got a call from this number saying his name was Mr. Lopez from check recovery services. said to call back @ this number. I called this number back and it was a fax line!

Called my job saying they are with check recovery and started to threaten me saying they were going to take me to court or gunish my check if i aint pay them some money one said his name was Jerry Turner and another guy i spoke with said his name was Ronald Ronald

Got a call from Mr. Hardy saying he was trying to help get someone named Tina Jenkins out of jail and wanted my daughter to contact him if she knew Tina Jenkins.  Gave me a case # for a court case tha may or may not be legitimate.  My daughter does not know Tina Jenkins.

I've been getting two calls from them a day.  The guy said he was from check recovery services and his name was Jerry Turner. He transferred me to some woman who started yelling at me and told me i needed to give her my debit card number or she was going to file a summons on me by the end of the day and i would have to go to court, seek legal council, and owe $1500 for legal fees!!

I had a lady by the name of Mrs.Banks call me and threaten to send a summons out to me at my place of residence and my place of employment. Well I am a stay at home mom so I do not have a place of employment. I hate calling these people back because they are so rude and mean.

people these idiots can not threaten you on the phone its illegal only a law firm can tell you they will have your check garnish just ignore them.
if you owe them money you should try to pay them back if you can. always pay or mortgage or rent and utilities bill first and make sure you have food for the month..they can not tell you your going to be arrested,if you can tape there calls and they can be fined for there abuse and you can get some of that money most lawyers keep 75 percent and you get 25 percent usally fines can be 1,000.00 dollars,hey if you can make 250.00 off of there abuse..why not

If you got so much proof, get a lawyer, call the attorney generals office, but you should be more concerned with the CRIME of writing a BAD CHECK! Insted of worring about someone trying to figure out how to get you to meet your obligation.DEBTOR!!! , AND YES.I am a debt collector in Buffalo!

They can't do what they're threatening, you can report them to the police or your state attorney general.

You have to understand that many (not all, but many) of the people who are in the collections business are simply unqualified to do any other kind of work, they have no idea about the laws under which they are supposed to operate, and many are ex-cons to begin with. Deal with them accordingly. Once they make these kinds of threats, you don't have to give them anything.

I have been paying off my debts, slowly but surely, because that is all I can do. I make small monthly payments, now I'm getting phone calls from these people threatening to send me to jail for fraud. I'm a single mother of three, trying to repair past mistakes, but I do not appreciate people threatening to send me to jail. This company says they are litigating for CashNet.com I owed them 639 dollars but have paid 264 of it back, but now this company wants 339 in a week or they say they will issue a felony warrant in my county. A summons? Yes, a court appearance summons maybe but only if the debt is valid. You collector schmucks make it sound like an arrest warrant, which by the way would not happen at all. It is a civil matter, not criminal. You idiots call it a docket, warrant, proceeding, case file, etc. ad nauseum. We are not scared of you, the money is in OUR pocket and it will STAY there, SKUMBAGS. We hold the power, YOU must answer OUR questions! Very rude, made legal threats despite my having informed that I had cleared up my matter and having provided payment receipt information. Insisted I was lying and refused to stop calling my office/mobile, and said that I needed to pay now.

Just got call from my mother-in-law in other state (!) telling me they called looking for me. I'm fortunate - I don't have any outstanding bills and I certainly don't have any bad checks out there, so I don't know who or what they are. I'm p***ed off about this. I'm glad I found their address so I can demand something in writing from them and tell them to no longer try to call me. This is ridiculous. I haven't gotten any calls from this company at my home, so since the whole thing sounded fishy to me, I looked them up.

Maybe you should think about how they try and con people.  I don't think you pay all your bills.  You probably work for the company anyway.  Think before you speak.  Also they should think before they call.  They have been checked out in all ways.  Also, you can go to court, and the judge will make the decision, but if you file bankruptcy they won't get a dime, and as far as assets, their are no assets attached to checks from loan companies.  This company thinks everyone is a complete idiot.  Well it seems that people are smarter than they are.  I have had them call me, and I just let them think I am an idiot.

I got a phone call from a ryan brown, and he told me that I would be summoned to court.  He did not give me any details of any debt that I owed, but gave a case number.

They called my mom, my mom's friend, and my aunt saying that i owe money and advised that i get a lawyer because i was being sued. I was so scared until my mom told me it was a scam and to type the number into google, thats when this site came up and I knew it was a scam. They would have had me because I always try and pay off everything because when I get out of school I will already have mounds of debt thanks to student loans.

crs,is not a scam they use investigative methods to process and locate
the consumer and help consolidate their credit with overpassed balances
to improve the cosumer credit.their duties aer quite skeletial and they
do have the right to issue out the services of summons for writting bad chks and insufficat funds that is intent to defraud a financial instution
and you can not do that you guys better start checking the laws and the statutes

I got a call from this guy named Mr Mitchell from this same number...he said i was going to jail for a felony check charge if i didn't pay....i just wanna say where is my summons a***ole? I got the call months ago and nothing....these guys can kiss my a** and i'm going to get paid big off of their theiving a***s\

You're right... I also had an excellent experience with this company. The whole Dateline special was just to point out some of the bad seeds and make awareness. This company is not the one that was featured on Dateline and if anyone had done their research or paid attention to the program they would realize that the Buffalo, NY area has more collection agencies than anywhere else in the entire country.
