Same issues here, now they go by Solomon, Smith, and Associates. Supposedly out of ATlanta, GA. Same number 1-877-490-0994. Very trashy people on the phone. I tried to get mailing address, it was denied, a copy of my paper work, denied, the "lawyers" name and Law License number, denied. They threaten me saying there is a warrant for my arrest, and that if I had a criminal lawyer, because I will need one. I called the people they said I owed money to and they had no account on file, the stated that it sounded like a scam. PLEASE BE AWARE, do not give them any FINANCIAL information or anything what so ever.

I was told the same thing and set up threee payment plans before checking into this company and now I have another company telling me I owe them money for the same company that clearwater finacial requested money for(cash jar.com) everytime I call the number the ring central s*** comes up now what do i do to not have this new company take more money from me this s*** really sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Still have not paid last amount to clearwater it is do friday any suggestions on what to do should i call my bank!!!!!!

Don't worry. These guys have shut down and moved on to open another fake collection agency. The number was a "ring central" account, the address they gave out was fake. Once they discovered people were on to them, they closed the doors and will likely re-open under another name. Any time a collector calls, research them on the internet to see if they are legitimate before talking to them. I have a long list of FDCPA voilations on these guys, if I catch them, I will sue them... however, they are not new at this. They know that they are operating illegailly and they know how to cover their tracks. Here are some tips:
Ask to send you payment by mail. If they don't take payments by mail (FOR ANY REASON), tell them to get lost.
Be sure to research them on the internet and find out if they are a real collection agency...
Once you get their real address, send them a letter requesting validation.

They call my place of business with a recording saying that they have some legal documents that they need to send to either my place of business or my home.  If they needed to send these documents and they have my information, then why don't they just send the damn documents!!!!

Got a call with number 000-00-0000 saying have a paper to be served at work or place of employment. It also
says call the plaintiff with tel#888-297-8740. I have no idea who this caller is and I don't want to call back because if you do-they will ask all information.

They are operating illegally off the grid to keep from being sued due to their illegal collection tactics. The address they give is 5706 E Mockingbird Lane, suite 118, Dallas TX 75206. I went to that address and it is a UPS Store that forwards their mail to them. I called and asked if I could mail them a payment and they said they don't accept payments by mail (RED FLAG!). These are illegal debt collectors. There is no Clearwater Financial debt collector to be found in any legitimate list of debt collectors. Do a web search and you will find a lot of "clearwater financial" companies, but they are not this company. Many are financial consultants (different people). Avoid paying these guys a penny! They are hiding and operating off the grid for a reason! For all we know, they could be funnelling money to Al Queda. If you give them your bank account or credit card information, you will likely be robbed!

We're been getting calls / messages from Clearwater Financial for weeks.  They're looking for someone ith our same last name.  I returned their call the first time or two and told them they have the wrong number.  Then they start asking questions.  I told them I am going to report them to our state Attorney General.  Doesn't seem to deter them.  They say they will take our phone number out of their system, but more calls came.  I was the victim of identiry theft about 18 months ago and I'm wondering if there is a connection ?

This is Clearwater Financial. They are collecting on junk debt from payday loans and such. They are violating several Fair Debt Collection Practices Act regulations. 1) threatening to sue when they either have no intentions nor ability to do so 2) they call repeatedly (family too) 3) they refuse to validate 4) they do not give you the required disclaimer when you call (I.e.; this is an attempt to collect a debt...). They are either stupid or operating illegally. Do not pay they a dime. Call them and tell them to kiss your rear. Ask for their address and send them a cease and desist letter (look it up on google for a template) and send it certified mail return receipt. Once they get it, if they keep calling sue the crap out of them.  You can probably sue them for the violations already. The FDCPA allows for $1000 in damages for each violation.

I will not call either. But when I answer my phone it is that same recording that they leave on recorder. Same message as yours. .?

Has anyone got any information on this number? Even when I answer the phone it is the same'ol recording about their client and papers for me. I have nothing in collections!

the numbers shows on my tel# are all 000-00-0000 uknown ans when I listened to the mesaage ti is the same as those people that they call saying the document papers to serve at my work or my residence. I am reluctant to call this number as I don't know who they are.

Recorded message for someone who does not work for this company and has not worked for this company for four years, past the statute of limitations for most debts she might have incurred while employed here.

They called my mom and my uncle saying that they have legal papers to serve

Just got a call at work - recorded message - these people can not harrass you at work - they can never provide you with any information and refuse to provide original paper work - legally they have to provide you with the original paperwork with your signature on it - always check the statue of limitation in your state half the time these debt collectors by debt that has already been written off for pennies on the dollar. Also the only person that can sue you is the original place you created your debt - not a debt collector.

y have legal papers to serve u and have info why leave message to ask the info. If they are going to serve u then do it and stop call to leave that crazy messaged

The company is Clearwater Financial, and they are contracted by Cataract Holdings. It could be about defaulted payday loans with TIOR Capital or Sandpoint Capital. The name that comes up on my Caller ID is Tom Griffith 888-297-8740. Your best bet is if you have defaulted on a payday loan and want to make sure you are paying the correct people call the payday lender you originally received the loan from and they can direct you to the correct company handling your accounts.  It is a huge pain and also a huge SCAM, these companies have enough information about you that you think they are legitimate, but be very careful. The Federal Trade Commission is also great to help answer question on what your rights are.
