out. Glad we did, we would never call anyway.
Tony 2011-06-06 21:04:51 Unknown
Thanks for the info. I was leery when the verbiage on the card says, "call to schedule pickup." If I really was getting a package wouldn't it be, "call to schedule delivery" ?

Received in Kalamazoo area two days ago- thanks.

What do you care if it false info or not from someone making reply....obviously this company is a scam or they would have provided much more information. First clue: post office box, and no address for verification. Second clue: why post EST for time, when Texas is in Central time zone...well, most of Texas anyway. Third Clue: plain green card. Anyone can get first class postage for a "business" and bulk mailing....anyone with a "package" for you that is legit, will send a LETTER and provide DETAILS....no vague crap!!!

I received a green postcard from Apex Services this past week. They have now made their way to the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago.

Just to let everyone know, I called the number (877) 818-2492, spoke with "Debbie", she gave me code # NPR and told me to show up at 6200 Metro West Blvd, Suite #208, Orlando, FL on Tuesday, Oct. 12 @ 6:00. She said I will receive a choice of vacation packages plus a $300.00 gift card good for Target, Walmart, (and 2 other places that I can't remember). All this was being offered from Global Vacations Network out of Orlando, FL. All I needed was a photo ID and the code----no purchase necessary. Now, I just let her talk to find out if she was going to ask me for some personal info---all she asked for was a cell phone# or a fax# number which I didn't give her. I am sure there is some catch to this whole deal, but I just wanted her to keep talking. I have no intention of showing up and doubt if the place even exists, but was just curious as to what was going to be said. Hope this helps.
Jane 2011-06-06 21:04:51 Unknown
Global Vacations is definitely a scam.
The alleged free offers from the seminars always come with big expensive strings. You're asked to send money to redeem their "free gifts" -- that's your first clue. But then, wait for it, it can't be credit card payment, it has to be cash. Which tells me that they know you won't be satisfied and are making sure you have no recourse.
And you will be just as dissatisfied with the vacation options and costs open to you once you sign up, but by then it's too late. These are very sophisticated con men.

We got one too in Carleton, MI. Something needs to be done about this. Remember, NEVER give any bank information, personal information, social security #'s to anyone over the phone as you don't know how is on the other end of the line. If I don't know the phone number, I don't answer my phone. If it is important, they will leave me a msg and I will call them back.
Rosedod 2011-06-06 21:04:51 Unknown
Thanks!! just got one, and I was worried because I did buy something of value and didnt think it was coming from texas. Will not call.

Just got one in Toledo, Ohio and DID call (silly me). My phone ID is not blocked, but no one answered, but the ringing did stop. Perhaps they captured my phone number. That would be the most they got--I hung up then, eventually processing (internally) the information that it should be "delivery" if anything. Sigh. I hope no real harm has been done.
