if life source is bugging you I've found the best way to get them to leave you alone is just to tell them you got a new tattoo.

This is Life Source again, again, and again. A company that "pretends" to be so compassionate, yet NEVER stops calling you, even if you beg them to stop, or threaten them with legal action! They are making a killing getting our blood for peanuts and then selling it for huge profits! They keep calling and calling and calling ----- I am on a do not call list, please stop calling me. Please take this phone number off your list. They keep calling. The person you are looking for does not live here, please stop calling. They keep calling! I am filing a report with the FCC and the National Do Not Call Registry, and they keep calling. I suffer from sleep deprivation and they are making my life a living HELL! It seems that every time I finally manage to fall asleep, they call again! Sometimes I lay in bed wide awake and cry. Sleep deprivation is used illegally by our government and is considered a crime against humanity. I am actively looking for a lawyer to pursue harassment charges against these scum bags! Does any one know a good percentage lawyer in the Chicago northern suburbs who will take this case? Maybe a class action law suit would also be applicable here! There are thousands of citizens that are having these criminals constantly harass them and their loved ones! Why doesn't any one stop them?

Life source just keeps calling ---- We told them we are on a do not call list, we told them that the person they are looking for does not live here, we told them that the should take us off their calling list ---- we begged them to stop, we screamed at them to stop, and we threatened to sue them to stop, but  the calls "still" just keep coming! Where can one find a lawyer so that I can sue these A**holes? I am serious as hell! I have been woken up more times than I can count! I suffer from sleep deprivation and If these calls keep coming I am going to kill myself ---- and then these A**holes can have all my blood! And also, maybe then my family could sue them for millions! Gary --- A rapist is a rapist even if he does good deeds, a murderer is a murderer even if he does good deeds, and a criminal telemarketer is a criminal telemarketer even if he does good deeds, Gary! Hitler gave money to many charities, so are you thinking it was okay for him to kill a few Jewish people. WTF kind of logic is that "Gary"? I would lay money on it that Life Source is making a bundle of money off that donated blood Gary! They are no Saints! They are a cold and calculating corporation out to make as much money as they can and screw you and me and everyone else. The donors are terrific people, but Life Source is just another criminal business run by criminals who only care about making tons of money from "other peoples" sacrifices! Stop that they are wonderful SH*T!!! You are not kidding any one!!! Gary, thank the donor for helping your brother, dont thank these Blood money Criminals!

I get that it is important to donate... but when I went to donate my blood they told me that I was black listed because I was born in eastern europe during some sort of plague. So basically, they won't take my blood but they won't stop asking for it. MAKE UP YOUR FREAKING MIND! Since my place of birth isn't going to change anytime soon, I suggest you just give up on trying to get an ineligible person to donate their blood, and leave me alone.

If dontating blood is so important, then maybe those who need it best tell the American Red Cross to stop harrassing people so they might donate. This constant calling when told to stop does nothing but hope every person who needs blood dies so we can enjoy our evenings in peace without the American Red Cross calling ten times a day. Besides, ARC couldn't care less about those in need, they just want to make money, hence thier executives have limos and private jets.

I actually like getting a call the day before to remind me of my pending appnt.

In their defense, they are an excellent community resource and all you have to do is ask them to change the calls or remove your name.

This is our local toll-free Lifesource Blood Donation center calling to solicit donations.  I know it is them when they call.  If I have time to donate, I do, but when I don't I tell them.  They did try calling me on my cell phone during the day after I didn't answer their calls at home.  I told them to remove my cell # from their records and the person on the phone told me that they could only put a "hold" on it for six months.  I told them that I would put a hold on my donations for six months if they called me on my cell # again.  I called them back at a local number and spoke with a supervisor who removed my cell # and I haven't received a call on my cell again.  I think if these people who call from toll-free #s would just put their organization on the caller id instead of making it a big mystery, they would get better responses.  There, now I've vented, and I feel a little bit better.

Ah, Lifesource...*shakes head*

My husband and I get pestered by them A LOT...not just because they have constant shortages, but because he and I both have O+ blood.  The day we become eligible after our last donation, they start calling.  They actually called 4 times one day last month when I was at a convention, the last time being well after 8pm.  I picked up the phone then, and told them I would be unavailable to donate because I did not want to risk passing on "con plague." (That, and Aunt Flo had just begun her visit that night, so I was not planning on scheduling an appointment for at LEAST a week!)

Well, apparently to them, "unavailable to donate" means just waiting a couple of weeks before trying again.  They called again on May 29th while I was at dinner (it had to be after 8pm by then), and they just tried calling me again a few minutes ago.  Eyeah.  I don't mind the calls when they're actually during the DAY, but this late?  That just makes me think they're telemarketing at that point.

There is nothing self-absorbed about not wanting to receive numerous phone calls every day from anyone, let alone someone who is asking for volunteer services from you. It's inconvenient to have your phone ringing constantly, and it's obnoxious to others if you work in a place like I do where a receptionist takes and transfers all calls. I have recently begun donating with Heartland Blood Centers because of the excessive calling from Lifesource.

My issue is that they call me repeatedly whether or not I have appointments scheduled--the only time they don't is within the 8 weeks after I donate, and then they begin up again within a day or two of me being able to donate again. I'm not sure what the problem is, but no matter how many times I tell them I've already scheduled an appointment, they continue to call (sometimes as late as 9 PM on weekdays). Also, I've asked them not to call my work number, and they continue to call if I do not answer my cell phone.

They have called me 3 times today with an automated request for a donation, and I have a platelet donation scheduled in 6 days. There is no reason for this, and congeniality isn't helping. I would recommend a different donation center. If you're in the Chicago area, Heartland is actually very good.

Donating blood is a volunteer service, and it's wonderful that people choose to do it. It's unfortunate that Lifesource is making people question their choice to donate.

I donate blood frequently and frankly don't appreciate this tactic. People should not be bullied or harassed into donating. It is a very worthy cause however this annoyance should not be rewarded.

To date, I receive an average of 4 phone calls a day on my cell phone from LifeSource. After every 50th phone call, a LifeSource representative will leave me a voicemail. Every message is a script being read so quickly I can't understand majority of what of being said.

The last time I donated blood with LifeSource, I made an appointment with a representative over the phone to donate at their Lake Bluff location. When I arrived for my appointment the Lake Bluff location had no record of my appointment and seemed rather put out that I showed up at the end of the day.

While I was donating, I was informed the next date I would be eligible to donate would be the day after my wedding. I informed them I would be on my honeymoon and would call them after I returned when my schedule returned to a state of normalcy. They seemed to understand however this didn't stop them from calling me every day on my honeymoon starting at 5:00 am local time. The calls would then continue throughout the day.

For the first 3 days, I answered the phone and explained the situation and reiterated I would call them to make an appointment when I returned home. They would apologize however this didn't prevent the phone calls that have continued to this day.

By the very definition of the word, this is harassment. This harassment has been going on for months and they will NOT remove my cell phone number from their calling list. LifeSource has officially pissed me off and has lost me as a donor. I still donate however I donate with the Red Cross. The Red Cross has yet to call me or attempt harassing me into donating.

Lifesource won't stop calling me either.  They call me at work, even though I've REPEATEDLY asked them to take me off their list.  This has now reached the point of harrassment, where I guess I have to go to one of their donation centers & confront them, face-to-face.  It's really a shame that they cannot leave you alone.   I almost passed out when I donated blood, but they won't take that for an answer.

they have been calling me about 3~5 times a day for the past 3 months without stopping.... i hate 800 and 888 numbers so i dont pick up and who would have thought it was lifesource. it is truly driving me insane with my phone ringing when i am in class or meetings. what irritates me more is that i get voicemails [i hate checking voicemails] and when i DO check it, it is quiet. i found it super creepy but thank you! i just changed my personal info at their website! i did not even know they had such a complete info about me... hopefully they dont call me anymore!

i understand that they are doing a great work to help many and that their work should be appreciated, but calling someone everyday is just tiring and annoying.

888/427-4836 is the number for "LifeSource, Chicagoland's Blood Center." And, while my family and I do believe in their cause, to get people to give blood, which is a very simple way to give some very important help, we don't believe in their methods. It really is harassment; they call at least 3-4 times a day and no one likes to be beaten over the head. So their approach is losing us. I just don't answer. Here's to a great 2008, happy and healthy, to whomever reads this.

They call all the time especially on weekends. They never leave a message. My They call us 5 times a week or more (though it seems to ebb and flow. This apparently all because our son donated blood to LifeSource 4 years ago. They won't talk to us, and when he's tried to tell them to take him off the call list they always promise they will and then the calls start up again after a brief lull. They are really harrassing us. I've tried reporting them to the FTC do not call list complaint site, but they'll probably claim immunity (no pun intended) because my sone was a "customer" and therefore an automatic (lifetime, it seems) "Opt-in" victim.
