This is American Education Services. A student loan collector

Just like others have said this number is for a collection agency for AES. I've had nothing but problems with them since they took over servicing of my student loans as I'm sure many others have. They refuse to process my in school deferment or work with me on affordable payments. Just a helpful tip for anyone receiving phone calls you can write the company a cease and desist letter stipulating that no phone calls can be made (and specify the numbers) and that all future attempts to contact you should be made in writing. You can find basic forms and wording online just do a google search. Unlike other's experiences they only call me during business hours which means my phone is ringing all day while I'm at work.

If you do not have student loans and they are calling you, it could be because you were given as a reference by the person who took out the loan - however, you just have to tell them you don't know where the person is and you no longer want them calling that number and they are SUPPOSE to stop. I have some private student loans that we took out to survive on while going through some financial issues and even though I'm paying what I can on the loans, it's not enough so I get the call regularly. They have continually called my parents in trying to get contact information on me and my dad told them if he received one more call, he was going to sue them (because it is against the law). I did have one NCO agent who was extremely helpful and explained to me how to "get around" the past due calls by paying one loan one month and the other the next. So far it has worked and I only get 1 phone call every now and then.

AES is one of the worse companies to work with. I hate them. I would never recommend anyone getting a student loan from a private company. They don't care if you were on your death bed, and they won't work out any workable solutions for payment. Does anyone know of any reputable companies that will consolidate private student loans?

have no idea who this is.calls early in the morn or in the evening. not during business hours.

I have made every payment to AES for my Chase student loan, all of a sudden all of my payments don't work and they blame it on my bank. I check all possible avenues and all has been handled correctly, the same as every previous payment. SO I mail checks directly to Chase Student Loan Servicing and have the canceled checks. Now I get calls starting at 5:30 am until evening, all day long! I have threatened them to file complaints and am now looking for a lawyer to sue them for harrassment. I have held up my end of paying my payments and have had it up to my eyeballs with AES! If anyone knows of a good lawyer in LA please send me the name!

Here is what you do -- Make up a name, use it consistently. When these people call and ask for "john doe" or whatever about a "personal matter", state they have reached "Tom Jones" or whatever name you are using with these people. They will ask if you know "john doe" and you will say "I was just given this number when I moved here". They will say they are sorry and your number will magically disappear. When and if you have real contact with the jerks responsible for the CA calls, you will always tell them "you have NO PHONE" and ALWAYS CALL FROM A PAYPHONE or other service they can't benefit from receiving the number via ANI - Auto Number Identification.
They can't legally require you to have a phone # or to give it to them AND they CANNOT LEGALLY discuss any financial matter with a third party - i.e. "Tom Jones" and must end discussion with you - if they tell you anything more, they can be legally in trouble for disclosure of a financial matter of "john doe" with someone who is not him, especially after you volunteer the name "Tom Jones" to them during the conversation so they know they have a wrong number. You can even say "get calls all the time, he must have had it before I got it", works perfectly. I should write a book, so I would not be so unemployed.

I had this number call me and leave a message during the day. It was a man singing in a high voice saying "baby...your so fine" over and over again for about 2 minutes. I don't even have any debts....so I don't know why this agency would be calling me!
incredulous 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
Well - I am glad I checked here. I have received 7 phone calls on my cell phone today from 1-888-379-3776. For what? For a payment of $ 25 that was one month late due to the holidays. they spent more than that trying to call me and track me down. Incredulous and ridiculous. Really glad I checked here.
I never ever answer phone calls from strange phone numbers - most especially if they don't leave messages. too wierd and too creepy. That is what this has been.

I am still in school have not left school and they call my parents house every day from early in the morning till 9pm at night, including weekends. I have talked to them and told them that all my student loans were setup to be deferred until I was thru with college and was told that it was not true and that I had been misinformed by the bank that orginiated my loan. My parents are thinking of disconnecting their phone service due to them. There has to be something that can be done to get rid of them!!!!

I get calls to my home and to my cell phone from this number but they do not leave a message. This leads me to believe its some sort of solicitation because solicitors are generally not allowed to leave messages. If they can't leave a message, they most certainly do not deserve my time.
mb 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
this individual calls multiple times in a day on my cell phone. no idea who it is. does not leave a message. who is it?
Sara 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
This number called me and left a blank voice message. I called this number back and it sounded like the person said "Thank you for calling NCO". Have no idea.
jay 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
I called the number back and They say Thank you for calling NCM
Chris 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
Its a collections agency called NCO. Trying to collect on behalf of AES for student loans.
I just called them back and flipped on them for calling me at 5:30 in the morning
SE 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
I called and made a payment and set up payment plans and forberence and they still call. they even call my reference saying that dont have my right number, but yet when i call them they do. I call back and all it does is give me a greating and hangs up!!!
gymbomom 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
NCO is just the collection agency that handles accounts for AES. They do not care if your loans are now in deferment or if they are paid off. IF AES does not report those things to them they will keep calling time after time day after day. Trust me we have this problem as well.
Colin 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
they keep calling me all day long as well. I have my bills on defferment from AES due to unemployment. After calling AES and asking them if I owed them any money while on deferment and getting a no answer. They still call. I will not be picking up.
Jessica 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
They call at least six times a day every day from 7 a.m. until 10 p.m. I've applied for an in-school deferment with AES, but NCO still calls. I explained to one of the reps that I'm back in school and my loans should be on deferment and he told me that just because I'm back in school doesn't mean I can stop paying my bills. He told me I had been misinformed.
Johnny 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
They've called my office 3-6 times a day every day for the past week. Unfortunately for them I spend most of my day on the road. They are a debt collection agency. Its almost worse to deal with these guys (who have been rated an F in customer service and customer satisfaction by many different sources) than to deal with the fact that im in debt anyway.
Leigh 2011-06-06 21:05:28 Unknown
It is infact a collection for AES. I had lost my job and became lack of funds, so it was no surprise they called. It satrted become a nonsense and I really got frustrated trying to ignore the number a billion times a day. I called them back and prompty received assistance. Hopefully, this call back will damper the calls I receive, if not cancel them all together. I even asked before I got off with the young lady if the calls will stop, and she said she'll be sure my name is taken off.

I get calls from this number. When I call back I get put on hold.

Very rude and disrespectful completely! I am already making student loan payments and they call to collect more money. Don't these people know what its like now a days?
Tyler 2009-01-21 02:11:17 Unknown
Student Load Agency..... Looking for payment..... Even if you don't have one..... Annoying.....
gymbomom 2008-12-30 16:34:08 Unknown
They are NCO a collection agency.
annoyed1 2008-12-03 22:01:03 Unknown
They have been calling me every hour on the hour for the past 3 days. I don't answer, and they don't leave a message. Who is this? And how can we make the calls stop?
nina 2008-11-25 16:44:24 Unknown
Also have received this call. Husband has a student loan. Going to assume its collection agency
