If you get caught in this like I did you should do several things
1. file a complaint with the BBB, State Attorney General office and the FTC.
also under montana STATE LAW.

under Montana state code 30-14-1410 - Disclosure and contract requirements sub-section 4 a) Except as provided in subsection (6), in addition to any other right to revoke an offer, in the case of a sale made by telephone, the buyer may cancel the sale at any time prior to signing an agreement or offer to purchase the goods or services.

If they tell you that you can not cancel because you did not cancel with in the 3 day grace period, call them out.

2. call your bank and cancel your card

Well apparently they are still at it because the same thing happened to me this morning!!! I was all energetic and so was (Brian).... He also claimed to be new going into two weeks on the job and he wanted me to give a good report to his supervisor... And I should have known something then, but stupid me, having other things on my mind, really didn't pay any attention to it, but at first his supervisors name was Brian and then he changed it to Chris... And everything seemed to have been going too good with the good deal that they were trying to give me. I didn't start thinking about it being a rip-off until at work and I'm trying to contact them but they seem to be closed and I'll be sure to call in the morning to see what happens and go from there. Glad I was a more smarter later even though that doesn't help... But if there is anything anyone else knows about this and what I can do to delay this from going any further please help and it will be greatly appreciated!!!

My daughter, sick with cancer, was a victim of this scan. Magazines came from out of nowhere. She never read any of them. Never opened one! She would not have signed up for them. Don't know how they got her information. One character in her name, street, and zip was wrong. But the debit card number was correct.
The last payment they stole from her account was on the day she died. I put an end to the account and the bank recouped the money. Yesterday, a letter came addressed to my deceased daughter from PERIODICALS PO BOX 770 LOLO MT 59847. Just like that - all caps and no punctuation. The scammer is uneducated it seems. The capitalized letters continued to state YOUR ACCOUNT IS OVERDUE...WE NEED TO HEAR FROM YOU WITHIN THE NEXT 10 DAYS TO STOP FURTHER ACTION. Stan Riser, Account Service Dept - again with no punctuation was listed - no signature ofcourse. He wants her to call him at 1-888-300-9415...Gotta go call Stan...

My little brother, older brother, one of my friends, and countless co workers have worked for this company in Hamilton, MT. I am actually looking at a check from Jason & Elizabeth Ellsworth right now for some work that my company did for him up at his mansion. My co worker's wife works as Jason's cleaning lady. Kinda funny how his personal account number is right here in front of my face, I bet a lot of people sure would like to see it haha! Just kidding. Everyone that I know that has worked for him says that they are actively scamming people out of their money.

I got the same exact call scripted the same way by Robert. Robert verified my name, address, and that I had a mastercard. The second call though I told him I did not want it anymore and in the middle of my sentence, the call was disconnected and he did not call back. I did not give out my credit card info though. Did you receive anything more after that first call? Anything in the mail? I am concerned that I will get something I do not want or get billed.

Received a call from an unknown number yesterday during the day. I answered and the woman on the line said I was entered to win 1 million dollars due to my membership with visa and discover. I said ohh ok awesome. She read me my address and told me I'd be receiving a diamond watch. I was cool with that.
Then she proceeded to tell me how I was going to receive 5 diff. types of magazines: men's health and to other magazines for free, and that they just ask that you help pay the WEEKLY $3.83 for the other two magazines. I said no thank you I don't read those magazines. Then I was given a conformation number #258019 (same as many others) I thought "how I didn't even give them any payment info?." She then asked if I could put in a good word for her right then and there. I said ok, and I started talking to Brian who tried making small talk with me and it was just the most awkward talk ever. I remember thinking "this guy is a total t**t." He then asked if I'd pay the $3.83 for magazines I didn't want. I said naaa I'm good with just the watch hahaha. He then said well "its great that you're a preferred member with visa AND master card, what's the visa's expiration date?" I said listen, I'm not comfortable giving you credit card info over the phone so you can bill me for magazines I don't want. How about that Brian? He nervously giggled and hung up. I thought to myself holy s*** what a scam.
So I am just happy none of my credit/debit card info was submitted (I've kept an eye on my accounts just to be sure) and I am waiting to receive this "watch" in the mail. :)

Just so you know, It is actually a valid company, I used to work there, and on top of it, George Cooney is my ex boyfriend lol! He quit in of December last year.

A man called me and said he was from my periodical company and I had won a sweepstakes.  I would receive 3 free magazines and a diamond watch.  He already had all my credit information and asked which credit card I wanted to use for payment (he read off each credit card I have).

I told him to stop right there I was not paying for anything, he said it was just $3.00 for shipping and handling.  I hung up.  Five minutes later I received an email from one of my credit cards that a charge was made for $66.41 from Old West Publications,  I immediately called and had the charges removed and cancelled my card.

They called me back 5 times that same day because the charge was removed.  I never received a magazine or a watch.  Now I get a call everyday saying I owe money.   I just received a letter from them saying I now owe $199.22.  I never, ever received a magazine.  I am turnign this over to my attorney.

Were you able to get it canceled? I am in the same boat and did what you did. I called my cc company as soon as I found out. I also called them back and had them cancel my subscriptions. The guy who answered ask for the same info but he doesnt seem sincere about canceling it. Now I am waiting to see whether the pending charges will go through. Will have to call my cc company again and see what they are planning to do.

They're still going around and doing this. The scenario Boingo Insanity posted is exactly the same thing I went through, conformation and all, with the exception that now they're including an incentive of a free watch with a diamond at the 12 o'clock. I knew from the start it was a scam but I was an idiot and gave my information. immediately after the first call, I called my credit card company, told them to watch for such charges and that I did a quick google search and found these guys to be a scam. I then called the 2nd number that tried to contact me and told them I knew they're a scam and that I have informed my credit card company. The man tried to act as if he was sorry for making me think they're a scam, but then took my zip and state down and said he'll cancel. If he doesn't, my cc company knows and hopefully they'll handle it/let me know if something happens.Next thing that i'm probably going to do is cancel my card to be extra safe.

I got stuck too.  They won't stop calling.....They say you won a diamond watch and free mags and then turn around and get you into subscriptions.

I just got a call from an unknown number, answered only because I drive a semi and my dispatch calls all the time and that's what there number comes up as. After speaking with a "new employee" named Matthew Maze?? he handed me off to a "supervisor"  Brian May. He asked how the other guy was and told him he was fine. He then stated they needed my 3 digit code from my card for verification. This sounded odd so I asked what card they had because I have more than 1 visa. He told me it started with a 4 and I said both my cards have a 4. He then said I won't be charged for anything again. I simply said I don't like giving that out do to so many scams that are out there. He abruptly hung up. My advice, sounds to good to be true, it probably is!!! Hopefully with the phone technology people will google them quickly while still on the phone and find this and not sign up for the so calls sweepstakes!! Merry Christmas!

@ The Truth- You feed off  the unknowing consumer by packaging your deal with a watch that probably is worth the 10 cents it was made with. My wife has a charge on her bank account from this scam and that exactly what it is a scam. She never spoke to anyone or signed up for anything so hmmmmmm can you say fraud. I know for a fact that all of your happy customers are not customers, but instead salesmen covering for the company. Yeah it produces jobs but at the same time it is not right to take advantage of those that trust too easily. We are cancelling our credit card and I am specifically filing a civil lawsuit against your precious company if I find out from BBB that this is all a major scam/ fraud which I already know is by the research Ive been doing. I hope that the company does this to a couple more outstanding Americans then we can split the victory of a seedy, underhanded, manipulative, front of a company that represents nothing that America truly stands for. The owner will get his no matter what as I can see I'm not the only one who was taken advantage of. Take your rightous bs and sale it somewhere else. By the way wasnt your owner in trouble with smoking Meth recently..........hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. All of you that have been taken advantage of it is time to stop these types of criminals once and for all. They called from montana and said that I had been entered into a drawing and now they want me to pay ! And I don't have the money!

This  company  is just selling  magazines, i received a very nice call from a new telemarketer, I currently have multiple magazines subscription received at the office and home so it was a no brainer.  I asked them to hold on I did the math and ordered. Have had no problems just changing a magazine takes a couple months. Either you buy or not. I could have hung up like every other solicitor and I am glad I didn't because now I cancelled my other magazines, have all six going to my place of business  and they will be written off on my taxes ,  other than cancelling , that's the only option.  Make sure you don't impulse buy, think first

no information is shared nor should you be worried if you want the order canceled just let them know please do not read so much into information supplied here or any where else i know that people receive their magazines and there actually is a sweepstakes a bit much for magazines but i do not read them and also do not have the attention span haha these people are decent real and in the good ol U S of A please butdo not hate its not okay you gave your credit card number  for a purchase just as you would anywhere you buy something i am not trying to be rude but understand these folks are only doing their job as the rest of the 99% of America whether its slinging magazines or buying faulty  items from a place like good old wally world

so, I'm hurting on money, and I was stupid enough to believe the voice on the other end of an "Unavailable" number. Yeah, stupid, huh? So, they promise aaaalll sorts of stuff, very nice, sweepstakes drawing, diamond watch, all that crap. But really? Soliciting by an unknown number? Federal law people, I was on the DO NOT CALL list.  So I thought it was legit. If you put down money...GET IT BACK RIGHT NOW, hound them, threaten them, do what you can, but get it back and notify your bank. Its a scam, I don't know how they got my credit card number. Cancel your card, change your card. whatever. but do it.

I personally work with these two people that were talked to and it is just our job to call the "customers" you are all on an automatic dialer, and the info (name, phone number and address) auto populates.  when you get the call it is for the "sweepstakes" that you were automatically entered in to via your perferred customer service with the publishers, it has nothing to do with your cc company entering you. the watch and magazines are just an added bonus, it doesn't stop you from being entered in the sweepstakes. if you don't want the magazines all you have to do is just say "NO"

I got the call while i was online and as i was reading all these posts i talked with them until the supervisor got on the phone and when it was time to give my information i told them i wasnt comfortable and her tone changed and she just hung up.

First person i talked to was JEREMY LUCAS who claimed he was a new employee and told me i was entered for a 100,000 dollar sweepstakes because i was a preferred cardholder. yeah right. he went on to tell me about what i was going to be recieving in the mail which was a diamond quartz watch and 3 magazine subscriptions. but i would have to purchase three subscriptions which can be any of 800 subscriptions they offer. He said "my supervioser ust tapped me on the shoulder" and if i could tell her about how he was doing.

(as this is going on i'm reading these post) so i played along.

The supervisor claimed to be  JENNIFER CONAT EMPLOYEE ID 227JC from OLD WEST PUCLICATIONS 11300 HIGHWAY 93 SOUTH LOLO, MONTANA 88497

she went on to confirm what id be getting and then explained that i needed to make a first payment with my credit card and she asked me about my employment and tried to get my information. this went on as she gave me her info and the companys info and that they have been in business for 26 years. in the end i told her not feeling it and she changed her voice completely and said thank you and hung up!!!!!!!!!!!!!
