I received a call from this number while in the shower. An automated machine left me a message stating that I was being served due to a high liability claim. It left a claim number and advised that I contact legal counsel. I emailed the name of the company that was left on the message (CRS) and was told they don't handle that sort of thing and that the call did not come from them. I just got this number on Monday, and have signed up for a ringtone service. This service was the only person I gave my number to besides family.

I got a call from this number I have no idea what it is about I have no debt. It is a SCAM!! STOP CALLING!!

These people called me and stated I was going to receive a summons.  Therefore, pay this amount.
I told them to send the police out and please send me to jail.

I was received a call before 8:00 a.m. on a Sat.  We are CRS and we are collecting a debt.
What kind of mess is this.

I just received a call from another person claiming they had received a fax from this number claiming they were trying to serve me papers to appear in court. I asked the guy who called the name of his company and/or organization and he simply stated he worked for himself.
I called my attorney and he said that this was NOT the legal way to serve a summons and that it was most likely a SCAM.

word to the wise: threatning criminal punishment for a civil action is illegal. If they threaten you with this threaten to sue their a** and I gurantee you you will recieve a different conversation.

I've gotten 4 calls from these people -- I called back on the first two and told them they had the wrong person, wrong name, etc. and I thought they had gone away.  I've never written a bad check in my life.  Now they are calling me again.  Wrong names again and calling on my unlisted cell number.  I called the company back and drilled the representative on what exactly ist their business, where are they located (NY), a mailing address, etc. and the more I pressed for information on his side the more aggitated he got.  He finally hung up on me.  Something is not right with this - this has SCAM written all over it, I just can't figure out what their angle is.  I work at a law firm --- so let em serve me.

The fair debt collections practices act states that it is illegal for debt collectors to threaten consumers ith crimninal actions or threaten jaio time for civil debt. they are just blowing hot air.  I dont even answer the phone for them, they can kick rocks. Know your rights. Please serve me with a warning so I can sue the hell out of you and oay you what I owe at a discounted price and with your money. Ha Ha I laugh at you!

This person called my work number and told my boss that they were a government official and had to send in garnishment papers. When I searched the number I found out its a debt collection co.

I got a call from at my job from this company stating that I had two warrants for my arrest for a payday loan I defaulted on. I gave them the information to collect the money. But after reading these statements I'm going to cancel the info since they aren't even in the United States. BY country code is Belarus.

Very threatening messages left on my home, cell, work and my father in laws phones...
Very persistant..
Upon calling them back, they informed me that a police officer would be stopping by within 24-48 hours to serve and arrest me if I didnt pay them..
Called again to make payment and they also informed me that I was going to be turned in for financial institution fraud if I didnt pay them.
For a bounced check ? I dont think so.

Anyways, this company is screwed up and doesnt care about the fdcpa...

also assume this is a randomly generated call as this number has been on a wireless modem for 15 months and is now a cell line until the contract expires  :(

this number has never been used to make calls or given out, but we received an average of one or two calls per day with this type of crap.

it may be why it didn't work as a wireless modem with all of the incoming scam calls!!!

I'm a SAHM and have not been involved in any accidents. Left a claim number and said to call my attorney. I contacted the only company called CRS I could find online. I was told they don't handle that sort of thing and that the call did not come from them. I just got this number. It is a cell number and I stupidly signed up for a ring tone service. I am guessing that is who sold my number. I am going to assume it is a scam. If I was going to be served they would serve me, they don't call you to do it - or to "warn" you about it.

I've been getting these calls also and I don't know what to believe because yes I do owe a payday loan but they want huge amounts of money that I can't pay right now.. The lady that calls me from this number keeps stating that they could send me to court and I don't want that, so anyone have any suggestions.

I received a call from them. I called back and a woman said that I was a contact for someone else- my brother- who suppposedly has a claim against him for a bad check. So I told her I would find a way to get in contact withhim, and gave him the info.

I've have gotten the call and it only stated that I have a pending claim, need to call back at the number (877-995-0656), and the claim number. 1*3*1*. I'm only 17 and i dont have any loans, bank accounts, bills, or anything like that. Figured it was a scam, plus I never heard of CRS.

Received message on our answering machine stating to call this number requiring a bad debt???
We have none and didn't respond.

Got these calls a few times - they do not say 1.My Name. 2. What it's about. So figure they have the wrong number!  Will not call the number suggested back (877 995 0656) as would hate to implicate myself..... If it were real, they would mail me or contact me without using an automated service I guess...  Figure it's a scam.

CRS is a collection agency, they called me about my daughters account somewhere.

i got a call from this number last night and i am tired of  these collectors stating that they are going to file or they call and act like process servers and call to make a appointment to give you papers. process servers don't do that.  and in the state of texas which is a debtors state they really cant' touch you from what i learned. also why do companies in texas use out of state collectors anyway. texas is not governed by other state laws. they must think some people are dumb and and don't know the laws. they are harrassing people and need to stop with the threats.  it is not right to threaten people. when this lady called and left a message for me from this number she called and it came up private number. they also need to stop calling like that. i am one of those people that do not answer numbers i don't know or come up unknown or restricted or unknown. they if they leave a message they give a number. what are they trying to hide.

Very official sounding woman warning me of an impending claim against me (even gave me the claim number).  I have no idea what this is about but I am not going to respond.  I believe that if it was ligit they would at least say what the claim is about or would send a letter with the details.  I am sure this is a scam and I am not going to be suckered in to responding.  I deleted the message and advise you to do the same.  Don't cave in to your curiosity as you will then likely be the target of other scammers.

As followup on my post of Dec 10 09, callers from CRS have called and harrassed an elderly (and ill) neighbor of mine who has contacted her attorney about the call. I spoke with our D.A.'s office; hence, my attorney is handling this on my end.  
Perhaps the callers are people who are harrassing us for a joke and stating they are CRS representatives since neither of us owe anyone anything except our routine bills.  Nevertheless, we will have these problematic calls resolved very soon.

Received a call in the beginning of decemeber, not to sure of the date but i spoke with a gentlemen in regards to a loan i defaulted on. I told him i didnt want to go to court but i never contacted him back after are initial conversation. Now i work at a correction facility and was served yesterday, so i contacted my attorney earlier and found out since i authorized an ach draft to be ran from my account, that it actually constitutes as a bad check since its an electronic check and since were in the great state of texas if a bad check isnt recoverd within 10 days after issuing it that im now facing criminal charges!!!!! Thank god my lawyer said he will be able to keep from doing the 30days the law says but unfortunately the 1100$ i should of paid is no longer 1100$!!! these b*****ds are charging me 477.95$ for their lawyers fees and 377.77$ in court costs and im facing a fine of 1,000$ with the possibilty of doing 30days to 2years!! I know its my fault but these stupid a** state laws are rediculous!! is the bad check law as bad in other states as they are in texas???
