Received a call from this number a few minutes ago, but didn't answer as assumed it was a telemarketer. See from this site it's the PC party.

I tried sending an e-mail to info@onebigcampaign.ca to notify them that I do not wish to receive their calls. The e-mail failed. Obviously they don't want people contacting them. The first question any machine should ask is if you wish to participate. There should also be an option to remove your phone number from their calling list. This is one of the many reasons why people in my age group do not vote.

The number for a Registered Third-party Political Campaign office. In this case it is for "One Big Campaign" , a unite-the left organization conducting a Survey of Ontario Voters.

@Hams: IT is not quite correct about who is doing the calling. The VOICE at the end of the line SOUNDS LIKE Tim Hudak, (The Leader of the PC PARTY of Ontario 2009--) but it is not him. The Organization can be reached at info@onebigcampaign.ca or One Big Campaign , According to Nick Filmore's Blog, it is an Anti -Harper Social Progressive organization, that broke away from any Union stuff, and may be an off-shoot of 'Catch-22-Campaign' from 2011. See the Facebook 'Page' here. http://www.facebook.com/CampaignToBuildOneBigCampaign.
The Blogsite ( http://one-big-campaign.blogspot.ca/ ) has this in its description : " One Big Campaign is a small politically-independent citizens group created two years ago to work on important social and political issues. We operate the Facebook Page Campaign to build 'One Big Campaign" Our main officers are Nick Fillmore of Toronto, retired journalist and social activist; Mark Taliano of Grimsby, retired teacher and manager of the One Big Campaign Facebook Page and Heather S. Robertson of Toronto. The group is registered as a Third Party with Elections Ontario, which allows us to raise and spend funds on our campaign. "
They are currently campaigning so that there is no 'splitting of the left' and that there is a consensus of left leaning seats following the election.
In my opinion only, this is the wrong approach, as it says that 'One Person - One Vote' does not really hold up. The principle is called "Majority Rule' , and this means if there are 3 different groups to vote for, then IF 1 group gets More votes than the other, then that (The Majority) group wins. It is called "First Past the Post" .
But because there may be no clear 'majority', and there may be several close calls, I urge every elector to get out and vote for your respective Local Candidate in your area. IF he/she has something you like, vote for them IRRESPECTIVE of their PARTY, since they are elected to REPRESENT YOU.
Sorry if this is long , but the information Hans gave out is not quite correct.

Not sure, but after a light Googling it seems to be a polling company in Toronto. Perhaps to do with the upcoming Ontario election.
