I got a bunch of calls from Sallie Mae when I got a new phone number.  I never had a student loan from anyone, ever!  I also got a call or two from QuinStreet, which is also a college loan bill collector.  I guess the previous holder of my phone number owes some college loan money.

This caller is a Sallie Mae.  They left a message for me to call back which I did and then the automated system asked me for my social security # to access their system.  I said "hell no" to their automated system and was left waiting when someone finally picked up my call.  I told them I've never had a student loan and she asked for my name and phone number.  I replied you can't see who is calling you?  She said no but if I gave her my name and phone # she would see that I wasn't called again.  I told her thank you very much but I'll know in the future to IGNORE your phone calls.  They are phising for something and they weren't getting it from me.

Don't give them any information, if they were real, they would be able to identify you through your phone call.  Calling people who don't have student loans.  These people are a joke.

This is Sallie Mae calling. It's their main number listed on their website. If they call, at least one of your accounts is past due. Their messages are horrible because when you listen you can't tell who they are. If you do communicate with them, you can request that auto-dialers not call your home.

I received an email stating that on 5-20-2014, that my request for my password has been processed, and that it is drowenbanks, and to call 888-272-5543 for any questions. (had I replied, they would have had my phone number as well, or that they already have it and I have not responded.  This is clearly a trick, and sham scheme to secure additional information from me through the inducement of a deceptive-pretextual sham, i.e. the password change.

I'm not a consumer.  Either the consumer gave them the wrong number or they got the number wrong.  The person they're calling is not at this number and I've told them that repeatedly.  They're harassing me about a loan someone else defaulted on and all it's doing is really getting me beyond frustrated and angry.

My ex-husband got a message from this number, supposedly Sallie Mae looking for me, but the funny thing was they mentioned a last name that I haven't used for 20 years.  I called them and asked what they wanted.  He wanted my account or social security number.  I said no.  He asked about my sister (who also has a Sallie Mae account).  Well, if it was truly Sallie Mae, they know where my sister is, plus they would know my updated phone number.  I told the guy I was not giving him any information about my sister.  I hung up on him.

Just received a call from there recording.  Called back immediately they are closed.  They wanted me to leave my SSN no way.  They threaten me with screwing up my credit they did that last month even though they said missed only one payment.  but 60 days late so I am still doing the math as that means 2 payments.  So the next step I guess is send goons to beat me up or knock me off.  They are wrong but I am a middle class citizen and they are rich corporation it is a no win situation for the middle class.

The number shows up on our caller ID as "Toll Free", but it's definitely Sallie Mae. They left a creepy message on the answering machine last night, and it was too late to call them back to get to the bottom of this. After jumping through a ton of hoops, I managed to get someone on the line and I asked them why we were getting these calls. I pay my bills, none of which involve Sallie Mae, and I don't even know anyone who has anything to do with them anyways. The first one couldn't give me a straight answer, so they transferred me to "collections". Then when I asked them why we were getting these calls, they beat around the bush and said nothing comes up in their system with our phone number, and that basically there's no way to stop them if it's not in their system when I asked them to take this number off the call list, and that this number is no good. I believe I will be filing a complaint with the FCC. This is the second call I've gotten from them, and I'm sick of it. Time to nip this crap in the bud.

I have phone block but it only holds 30 numbers and the people who call far exceed that.  It's sickening.  The DO NOT CALL registry only stops the legitimate businesses.  In any case, I don't believe this is Sallie Mae.  It's some fricking company that will do the paperwork for you to request a different payment plan.  Which you can completely do  yourself.  There is a new payment plan available so that may be why they have stepped up the calls.  I would just go to the Sallie Mae website.  They will give you all the help you want of need.  As to how I've successfully stopped callers before, if I don't recognize the number calling, I just casually answer "Brontown sherriff's department.  Can I help you?"  Silence.  Then they ask for whomever they want or hang up.  They did ask and I said no one by that name worked here.  They never called again.  And that was after twice a day and on the weekends.

It's most likely Sallie Mae "with something very important to tell you about your student loan." They'll pester you at all times.

I know who these dummies are but is it legal for them to call me on nights and weekends from this number and several other numbers??? I'm currently averaging about 8 calls per day from sallie Mae collections at all different hours and from several different numbers.  I find it hard to believe that they can legally harass me like this.

The claim to be Sallie Mae, a loan company. Have been calling me for the past 4 months, since I got a new cell phone, looking for an Ian M. I keep telling them he no longer has my number and I don't know who he is. They keep calling and asking for him. This past week they have called EVERY day. I am so sick of it! What part of "He doesn't have this  number any more, stop calling me!" is so hard to understand??

Sallie Mae is worse than bottom feeding collection agency.    I fell behind on my loan and then I agreed to have automatic deduction taken from y bank account.    They continued to harass me numerous times each day at my office and my cell phone, even after I told them I had made arrangement for automatic withdrawal.   Sallie Mae should be monitored more by the government as the collectors get paid on what accounts they clear up and it is easier to offer you a deferment (which tacks on more interest charges) than to help you catch up your account - the collectors don't care one way or another as long as they get paid.   Someone in the government should do something about this company.

I answer the phone for a business.  I have tried twice to tell them that they are calling an incorrect number.  The second time I tried, they hung up on me.  I cannot register a business phone with the Do Not Call list.
