Just got a call at my office phone (company is in Stamford, CT) from Brian Mack of Paulson - source caller ID is 1-732-974-1509. Spring Lake, NJ. Won't call back, alerted our internal security folks to see about blocking that caller ID from our system.

Got a call on my cell phone from a Brian Mack at Paulson. He asked to call him back at 888-462-6444. Did not call back. Caller ID showed a 732-974-1526. Sounds fishy to me.

Brian Mack is a manager at Paulson Investments Company (a supposed full service brokerage firm). He cold-called me too. Since I work in an accounting firm with high net worth individuals, I thought he was calling to get me to get my clients to invest with him, but it turned out that he wanted me personally to invest with him. I let him send me his marketing package, but nothing differentiated his firm with any other firms out there and I decided not to bother. Why use an unknown firm like Paulson when you can use a reputable firm that everyone has heard of?
I'm not sure how he got my phone number, but I do not take his calls any more since I'm not interested. Their website looks legit, but could be another Madoff-type set up, so why take the risk? Hopefully this helps.

Just got called by "Mark Goldman from Paulson" at my work number, referred to me by name and asked I call back at 888-462-6444. Unfortunately in my line of work I can't determine if people are legitimate or not and called the number. An operator picked up and said it was "Paulson Investment Company" and I said I got a call from 'Mark' and she said 'OK' and then the line went dead. Caller ID was blocked.
