Happened to me, I left the box closed and return to shipper via UPS. I then looked them up on google. I talked to a dispute resolution manager and he started cussing me out, when I called his company a scam. That was last year. I received the same call today, I simply hung up

Just google "Maryland Firms Ship Unwanted Items" and that BBB article will tell you everything that happened to me. It reports that at least eight scamming companies which are all owned by Brian Waller and Brandon Riggs, have been scamming people by sending light bulbs and cleaner to companies who haven't ordered any, then billing them $600. White Pages lists Brandon at 1016 S Conkling St in Baltimore, MD 21224-5297, phone number 443-660-8597. He's also pretty easy to find on Facebook. One of his friends on Facebook is Stephen Sprainis, who lists his occupation as "administrator at Midway Industries," another scamming firm. I think he likes to change his name to Stephen Springer for the UPS return labels. White Pages lists Stephen Sprainis at 3919 Chaffey Rd in Randallstown, MD 21133-4003, phone 410-496-8096. Also on Facebook is Brian Plato of Baltimore, who lists his occupation as "administrator at Midway Industries." The guy who tried to con me called himself Chris James at Commercial Industries LLC, but I couldn't find him on Brandon or Stephen's Facebook pages, only a "Chris Jones." What really surprises me is how Del Vel Chem at 250 Old Marlton Pike in Medford, NJ continues to ship light bulbs and cleaner for these companies when it's likely that half of all their orders must be returned, as mine was. So I decided to call them. After confirming with Bonnie Spector (very nice lady) at Del Vel that all eight of those scamming companies do indeed order their bulbs and cleaners from Del Vel, I called the CEO of Del Vel, Steven Pollack, to make him aware of this nationwide scam that was being conducted using products ordered out of his warehouse. He refused to read the BBB article, or so he told me. This is what he said: "It's not my business what my customers do with my products. I'm just a fulfillment center. I have over a hundred customers and I can't keep up with what everyone does. I'm not concerned!" I told him if at least eight of his customers are crooks then what does that say about him? I'm sure you would all agree that it's good business to be somewhat concerned with what your customers are doing with your products. For example, a pawn shop might refuse to sell firearms to someone with a criminal history. An honest bartender would refuse to sell alcohol to someone obviously drunk. Yes, they might be losing a little money, but they take these actions because they know they could involve themselves in wrongdoing, be held liable for harm done to others, and damage their own reputation. Well Mr. Pollack, I see on your LinkedIn profile that you got your bachelor's in finance, now you just need to get one in ethics and morals.

Company called Surelight calls and says they are starting their fall campaign with gift cards...Scam to get your mailing address. They then send light bulbs out that you didn't order. No number on call display. Comes up as "Private number". Just waiting for them to ship the product out so I can refuse it.

They hope to get AP departments that just pay any bill that comes through.  They will not try and enforce anything by going to court because they are scammers and would never try to bring the authorities into the situation.  Just send the bulbs back if they show up.  No need to call and tell them because they wont answer.

Light bulb scam here too.  Anyone try returning them?  What was the outcome of your dispute?  I am going to return to the shipping address in NJ and keep track of EVERYTHING!  How far do they take the invoice?  I doubt they call on it to seek payement since the number listed is just an answering service.  Do they just bank on getting a large enough company that AP pays the bill?

i ordered a box of lights from this company before. im not sure about everything cfo bobby said but i will say that when the guy called me back to confirm the address he did tell me the call was recorded for quality purposes. he did also tell me there was a warranty if there was any damage or they burned out within 8 years to call and they'd ship replacements. the price was high but i feel like with the warranty, what the hell.

Well we have the same problem with this company. Nothing on their invoice matches any of their own records including the email address they have. they operate out of a POB number and what amazes me is that either have access to UPS database and delivery schedule because they reproduced a valid tracking number but the package as per UPS came froma diffrent company all together.
We have finally asked this company to take us to court for non payment. Untile then we shall see.

Another thing I found interesting was his statement "If they send you out product then I guarantee 100 % that somebody in your company ordered and that they most likely have it on a recorded call."
I'm wondering how he could possibly know that they have it recorded.

(OK, I'm not *really* wondering...)

very similar post at http://800notes.com/Phone.aspx/1-877-223-6371 when the same clown apparently posted as "Ted P", what with they have a recording of you an all -- funny how legit companies don't have to record phone calls in the normal course of business, but then these crooks have an interesting definition of "business" LOL.

Fascinating story CFO Bobby. And 180 degrees out of sync with the experiences of... well, *everyone* else, it would seem. What's the name of your company that has had such good experiences with these people? I'm trying to imagine what kind of excuses you might concoct for why you can't possibly reveal who you are and what business you work for that's perfectly legit but, gosh darn it, you just can't say who they are.

I don't understand why people are upset or even calling this company a scam. I've been ordering my lights from them for 5 years now. I think if they were doing something illegal I would know and they would be shut down, right? I deal with National LLC out of Maryland and use this company quite regularly. I can tell you this company does not send out fake invoices or false business. If they send you out product then I guarantee 100 % that somebody in your company ordered and that they most likely have it on a recorded call. If you then you get something and are shocked by the invoice...perhaps you should have asked price? Anyway they are true to there word on warranty for 8 years so I call them for a replacement box twice a year and save money as opposed to going to home depot. Some people are clueless when they make decisions and then when the consequences come they are quick to deny and not accept responsibility. Makes me sick

this company called and i talked to a rep and he was asking all kinds of questions about what lighting we used and for my name and all kind of stuff.  So when we were done talking he said he would send me some cleaner we used, i told him no that our fixed operations manager is the one who orders that stuff 3 days later i get a box of cleaner and the po was my name, which i didnt order anything. And beside that the bill i got was for 600 bucks. So buyer beware they will just send u stuff no matter what. they will not get paid for that crap.

This company called and got the name of one of our building engineers. We then received an invoice for almost $600.00 for a box of hand cleaner. Never received the hand cleaner and on top of that they wanted a 12.5% restocking fee if we shipped the product back. They are scam artists that don't have a legit address and have several company names and phone numbers. Do not talk to these people, because if you do, you just bought whatever they are selling and using your name as a verbal purchase order. I checked out their company with the Better Business Bureau and found their rating to be an "F" with 31 complaints in the last year. They called from 443-702-4395 and their fax number is 877-301-5854.

Buyer beware....  They will rip you off at the drop of a hat!!! I was billed for 30 ruff service bulbs at a total of $1,971.30 along with a S&H fee of 28.15. This comes to 65.71 per bulb.... They must be on crack if they think that I'm going to pay this invoice... It'll be a VERY cold day in hell before that happens. When I'm done they will eat this entire bill. They also use a name for the P.O. when I use P.O numbers. And here's the kicker.... I didn't place an order for this crap. I called there so called customer service and I guess I'll see what happens, go figure they are not in the office....

Got an invoice from National LLC for $590.95. for 16 flourescent flood lamps.  I only know the kind of lamp, because I googled the part numbers listed. The only description on their invoice said "15 CF 2700K".

It looks like someone at one of our branch stores got suckered in a phone solicitation. When I called the vendor for some additional details, I spoke with Leslie, I was told that this is their price for these lamps with a 10-year guarantee.  If I wanted them without the warranty, the price was approximately $200.00.

OK, I've only been doing AP for 12 years, now. But I have never heard anyone explain away this high price tactic like Leslie did. I really need to start a scrapbook, someday.

I'm going to have the store manager pack these up and I'll have National LLC pay for their OWN return freight.

Got an invoice from National LLC, POB 255, Glyndon MD 21071  Ph 888-515-5010  Fax 877-301-5854

Invoicing me for lightbulbs.  They are not an approved vendor, we operate on a PO system.  I called, and the young woman answering the phone tried to get me to a representative.  I told her "No, you are not", and proceeded to let her know I was onto her scam.  She said she would get a rep for me and "accidently" hung up. I called back immediately, and got an automated message stating the number was not available.

My company was also hit with this scam. There are 3 companies in the same area of Maryland that I know of doing the same thing.  They send cleaning products and light bulbs that were never ordered and reference a "verbal po" and the name of one of our former employees.  I have reported all 3 companies to the Better Business Bureau.  That is the only way I was able to get them to cancel the invoices and accept the return product without their bogus fees.

This phone number appears to belong to a bogus company.  No physical address, other phone number 888-515-5010 and 877-836-8278 and 443-712-1471 Spoke to a Jeff, no last name.  Claims to be a Hansen Supply and sent us an invoice for Sunspray (an all purpose degreaser) we NEVER ordered.
Wants to charge us all kinds of fees re-stock, freight.   Jeff states his sales rep Steve Smith spoke to our maint super and he ordered it.  NO way,  we work on a PO system and our maint super has been here 10 years.  Watch out for bogus invoice's.
