I just called out of curiosity and I am glad I did. They are verifying all of my information for a job I applied to last week. Good thing I did, because I NEED a job!!!!! It was quick and to the point. I must have been on for about 5 minute with the person. They didn’t try and sell me car or anything… hahaha try it out, and you will see

I got a call from this number. They told me that I needed an MBA. Was I interested in more info. I said No, then the call ended. I got a text that I repsonded to. The text number was 32075(career network)

I just got the exact same message. This is still going on. Seems pretty shady. Why would a company send a text message? Are they run by teenagers? Best to avoid.

I got the same exact message from 32075 (CAREERNETWORK) about a File Clerk Job asking me to call 877-965-9992. I did not respond. Companies interested in hiring will call you. They won't ask you to call them.

I received the same message except my said "Bookkeeper" Just Delete it. Please, Please be leery of jobs posted on "Craigslist" Or a company Called "Sunset Software Inc." That was posted on Jobzoom and may be on others as well. Of course Jobzoom deleted them after I investigated and discover that it was a scam...

I just got the same thing for a PC support Specialist position but I have not applied to any "support specialist" positions. I am in the Marketing biz. Everyone disregard those txts it's probably a bunch of crap. On a side note, I did reverse phone lookup on that number and guess what, no information can be found.
| allen 2009-12-07 16:52:46 Unknown |
Interesting, I got the same txt message that most of you have. Mine was for an Entry Level Support Specialist but I didn't use Craigslist. I have public resumes on various career sites and will check with them as to this problem. Thanks for the heads up. I don't do txts from people I don't know and all the jobs I've applied for don't send txts, e-mail is my primary responce request.

HI ME TOO I RECEIVED THE SOME COULD PLAISE TELL WHAT DID U DO TO STOP THAT PLAISE.
I received a text msg FROM (CAREERNETWORK): Hi(my name),call me about the bartender position you have applied for 8779659992 . (txt STOP to cancel) I responded to a job listing on Craigslist. The application process was on-line and through a website called The Career Hub. The (txt STOP to cancel) part is suspicious. I remember the name Steve Haskins, a supposed HR director for the Career Network or the Career Hub. It's all a bit too standardized to be a personal response to a personal ad. SO CAN YOU TELL HOW CAN I STOP THAT

I received a text this morning: (CareerNetwork) Hi [ny name], call me about the receptionist/assistant job you have applied for 8779659222. I did in fact apply to a receptionist/assistant position through Craigslist. It was a Gmail email address and I sent a cover letter and my resume to. I received an email reply asking me to go to a Real Time Staffing website to "complete my application" which asked for my Name, Address, Education level and cell phone number. (All information that was already on my resume, so I thought this was weird). After I received the text this morning, I called and was put on hold for the Career Network company who wanted to verify information for a potential employer that I had applied to. I hung up and emailed the Gmail address back asking them to respond with more information about the job posting since I thought the Career Network was a scam. I received an email back immediately which was the exact same original email asking me to go to the Real Time Staffing website and "complete my application". I don't know what to make of this, I am going to call Career Network # back again and ask them more questions and see if they will tell me more specific information about this "job" I applied to. I am very suspicious of it now...

Received a text to my cel phone from (877) 965-9992 asking me to call about the Help Desk Administrator job I applied for. However I never applied for any such position. They ID'd themselves as Career Network.

I told Fernando that this felt like a scam and he became silent. I asked him what company he was calling me for and he stated that it was confidential. I've never experienced this before. He wanted to know how much schooling I had and if I was interested in getting more education.

(CAREERNETWORK):Hi [my name], call me about the Education Totor Job you have applied for 8779659992. (txt STOP to cancel)
I specifically remember applying for such a position, so I called back. I spoke with Fernando, who said he was a verification specialist for Career Network. He said he needed to verify my info. I was immediately suspicious, and resolved to not give info, but he only asked me to verify info he already had (none of it too personal, but stuff you would use to apply for jobs on the web: name, address, level of education, date of availability). He told me that was all he needed, and should I be considered for the position further, his client, the hiring manager would be contacting me directly. He said that Career Network would not need to contact me again. He never asked me for any information or anything about my social security number, etc. It seemed a bit odd, yes, but there was nothing he asked that couldn't have been found by googling me. If it's a scam, I can't figure out how.
