i have gotten a call from a private number last 2 mornings from a steven morriss  stating for me to be home he was gonna serve me and to call855-475-0257 this is a scam and the sheriffs department said do not call them back. number one if you owe a bad debt they put it on your credit these are scammers.

I got a call from a "process server" at work and I too freaked out. I know that I owe money and I really want to pay it back and get my debt squared away. I talked to Richard Harris as well and we settled my "$13,000" debt for $3000 after he "talked to his client" he even turned to his secretary and told her to put a cease and desist on the papers that were going to be delivered to my house. So today I was researching their number to pay off the rest of the money that I owe them, they took $900 from me and I find out that they're a fraudulent company. Great. That's just what I need. As a student I can't afford to be missing $900 but what can I do at this point? I won't be giving them any more money, that's for sure. Thank god I found this site BEFORE sending them the remaining $2000. I feel like a moron. :( I just filed a complaint with the attourney general of Washington. Will update on this thread if I get any more information.

My boss got a call from a "Richard Harris" from the law firm as well said i needed to call within a few hours in order to avoid being served. My boss was concerned I ended up calling they said I owed 12,000 and they would take me to court garnish 25% of my wages. I explained I couldnt afford that I could possibly make a $50 payment monthly he wasnt going for it I offered them my credit card to charge 1,000 dollars, and a payment plan for the settled amount. This was 24 hours ago since then I've been talking to my boss who is an accountant and researching my rights my debt is from 9 years ago and i owed aprox 3,000 the statue of limitations for this debt has expired I called my credit card company to dispute my charge hopefully i can get my money back. When they called PFG and she expalined that I was disputing the charge she told them she was going to transfer me on for a conference call they hung up on her. They used intimitadion and misrepresented themselves ubelievable!

I've been had by this same company calling themselves, Pristine Financial Group. They called me stating I owed them 1400.00 on an old debt and that they were going to serve me if I didn't pay them. I got so scared that I set up a payment plan with them for 50.00 a month. So far, they have probably gotten about 200.00 from me. I am disabled and live on social security benefits. Thank God, I have been reading these posts from people(smarter than me) who have also been contacted by them and didn't pay them anything. I am so angry that people can do this to citizens who are or had been going through a hard time. I went online to fine their website and found nothing but compliants from other people. Thank you,thank you, thank you for those who researched this company and found them to be scammers and criminals.!!

Thius entire 9 pages of blogs can be boiled down to 2 simple realities. For the people who owe the debt, it is not a scam if a legitimate collection company calls you and attempts to collect all, a portion, or a much larger amount from you, if they in fact own the debt!!! Uncollected debt, on average is purchased for approximately 2-3 cents on the dollar from various sources, including the original creditor, another collection agency or businesses who specialize in selling large blocks of this uncollected debt. They can and will try to collect as much as they possibly can for the debt, not because they are criminals, but because they know that they will only be able to collect on about 10% of the debt they buy. After they hold the debt for about a year, they will resell the portion they haven't collected on to another collection agency, usually for an additional discount ( maybe 1-2 cents on the dollar ). It is the debtors responsibility to obtain a credit report, preferrably all 3 bureaus and track down the TRUE holder ( owner ) of the debt and contact that firm. The people posting to this blog are simply ignorant of what steps to take to find these things out. Anyone who is either too stupid or too lazy to find out sho actually owns their debt deserves what they are getting, harassing BS phone calls from firms that don't even own their debt. One last point, their are statutes of limitation on debt ( the maximum amount of time the owner of the debt has to collect that debt, it ranges from 4-7 years ). If you are getting called on some debt that you stopped paying on in 1999, you don't OWE THE DEBT ANYMORE. PERIOD!!!! Again, if these bloggers posting to this site are too stupid or lazy to find out what the statute is in their state BAD ON THEM. You get what you deserve. Educate yourself on your rights and you will be able to confidently ignore these "threats' that unscrupulous companies are subjecting you to....

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY!! I too received a phone call from a "process server" saying I was going to get served a summons unless I called the "legal dept" that was handling the matter in 24 hours. Of course that freaked me out and I called immediately. I spoke with Henry Reed, and he told me I owed over $1500 on an old debt, which included fees and fines. He said they sent a notice to me, but to an address that I haven't lived at in over 6 years. Everything was so urgent! I tried to negotiate, and he kept saying he had to "check with the client" if it was ok. We must have spoken 5 or 6 times in 2 days, as he kept trying to negotiate, or so he was saying. He finally said he had "good news" and that the client agreed to settle for almost 1/3 of the amount. BUT they needed the money that day! I explained I couldn't just come up with that amount of money in one day.

Anyway, something about the whole thing seemed fishy to me, so I started doing some research. I found this site and found all of these complaints. I just had a really bad feeling about it all. So, the next time he called me, to get a payment, I explained that I wasn't comfortable giving him my CC number over the phone, that I don't even know the name of his company, and I need something in writing. He said he would email me something later that day, and once I got it I should call immediately to settle this.

Well, I got the email, and I also looked deeper into things. I discovered that my debt with the company he was referring to was only $600! He was trying to get an extra $900 out of me!! Disgusting.

In the end, I didn't call him back, and haven't heard from him since. That was almost 2 weeks ago. No one has come to my house to summons me. Once he realized I was on to him, he completely backed off.

These people should be ashamed of themselves!! In this economy with so many people out of work, struggling to pay their bills, to have someone harass and scare them is disgusting. DO NOT give them anything...tell them to serve you if they have to. You won't get any knock at the door, trust me.

They called me about the Continental credit card that i only had 250 dollars on there and stating that i have to pay 1000.00 to them or they will have the sheriff after me and i called the sheriff the sheriff i knew and he told me it was a scam and had no records of any kind of form on me. how can I have them stop harassing me at work. My boss was so upset but not at me and he said it was illegal to call me at work.

Always record their calls. When they call back answer and say your call is being recorded for legal purposes if you do not wish to be recorded you can hang up. Then IF they say they decline to be recorded tell them too bad your call is being recorded, you have been informed, you can hang up if you wish. If they continue and claim a debt demand a letter of validation be sent through the mail. Tell them they can have no information until receipt of the letter of validation. Inform them that you will pursue any violations of the FDCPA in court. Research the FDCPA  and sue them for violations.

They are alive and kicking I got a call from.my assistant today who informed me to call this number right away or Iwould be served papers at work tomorrow to appear in  court .I work for a fortune 100 company and was a victim of identity theft back in 2005   I called my lawyer the first time I got a call from them 6months ago and found out then a loan was taken out in my name from a company called cash call and informed the Moran  I was filing BK since he was being  jerk. Well 6 months later here we are and they are getting a cease and desist order faxed to them tomorrow I did some research and found out the account was sold 6 times .

They called me at work saying that they were a sheriff dept. trying to serve me some papers, receptionist text me, advised supervisor, she gave me the number and I called, they told me  that needed to pay or they would deliver a summons to me. I spoke to a guy named Bill Glass. They told me I had to pay or they were taking me to court to get a payment. He laughed when I told him to give me a website.  I will file complaint  to AG site.

I contacted the AG's office, apparantly collection agency's are not required to file with the SOS office.  I filed a complaint, will have to see if there are enough complaints for the AG office to go after them.

I just received a call from one of my clients.  I am an independent consultant, accounting and bookkeeping saying that they had received a call from these guys saying that they were sending a sheriff to serve me papers.  When I called I spoke with Randy (888-863-5719).  He asked if I had ever gone by the name Jennifer Barnes (no) and asked me to verify the last 4 number of my social (which he gave and they were not mine).  Then said that the information had been recieved by one of their agents in No Cal and obviously they had the wrong person.  I told him I expected them to call my client and explain, then apologize.  This just happened so we'll see if they do.  He gave me their address as 1800 North Bristol Street Suite C477, Santa Ana CA 92705.  I asked for a local number and he gave me 714-597-7515.  I have submitted a complaint to the AG's office.  They say depending on how many complaints they receive they will determine if they will pursue.  

I urge all of you to go the the AG site and complete the complaint form.  These people need to have their hands slapped good.  I don't appreciate them putting my reputation at risk.

hi kevin my mom got a call asking for me, I wasn't home they told here I had three hours to get back to     them that i was going to be served with a summon or supina. I got home late when i called the number I got a voice message saying they were pristine financial group

my mother got a call, it wasnt from 888-350-5995 but from 888 863 5719 so there now using another number, anyway there were asking for me, but I was not home, saying that I had 3 hour to get back to them if not i was going to summons to court. My poor mom was so upset and worried. I didnt get home till late when I called the number I got a recording say it was pristine financial group please leave message after the beep.

have recieved several calls/voicemails stating that i owed a debt with a case # that they were going to have me served or my wife served and we would be in jail come monday morning.  They have made several threats most of the people that i have spoke with have a mideastern accent and cannot speak english very well.  After they threatened bodily harm to my wife i got ugly back with them and told them to try that we have numerous weapons and begged them to come to Ms.  to serve me properly.  I did use a few choice words that relate to their ethnicity.  And the only thing ony of them can come back with is "go f### your mother"  thats all any of them know.  I have notified my attorney and state attorney general. Now that i finally have their true name gonna proceed with filing against this co.   will post back with what happens.

i received a call on friday stating that i owe money and that i needed to pay or they will sue me.
i never even received any notice or anything. they even said that they had sent me a notice but that it had gotten back to them. bs i never received a letter that i missed a certified mail. but anyways it was the first time they contact me by phone, and they already demanding payment. now i realize that i do owe money, but the money that they claim is way higher!! so i am wondering if it is legit or not. i am so confused!

i want to believe that they arent because if they were they would have sent me certified papers correct?
I mean i dont mind paying what i do owe, but only if it is legit and only what i originally owed.

This randy torress from 71445977515  who says is the legal administrator is the one who has been calling me. They are from california and i am in texas! They sayd a sheriff was going to come and deliver the summons papers to me if i didnt pay. he says it is a settlement if i pay 1248 when i only owe 499.
Alot of the things he said were odd, so i have been wondering.

I have received threating phone calls also threating to summons to court from 888 350 5995 and also 714 597 7522   NAME Richard Harris   I advised that I was going to hire a lawyer and they should send summons if they are able to ..We will see The way I look at this is if I go to court and pay it will show on my credit report that I paid.

This company has been calling my work which is a school district and has been threatening to serve me with a judgement. I decided to call them and attempt to work something out well its seems too fishy I decided to file a police report for the credit card which was NOT mine and they have left me alone.

Just today I received a messge on my cell exactly the same as the ones posted here- saying a summons for me to appear in court would be issued by the process server if I did not agree to pay a portion of a past debt. They said I would loose in court, pay legal fees, etc etc. They did provide their information and contact numbers but the same gentle man was answering his personal line as well as the "888" line. They insisted there was no funny business. HERE IS THE CURRENT NUMBER AND ADDRESS THEY ARE OPERATING OUT OF AS OF SEPT. 12, 2001    888-863-5219   714-597-7509     one gentlemans name was Henry Reed and the other was Alexander Moss. They yell at you, call your parents and unfortunately I did offer my debit card information only to learn immediately after of their scam. Luckily I blocked any transactions on my bank card and they were unable to process any funds which infuriated them even more. They are harrassing and are frauds. I personally told them Id see them in court and would be notifying the CA A/G office and that mad them the most mad!!  Lets do something to stop these folks from preying on people who are already just trying to make it day to day!

I recently received a phone call from California, stating that a bad debt  I paid off in 2008, was still outstanding.  Like you, the person stated that the balance due is $1700 and litigation will commence unless I paid this amount.  The phone no. used is 888-753-3849 and the fax is 714-597-7538.  My attorney is mailing me documentation supporting the fact that the debt has indeed been paid in full.  Sounds very strange.

Got a phone call today threatening court proceedings and a huge $4000.00 fine for a credit card balance. Was told to call 1-888-753-3849 and give a case #.  Talked to a Richard Harris from Pristine financial Group, Santa Anna, Ca.  Also gave me his direct line at  714-597-7522.  What a scam!

Hey there we have received the same crap from these guys....  This clown threatens court and a 2200 fine that will reach over 4000 dollars unless I pay them tonite... or go to court in a day from now....  Duh what an a** clown...

I am glad that i did not have these people automatically withdraw from my checking account.  I will tho, try to get intouch with Orchard Bank, the card I truly forgot about, and make arrangements to pay them. I am sick to death that this company got $140.00 from me for nothing...I can't even afford that these days, as I too have been sick, and am on a limited income...i sent them 4 checks, I am guessing I should change my checking account..any comments?
