They keep calling me to attemp to collect my X husband's debt.We have been divorced for 6 years now and my cell phone was never associated with him.I wonder where they got my # from?

The same thing just happened to my husband, last week. They threathened ny husband in taking him to court for a very old credit card account. They also told him that they were going to garnish wages from his paycheck. My husband  gave them our bank info, they drafted 500. 00 and they are planning to take 1500.00 next week from our bank acccount. First they said they were from steinberg & associates, I just checked my bank account, and it says westfield & associates. I really think we got scammed!

Update....."Alex Martin" called my office again and rattled off the last 4 digits of my social.   He demanded to know if that is me.  I asked for his address and very fast, he said it but I couldn't understand as he was talking so fast.   He finally said that he was going to just talk to my boss and slammed the phone down.   I called back and asked the person that answered the phone the address and he gave it to me.  Its 2967 Michelson Suite G627, Irvine, CA  92612.   I plan to file a complaint.

I got a similar call today.  Someone stating to be with the US Marshall's office called my office stating have orders to serve me today.   I was given a number and said they will hold it for 2 hours but I should call the person filing suit.   I called and was transferred around and then got this "Alex Martin" on the phone.  He spoke so fast and when I pressed him to tell me the name of the "firm" he was calling from, He said "Steinberg Law Firm"  He rattled off the address and when I asked him to slow down, he said "what are you doing ma'am, Checking the validity of my firm?  THIS IS A VALID CALL AND YOU ARE BEING SUED TODAY"  He kept putting me on hold and would be more aggressive every time he returned.   On one of the holds, I hung up because I realized that he wasn't legit.   He also told me that he called at work because he can't reach me at home.   I have never received anything in writing from these people and have no clue what he is calling about.   I think the credit freeze is a great idea.   His number is 855-339-8861.

I have received calls frm a processing agency who claims there were attemps 2 deliver a supoena for me 2 apper in court regarding a closed bank acct. I was then giving a number case & another number 2 call update my recent address & told I was being charged with fraud because this acct has bee on check systems 4 four years unpaid. Ph number giving was a 18776602131n and was told 2 give case number 2 whom ever answered.I was 2 being chrg criminal charges By USBank unless payment agreement maid. According 2 Fair Debt Act, my Civil Rights were infringed upon due 2 scare tactics used by Hampton B Westfield. I will be contact Bar Asc, Medicare, & a place in Ca tht specializes in this type of scenerios. I also looked up state Ordinances in which were violated as well. Papers were emailed 2 me by this company 2 fax back 2 them with credit card info & tentative agreement I was coerced 2 agree 2 due 2 anxiety, stress, disability, & fraud on credit report, even jail time. They also used 3rd party recognitition

After reading the above posts, i believe i just got scammed.   i spoke to some lady threatening me w/taking me to court for 10k.....   in account i've had with HSBS- Levitz......  she said that they would garnish my check/put a lean on my car and house.   i didnt believe them at first but she mentioned everything in my account which i then assumed they this is real,

"Alex Martin" with what sounded like "WS Associates" contacted my husband's workplace today stating that he needed to speak with my husband ASAP. Said he needed to serve papers to him and that his wages would be garnished. Said the same as everyone above...going to garnish for 9 years, 13K debt to Wells Fargo for card numnber (would only supply 4 digits only), wouldn't listen about the card being paid in full and closed over 4 years ago (which is outside of the statute of limitations for Texas), threatened to file suit (which a 3rd party can't do..only the orginial creditor can do that), acted as a lawyer and stated that he found him at work, and could find him at home. He was very threatening. I contacted GreenPath which is a nonprofit credit consultant.  She instructed me to tell "Alex" that we have consulted our attorney and that all communication moving forward is required to be done via mail and that we'd see him in court because we're not paying. We contacted our family attorney who attempted to talk to "Alex". He was overly aggressive and put her on hold.  The connection was lost. I have filed a complaint with the BBB (Westfield is not registered), FTC and California AG's office, which is where the number "Alex" called from is located: 949 379 5903. He had my husband's SSN and debt history with lenders.  We will probably do a credit freeze and ID Theft police report.

Westfield & associates left me a VM on my cell phone (blocked number) with my ss#, address, & a case #. They threatened me with 20 years garnished wages, taking my tax refunds, & more.  This was in reference to a very old car note.

Called from a blocked number and left a message at my cousins house, saying he was looking for me and going to file an SC100 (civil law suit), left a ref number. He sounded really flaky. I dont owe anyone anything, get over yourselves. You are violating the debt collection laws of the USA. Find a new job because the place your working at now, wont be around much longer with the way you are treating people. Just google what happened to Ellis, Crosby and Associates. Oh, also he left personal information on someones voice mail and he did not even know if I lived there or was that person, that's illegal. Reporting to the FTC. I guess that's why they call from a blocked number.

For future reference folks:

-If someone is going to file a lawsuit against you, they don't call you to tell you.
-What they are doing is VERY illegal so report them to the BBB.
- They are trying to scare you into paying.

I received a phone call today on my cell phone and returned a call to Westield Associates at 877-804-6578. Hey left me a case number and I spoke to a "Pamela Jones" and "Derick". They told me I owe a bunch of money for an old HSBC account. I contacted HSBC directly, because I have never had an account with them before.  HSBC verified...no accounts in my name ever!!! I called them back told them they were getting nothing from me and I was contacting Law enforcement. "Derick" terminated the call. When I called again to speak to them, "Derick" told me to not call back again and that I am harassing them!

just received call from Westfield and a**'s said they would be serving me with summons, said house card from 2001 don't know what they r talking about cause i have good credit but i will be reporting them to FTC, not sure who they r but their office didn't sound very professional yelling from across room in Spanish to get file with my case number. I got a call from a blocked caller claiming to be from the clerk of courts saying they were on the way to sserve me w/a summons (to a 6yrs ago address, which I of course did not correct them on).
They provided me with a refernce no. & the "plaintiffs" fone #. 866.599.0419. When I called it they answered as "corporate", I asked what company & got Westfield & Assoc... I'm in Ohio.

I received a phone call from a Bill Clark saying he was a process server trying to serve a civil summons for Westfield & Assoc.and he was trying to reach my daughter. He even left a reference number and said to call 1-866-599-0419.  My daughter is 31 yo and lives in another city and married. I have no idea how they even got my number. I returned the phone call, of course no one knew who Bill Clark was. I was then sent to Alex Martin who said he was the director of operations "for now" and that my daughter needed to call him back. He gave me his direct line which is 949-379-5903. So we definitely believe this is a huge scam !!

I just got a crazy call too today!!! 10/2/2012 from Westfield and Assoc claiming a bank  they can not even pronounce properly I never got a name but some irate man yelling at me telling me "LISTEN MA'AM THIS IS NOT A RIDDLE GAME YOU WANT TO GET SUED OR SETTLE NOW" i kind of chuckled he got too angry to fast... but the number i got was 18665990419

"Peter" with "Westfield & Associates" called my work today. I called him back from my cell phone and asked him to not call my work again. He told me I owe Chase bank and he is giving me a chance to settle outside of court. I would not give him any of my information and told him he could email me something from Chase showing I owe Chase money. He emailed me a word document explaining if my payment is not recieved in full by the end of that day it will be turned over to the court. He then got rude and I ended up hanging up on him. He then called my work again and I told him if he calls my work again I will call the police. I have not heard anything else. He used the address "16027 BROOKHURST ST. I507. FOUNTAIN VALLY. CA 92708".

SCAM COMPANY - Pretend to be process servers but are really debt collectors. DO NOT FALL FOR THIS FRAUD.   They may be associated with Cecile Landnu and Hubert Landnu (probably fake names) but if you know who or where these people are post it so we can send some goons to hunt them down.

I just now cut through the CHASE myself. This nut job contacted me too and they said I had a big outstanding balance with CitiBank....One small problem.....I never had a credit card with CitiBank. I was asked to send money to 16027 Brookhurst St. Suite i-507 Fountain Valley, CA 92708.
So I went down to my local CitiBank and was sitting down with a banking rep and they ran my SS number and nothing under my name or SS# ever cam up. They even called their creditcard unit to prove I never had a card with them. So Beware of these crooks. Don't confirm or give out any of your personal information.  I also went to the police department and I will speak with a fraud detective.
If you get anything in the mail ...don't panic...PROVE IT OUT In EVERY WAY!

I too received a message of this sort directed to my ex-husband, whom I have been divorced from for 20 years.  They claim to be "Corporate Offices". The message is highly threatening (which is illegal if this is not real or is an attempt at debt collection), reports a summons is being sent, and advises to contact legal counsel.  Interested too if there is further information about the validity of this call/message.

I am receiving calls from a Jeffery Taylor claiming to work for legal claim services but number comes up unknown on the caller I'd..said its a legal matter & leaves this number w a ref #. I call it & its a voice mail recording saying they r Westfield & associates and that they can answer the call but leave a message...I've searched online to find any clue as to who they r & find nothing!! Anyone getting calls from them??
