I think I'll call them from a payphone.  Then they have to pay the 35 cents.

I also saw a truck on Craig's list that was listed as $4900 and the lady said she was recently divorced and did not need the truck. She said it was ready with google wallet and would be shipped after I wire the money to wallet. I went to Google Wallet's website and it said that they do not use any type of money transfers or bank wire.

I was going to purchase a 2007 Acura TL Type-S tan leather - $4700 from craigslist, through google wallet. They sent me a invoice that looks correct, but when I called and started asking questions, they hung up one me.  After further checking, IT IS ANOTHER SCAM.  Buyer beware!!!

I was going to purchase a truck from a lady who said she was doing it through google wallet. I was actually going to send the money but thankfully money gram wouldn't let me do it without proof of ID for who I was sending it to!  Talked to some indian dude named "peter" but when I called and told him the situation he hung up on me.  I think its b***s*** that ppl can get away with this!

I, too, was looking to purchase a skid loader that was originally listed on Craigslist.  The listing was pulled but not before I sent an inquiry about my interest in the item.  The seller was supposedly a divorced mom who moved to NE to 'start a new life' and just wanted to get rid of it.  I was provided what appeared to be a realistic invoice with Google Wallet on it along with BBB and A+ rating.  The only payment accepted was wired money from my bank which I never did as I quickly figured out this was 'too good to be true'.  I called Google Wallet who confirmed it was a scam and then called the number on the invoice.  When I challenged them as to the credibility of this entire transaction, they hung up.  How can they get away with this?  Can anyhing be done to penalize the individuals responsible for ripping off people?

This number is used by Craigslist scammers. I was looking at purchasing a tractor from the seller. They wanted to use Google Wallet. I asked to see and invoice and they sent me a very realistic invoice. I called the 800 number on the invoice to verify the sale and an overseas individual answered and validated the invoice! I then went to Google Wallet's actual site (http://wallet.google.com) and went to the contact section. When doing this, Google calls your phone number on record to discuss the situation with you. I explained what was happening and they verified it was a scam.

This is a very well organized and thought out scam and if they are actually getting wire transfers it is federal offense because it crossed state lines.
