Part of the united credit criminal enterprise.  They buy debts and then create forged affidavits in photoshop so that you can't dispute it if you don't owe it.  I don't think any banks sell to united credit recovery anymore because they were forging millions of affidavits on the banks let thread and then distributing the, to their criminal enterprise.

Send them a letter and ask for validation.  Don't agree to anything and make them prove that they have the paperwork.  You will probably never get anything in writing from them.  Knowing Michelle, she will tell you to contact the bank to get the account info.  That is her job.  She will tell you that it is your responsibility to contact the bank and that is false.  It is up to Standley to provide the documentation.  Michelle has a problem understanding what "burden of proof" means, although she supposedly works in a law office.  Although, by now, maybe she understands that term.

I just got a call from Michelle from this company. She said that they are prepared to take me to court over closed us bank acct. I haven"t had us bank acct for 3 yrs now. Don't know what to do.

If someone threatens to send you to jail for not paying a debt you should definitely call the local attorney general.  Debtor prisons has not been around for a long time.  You cannot go to jail for not paying a debt.

Well hell I was trying to find th e the number to call sonny so I could finish paying cuz he hadn't called me yet this month which was weird cuz he has been calling like clock work for almost a year to sxettle a creddit cardc debt that btw I knew I never had but he said I could go to jail if I didn't make a payment and because I didn't know any better it looks like I was scammed. Great close to 1500.00 gone down the tube I could have used that to fix my car. Why do people think its ok to do this to hard working blue collar americans who are just trying get by and not get into trouble for bills. I'm completely heart broken now what am I gunna do I thought I was getting myself out of debt.

As posted before I did fight them for the debt AND for violating the FDCPA (Fair Debt Collection Practice Act).  It was a 2 1/2 yrs processs.  I didnt win either but I know they DID harass me and not provide proper back-up to the debt. Be careful though....they will sue you as they did with me. On the first case I wouldnt pay until they showed me the back-up for the debt.  Thay gave me 2 pages of 35!!!  When I went to court the judge was in a hurry to be done with her day (it was her last case from what the negotiator said) and she didnt give me much time to plead my case. I lost and paid approx. $3800.00 compared to the $2200.00 Standley was asking for. Im not saying give into them but be careful....Its going to depend on the judge, if you have money (they check your income before suing) and your ability to prove your case.  It totlally sucked but I was willing to fight to make them prove it was my debt. I really didnt know at the time and they played with me in an effort to harass and abuse me into paying. It wasnt right! I believe they get some weird "kicks" from doing it to people.  I can let you know more ways to protect yourself if its still happening.  Let me know......I set up a special e-mail for questions so send me one if your still struggling with them. I just went thru a Jury Trial this past week with Standley & Assoc. for violation of FDCPA.  Unfortuntely I didnt win because my records, etc but I KNOW what they did. I am willing to share my experience with you if you are still going thru this and let you know what to do so you can fight them for the harassment.  Please post back and I will check in weekly and answer any questions. FYI - A Standley & Assoc "troll" will post something here to intimidate us im sure, but Ive been thru this and I can give you some advice.

Wouldn't even worry about it. The old adage of Show Me the Money is appropriate. I mean who cares, even if legit nothing can happen till you receive some form of Formal notification  - so have you received ANYTHING in the mail? No? Then relax. Is all BS anyway

I have been recieving calls from their office for the past 2 months. They stated numerous times that they are taking me to court for an old debt. Haven't heard anything from them in the past 2 weeks so I'm not sure if they're following through with it or not. Anyone here actually been sued by this company or are they just using empty threats?

We gat a call from a "Mr. Dupree" stating he was working on a judgement against my husband (who has a common name) and we needed to contact him right away. He even gave us a file number to refer to. I called the number back and left a message on his voicemail stating he had the wrong person and we know he was just "cold calling" in an attempt to locate the real person. He called back the next day and said he was not "cold calling" and that he needed info from my husband to eliminate him. Our belief is this is a scam in order to obtain personal info. We chose not to call back again.

Has anyone ever had legal action taken against them from Stanley and Associates? I just got a call from a $79 bill that is over 5 years old...which they are claiming is now about $500 of debt. They are telling me that they are going to give me a summons.

I was hung up on twice and now they won't answer when I return their calls. I spoke with a slimy person named Mr. Dupree. He wouldn't answer any of my questions and talked over me. He just hung up. I don't know what to do or what my rights are.

Can anyone help me here?

Thanks to you people for posting all this information....these guys are still at it and as rude as ever.  Armed with new information I almost hope they call back......NOT!  This guy called himself...not sure how to spell it but phonetically it would be "Dwar-tay".... The first time they called it was a few months ago and it was Dupree.  The only debts we have are a mortgage and a car payment which we are more than current on.  The only thing I can figure is that my brother-in-law who has left many debts scattered to and fro and used our name as a reference once without our permission, must be to blame.  We used to get calls just looking for him for which I was completely honest and gave them the contact info we had, but those people were nice and actually honest and up front.  It amazes me people can actually behave this way, call it "business" and get away with it!

I have received calls from Sonny Quintana and Mr. Dupree leaving messages that I must call them back regarding a "legal matter" .  When I called them back they said that I owe over $600 on a US Bank credit card I have never heard of.  After the 3rd call I informed them that I was filing a complaint with the Attorney General and the Denver BBB.  I sent a copy to Standley's 26th ave address (from his website), but it came back as undeliverable.  I filed a 2nd letter with the AG showing his Wesminster address.

I had the same call as Kris from a "Mr. Dupree".  Called back, got voicemail.  He was very threatening sounding.

I also received a call from 'mr.dupree' i didnt tell him who i was but instead asked why he was calling, he kept trying to get me to tell him my name and birthdate. he then made very threatening remarks toward me, told me he was going to 'f*** my life up' among other things. Very threatening. its nice to know that we have pages like this to warn people about things like this. Dont put up with his garbage!

Mr. Dupree is a real peice of work ... He calls my home rattels off a version of my husbands name, and then threatens legal action. When I call back, being the responsible law abiding citizen I am, and of course relate to them they have the wrong person, he does not so much as apoligze. He is a real PRICK !!
( excuse my language) and I will be shouting it from the roof tops MR Dupree. I then proceeded to call back to speak to his superior and he began yelling at me. There is no attorneys office is there Mr Dupree you are a liar and a fraud. Would you like someone to treat you this way...Keep hiding Mr Dupree!!! you wont let anyone talk to your boss because you are a liar and a fraud ( oh did I already mention that) ....There is no attorneys office.

This Mr. Dupree is my soon to be ex-husband. Think he's an a** on the phone....try living with him. And ya the company is legit.........apparently they just have no ethics or regard for the FDCPA!!! Its James Standley Law Firm off of Sheridan in Denver, Colorado.

I talked to Mr. Harold Dupree today and informed him I was recording the call and that by laving a message on my phone he was already in violation of the FDCPA and that I had already researched him and read all about him... He immediately started yelling .... it made me giggle a little.... He proceded to yell over everything I said and hung up on me ....lol So I called him back he picked up and said "law offices" I said "of What" he Said "look B***h I am not playing your games" ....lol and hung up again!!!!! I used to work for a collection agency but a real one not a "scavenger company" like him. I called US bank and they have no information on the account that he gave me. I will be filing a law suit against him on Monday.

Mr. Dupree is still at it, and apparently that heavy breathing harasser has not learned any new tricks.  I also spoke with a "supervisor" Brian Quintana (Yes, that guy, too!) While they were not helpful in providing any information (or anything else for that matter), I did some checking on my own.  BTW, I was also given an account number that does not exist & they were looking for someone who does NOT live at my house!  Telling them that only caused Mr. Dupree to get nastier and then hang up on me.

I now have the contact information on the actual attorney, James J. I was left a message on my home machine from Mr. Dupree with a file # and instructions to call back the 303-800-9982 number.  I saw on my caller ID that the call came from 888-212-3762. The message was left for someone with a similar but not the same first name.  From all the above comments it sounds like this law firm should be reported to the bar association.

We had the same experience. "Mr. Dupree" a "legal assistant" for somebody or other keeps leaving threatening messages for someone who is not here. This is a scam to collect personal information. Do NOT respond, engage, or provide information. We have reported this number on previous ocassions.

How did that go? Filing the lawsuit. If we're thinking Class Action, we'd like to get in on it. Did you see the message from "Mr Dupree's" ex wife posted recently. Oh boy!

OMW! I have been gettin the same thing. I Just reported him and that James J Stanley& Assoc. to an attorney off line I found. They told me they get alot of Complaints about this Person and So Called Law Frim! There not a Law Frim in Fact its a collection Agency Called N C O Finicinal!

I just received a call from 888-212-3762 and asked if he may speak to me and I told him speaking and he he told me he was Mr. ? Duprey and he worked for James J Stanley and Associates.  He asked me in a very demanding way if I knew a Katherine Louise Hayden and when I told him no he immediately hung up and didn't even let me get another word in.  I also, tried to call the number back and received a recording stating that it was Mr ? Duprey with James J Stanley and assciates and that he was on the other line and to leave a message with your name and case number and he would call you back.
