i also find it weird that someone mention td selling insurance and a 'TD representative' has called me a few times, im not sure what number from, and theyve been asking me about something similar

They called and hung up.   Probably their computer just verifying if the line is real.  They'll call again I am sure.

I've gotten about 8 calls from this number this month.  I've never answered and now that I know what it is I never will!!!

I get these people phoning me 3 times a day.I live in Vancouver (778).  I googled the number and all these pages coming out of China pop up!!!!!!! I tried phoning back using their automated system to be placed on their 'do-not-call-back list' but their system does not recognize touch tone and then disconnects.

I also refuse to pick up when number calling does not leave any message. If this keeps up, I will be forced to change phone numbers.

i'm in 519 too, i keep getting calls from them.  i called them back and put myself on the do-no-call list.  hope it works

I received a call from this number on my answering machine they did not leave a message so I placed the number on my block call list. Thanks to the comments from this list.

i get this call twice a day once at 11 in the morning and about 8:20 in the afternoon and the call always last 2 seconds and they hang up

I have ignored 19 calls from this number over the last 10 days.  Never leaves a message.  Calls anytime between 8am and 9pm.  (my number is a montreal number)

THEY...WON'T...STOP....CALLING! Everyday with these people.  I'm not going to answer, get the hint.

same here. I received calls from this number twice or three times a day for a week straight. Ever since the other side hanged up on me when I first picked up the call, I just ignored calls from this number.

Yes, I've been getting the same calls and after picking up the phone, I finally spoke with a human on the other end.

They are selling a Credit Security/Insurance service via TD CanadaTrust to help prevent getting hacked via Identity Theft.

Yet another product or service out there to scare us... Next, these types of companies will be telling us that there are WMD's here in Canada and if we don't hurry and purchase there new service, they won't be able to locate these WMD's and that they could go off at a moments notice.

i am in 647 (toronto), yes, it lasted 2 seconds each time, i checked my call history, i found out this number called me couple times before, same behavior, last 2 seconds.  i am using fido, called fido, and they said we need talk to local police instead of phone company.  whoever see this message, please join this thread of message.  thanks

Called my cell phone and hung up when I answered.

This is a scam selling insurance.  They get your banking/credit card info and withdraw from your account.

They called me and already knew my name and asked to speak to me. 5 second call

My mum works at TD Canada Trust in Ontario, Canada and I asked her about this.  she said as far as she knows there's no one calling on behalf of TD Visa, and that its about 99% probable that this is a scam.  Never give your information over the phone unless you yourself have called the Visa help line!

(In other news, I got a call from this number today, that's why I'm here. Heh.  Didn't answer, and they didn't leave a message.)
