They will not quit calling you job. They won't quit calling mine and will not give me any info on the collection or send anything to my address which I will not give them because they are a joke if they had my info they could send it without varifing all my information.

My mother in law got a call from a Chioma, phone number 888-505-1573 ext: 4190. I do not understand how or why they would be calling my mother in law asking for my dad who has nothing to do with her. Obviously these people don't have anything better to do with their time than to harrass people who arent even realted nor even have hardly any idea about the other person.

I just got a call from this number today. First, there was a lady at the other end with a funny English accent. She sounded Russian to me. She told me she was collecting the full amount of my balance from my Home Depot Loan. My balance was $2000 something. And I was shocked to learn this because I didn't get any notice from Home Depot that they had submitted my account for collection. But they continue to send me monthly billings of $77, which I always pay off at the store. So, I asked her how was it possible that they put my account for collection without notifying me? She said they've been trying to notify us, via mail, eight times already. I asked at what address? She gave me my physical home address -- not my mailing address which is a P.O. box. So, I thought that was funny and asked her why Home Depot didn't give them my mailing address when they always bill me at that address! She asked for my mailing address. I gave it to her and now regretted it. To cut the story short, she gave the phone to a man, claiming to be the manager, because I refused to pay the full amount today over the phone. The one thing that suspected me that this was a scam was the fact that they wanted me to pay over the phone by asking for my credit card number. So, I told them, I'd call Home Depot first to verify if my account was really up for collection. And he said I could verify it but I have to pay first. LOL. He probably thought I was stupid. But I got him dancing in my hands.

I asked for his contact number and this is he gave me:

888-505-1573 extension 4406.

His name was Kyle Winton. I forgot the name of the lady I spoke before him. He wanted me to settle this now, asking me to pay $200 first then later changed it to $350 when I asked for his mailing address. He said he'd give me his company's mailing address if I pay $350. LOL. And this was going to be done over the phone by giving him my credit card information! What was he thinking?

I just hanged up the phone on him. It was clearly a scam. DO NOT BE FOOLED!

They are spoofing numbers.  If you call the number back it goes back to URS.  This is a violation of the Truth in Caller ID act of 2010.

A person named Monica Hickman keeps calling for my sister in law who lives in Seattle (we are in LA), even though she has never given out our own number

I've gotten four calls in the last 2 days from this same number. All of them did not leave a message except one that simply played a recording of the song "Sea of Love". I was starting to think I had a stalker until I read this post. Why would they only leave a bizarre song message and not a real one. That is certainly not going to make me call them back. The whole thing is just creepy.

This is a debt Collector, United Recovery Systems

This is in response to your post.  There have been many calls to my relatives house for me from URS.  They have left messages with them saying they are from a drug and alcohol rehab center or a law office, etc.  The number is 888-505-1573.
I have put in writing they are not to contact any relative or send them mail.  They have my current address and phone number.  I am making payments to them but they have threatend me over the phone and harrasing my family.  They are calling my parents who are handicapt and leaving messages w/ them.  They also call at all hours.  I am not there and yet they call their number and wake them up at all early hours in the morning and late at night.

They actually are spoofing a number here in OK. 918 895 9000, but the recording gives the 888 #

Yes, a number of 516-620-9571 called me at work on 5/11/10.  They said they were a debt collector from United Recovery Systems.  I told them that I am not allowed calls at my place of business.  I see that URS is located in Texas, so there is no way they were at a 516 area code.  I think that they are spoofing phone numbers.  The 516-620-9571 also called my work again today, 5/11.  I did not pick it up and they didn't leave a message.  I think this about an American Express card for $200.00 that I defaulted on.  I will have to send them a cease and disist letter from contacting me by telephone.

Yes, I got this same lady leaving the same message and number....  weird...

I told him the reason I was returning the dozens of phone spams he was responsible for. He then hung up on me.  I immdialey call back and a lady was good enough to transfer a blind call to Felix. I left him a nice message Im in the proecess of completeting a BBB claim for this company and naming Mr Rabago. A quick background search reveals interesting information about this person. I cant provide details yet i can say its worth looking into.   I will provide an update.

These people call my office several times a day. Usually they are not on the phone when we answer (probably using some sort of robo dialer) when they actually on the line when I answered they asked for an employee who hasn't worked here in years. When I told them that they hung up. But that hasn't stopped them from calling my office all day.

1 888 505 1573 Ext 4987 just called my husbands cell phone.  The woman would not give her name or say what it was about, just to call Michael Ward.  LOL Like my husband is going to do that!  My husband gave me the phone # so I could look it up to see if I could find complaints which I did.

We have 2 credit cards, fair credit and are not behind on any payments.  What happened in the passed was about 7 or more years ago and all that had statues of limitations on them.

Not to mention that I am going to send that CEASE & DESIST letter because the phone is listed in my son in laws name, not ours, so in reality, he's contacted the wrong number!  I wish these people would get a job they can be proud off, hounding people for money is not that great of a job and NOTHING to be proud of!

I got a call from a local area cell phone, at work, and told them I was not here and asked if they wanted to leave a message. She left the same name, number and extension to call back. But if they are trying to collect for a Citibank card I am delinquent on (I'm filing bankruptcy) then they are one of many trying to collect on the same bad debt. I don't know if the credit card companies are selling the bad debts to several different agencies or what is going on but there are many incidents of several different collection agencies trying to collect on one bad debt and I can not see how that is legal.  I'm due in court on one of the cards next week with a lawyer who has filed suit for Citicards against me.  Unfortunately I haven't been able to pay the attorney the total fees yet so they are unable to go to court for me as of yet. But the lawyer filing suit is NOT with URS!!  Very suspicious!

This company keeps calling us now on a daily basis asking for Christina.  I am not Christina, I have never been called Christina by anyone in my entire life.  We keep telling them that they are calling the wrong number but they keep calling every day.  Different people call; one person gave his name as Michael Ward, ext. 4987

Calling and harassing a friend of mine constantly.  My friend will sue them if it does not cease.  This is not a threat, it is a fact.

1-888-505-1573 ext 4330  Jason called my wifes work and now she got three days off without pay. Next time she's FIRED! Well that moron jason said it wasn't him but then he said he called the other day, What A Liar. The work said it was yesterday. We haven't got much since last year my wife had to take a $.90 an hour paycut and less hours just to keep her job. Plus insurance went up with less coverage. We're hardly making it and it's really tough. We haven't been late on a payment in twenty five years with a 820 credit score. But last march all this happened with the economy. I'm disabled for life only drawing social security. These people should get a real job and quit being bottom feeders harrassing people at work.

These clowns called my parents and I called them back.  I live in a different state and told them to remove my parent's number from their database. A guy named Anthony wanted my SSN and I wouldn't give it to them.  He became irate and informed me of federal privacy law and I informed him of Fair Debt Collection and Practices.  He kept cutting me off.  I said stop it or I will complain with the FTC and the Attorney General.  He said, "Fine.  I'll just block the number you're calling from."  

I called back and spoke to another guy named, "Anthony."  He said Michael Ward is a department manager and he said he could give me info without a SSN.  I gave him my parent's number he called to look up phone history and asked my SSN.  I called him a liar and a scammer, plus a fraudster.  He lied and when called on it, he denied it.  Real clowns work for this company.  If you stand firm with these people, they freak out.  

The two "Anthony"s sounded really similar.

These people are calling my parent's home who I have not lived w/ in 8 years.  They are using my married name, I am divorced.  

I had another number in another state, but changed it when I moved back to my home state, so as of now they do not have my new number.  How they got my parent's phone number, I have no idea.  They called 4 times in 1 day, left voice messages, all w/ different extensions.  In every message, you could not understand at all what the company was they were saying, which I'm sure they did on purpose.

It sounds like you people just need to pay your debts and quit looking for excuses.....they ARE a collection agency, y'know.
