Cornerstone Resolution Group Inc. Claims i have a payday loan unpayed from 2009 this is the first i have ever heard of it ever. For over $1,100 the conversation got a little heated the lady ended up calling my mother a N****r, and a bi*** and she should have drowned me as a baby. I hung up she ended up calling me back at a different number cause i blocked that number and said that was not like her I said too damn bad gave her a few words of my own and hung up.
Def a SCAM SCAM SCAM a real company would not treat people or talk to people like that.

This ph# 888-590-2265 called our home and then called our son's cell# and theratened to send county investiagtors to our home, our places of employment, and seize bank accounts and freeze pay from our jobs. My son answered his cell and the person on the other end calling from 888-590-2265 told him they were debt collectors on a outstanding bill from over 10 yrs ago now to the sum of $900 but if he paid up today $100 then it would be considered settled. My son didn't know what this person was talking about, only this person was threatening things and he panicked then gave his credit card # but we have filed a comlpiant w/State Attorney in Indiana after finding out this is a scam. My son's bank closed his account but report nothing can be done about the lost $100. Another bank has informed us that is not true and continue making noise, calling officials, and going into the bank which we plan to do next business day.  


He left this message on our home ph:

Frank Clark calling with the legal division here in Mariana County. Looking to speak with  (Son name) only complaint I received in the office this morning at this time. There has been a case filed against him. I do have a court order to come out to eight thirty (Our home address) on Wednesday October twenty third between three forty five to four pm. Just to investigate this case we do expect that he or (me-his mom) is available on that address."

I finally after 1.5 yrs called the number back and informed them I was in chapter 7 bankruptcy and that they already knew that. They claimed that I signed a no bankruptcy clause. I called my lawyer - he said don't worry about them. And If I receive anything from them to direct it all to my attorney. By law they knew the bankruptcy and who my attorney is and they still called me...Isnt that illegal???. By law are they not supposed to have all correspondence go through my attorney???

So what can we do about this? The call comes up unknown, so i can never call back. But the guy is rude, calling for one of my family members who doesnt even live here and i wont give the info to them. And they hang up, one guy said a curse word then hung up. So how cane we report them. Since its illiagal to give false info about what you are loking for from the person just to get them in to the company that wants to pay a debt.

this no.1-888-590-2265 and the person called name is Timothy Sweet.he left a very rudd mssage on my friends phone.that I needed to call him .or the police would be at my door.he was a very rudd man.said he would come to where I live or where I work.he said he had court papers for me too sign. and my ten days were up.

It is a scam. Watch for calls from Lisa O'Brien and Jason Morgan. They are trying to collect on debts that were written off usually or they buy data and debts and some bits or pieces of your personal info and they try to intimidate into sending them money.

Remember, if you are being sued, you receive court notices and collection letters. These guys refuse to give you company names and refuse to email or mail you any info regarding your debt.

If you can report them to your police or block the call, please do.

I had this number call and give me one of our employees names and Social Security Number.  I did not give them information as to which center she works at yet I called the employee and had her call this number.  It all seems like a set up.  What bothers us is that she had this employees SSS#.

This company stated that they had an appt with me on mondaybetween 11 and sixe. They gave my licenseplate number and my vehicle info but not anything personal.they asked me to have two formsif id.should ibe worried that they are gonna take my car or something?

What's funny, is the same type of company has been calling me for a year, making the same threats, but have not received any paperwork about it. So I know it is a SCAM!! Idiots..lol

Received a call from a Kristin at extension 244; same thing. There was a case on her desk, ref # M#####, and a pending civil suit.If I don't respond within 24 hours papers will have to be filed. I used to cash checks at ace cash express, never had a payday loan with them; but apparently they sold my information and these companies keep calling and trying to extort money for a nonexistent debt. I should have just deposited the out of state checks from my employer and waited the 10 days, what a hassle!

Actually you shouldn't fax over anything to anybody unless they can verify your debt or debt they think you owe first. Scammers can get a lot of information for little documentation you give them. You sound unprofessional and probably are a scammer yourself. Quit stressing?? You guys bug the hell out of everyone!! lol....I wouldn't listen to your advice if it was the only advice on earth....Also, I don't fall for any of this BS...my suggestion??? Play along and have fun! I received a call from this # stating that they were the SS# Office.  Bunch of fonies....

Received a message from Cornerstone Resolution Group and name of individual leaving message is Cory Roberts from 888-590-2265.  She stated there is a case pending on my sister (gave my sisters name) and to call back within 24 hours.  Funny part is , I don't use or own credit cards neither does my sister.

Recieved a call from onr Precious Moss EXT 251.  I was told they were going to file with my county on a payday loan that is 5 yrs old which I have already paid.  when I told her what she was telling me was AGAINST THE LAW she told me NO it's not.  I spoke to a lawyer and YES IT IS!!!  REPORT these people if they call!!!!

Just got a call from a number that showed up as unintelligible on my cell phone, then on the call log lists 5695.  A woman ("Rachel") left a message, for a person not associated with the cell phone, stating some goobledy gook about affidate/action/social security number that sounded important and legitimate, but in the end made no sense whatsoever.  Asked that I call this number back, at extension 261.

Mam you spoke to someone who is not too bright,,, all you had to do was fax in documents that it has been paid and the acct would have been closed... Stressing too hard over nothing...

This company is about helping you clear up your credit... if you took out a payday loan or have credit card debt,,, listen to what they can offer you... the nasty reply's on this page are from people who have no concerns about clearing up or paying their debt... The reason that the economy is bad as it is today... dead beat debtors!... they helped me settle out my acct. and gave me a good price on it as well.. If you owe or are not sure, at least listen to them. That's all i'm saying.

A very serious, almost threatening sounding "John Pierce" from "Cornerstone" left a message this morning that I was a "Point of Reference" in a case involving "Dewey McKinley" (all spellings are guesses on my part). He cites case # 3723-BF and requests that I call back to 1-888-590-2265. Our caller ID said "Unknown Caller" with no number. I guess I'll do nothing unless/until he calls again.

Been getting these calls too.  Not sure who they are.  I called an attorney and was told they are probably from out of state (from which I reside) and there isn't much they can do but harass you.  The male voice (pre-recorded) is very scarry and threatening.

Have voice mail from "Amanda Clark/Clerk" at 1-888-590-2265 ex 266 from CRG Legal Group say that they are taking legal action agains our drivers license and SS#. And the person they are looking for is no one we know and we have had this phone for years.

Place fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notify your bank and the NY AG's office.

A man by the name of Anthony Rogers called and left a message from a number 1-888-590-2265.  He did not tell me the name of the company that he was collecting for or the amount.  He had my SSN and addressed and threated that I would be taken to court for if I didn't pay them money, but I have never gotten anything in the mail from these people.  They harrass me all the time!!! I am tired of it and from reading these post thank goodness I did not give them a dime!!! I am very worried that they have my SSN though and don't know what I can do to stop this. I guess I will just have to keep a close eye on my credit report to check and see if anything this amiss.

I am constantly being harrassed by Cornerstone as is my spouse, not only our personal phones but our employeers as well. I have filed a claim with the BBB in NY.

Notify the NY AG's office. They are violating consent orders signed in 2011 to clean up their business practices.

Richard & Peggy Cerrone, are required to pay $85,000 in penalties and must take significant steps to clean up their business practices. Richard Cerrone owns and operates the Southern Tier Agency, Inc., Check & Credit Reporting, Inc., and Credit & Check Filing, Inc. Peggy Cerrone owns and operates the Cornerstone Resolution Group, Inc. The Investigation revealed the Cerrone companies repeatedly violated the Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. On more than 30 occasions consumers have filed suit against the Cerrone companies. Moreover, consumers have submitted more than 200 complaints to the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau, and the OAG against the Cerrones companies.

The lawsuits and complaints allege that the Cerrone Companies improperly called consumers at their places of employment, threatened consumers with arrest, imprisonment, garnishment of wages, and freezing bank accounts.

This civil cases were handled by Assistant Attorney General James Morrissey and Senior Consumer Fraud Representative Karen Davis of the Attorney General's Buffalo Regional Office under the supervision of Acting Assistant Attorney General in Charge of the Buffalo Regional office Michael Russo. Back in the end of November i received a call from this company telling me i owe money for an unpaid loan i had with cash net usa. They threatened me saying if i didnt resolve the matter with them i would be served with papers to go to court and have to pay a restitution of $2,200.00 if i didnt pay the settlement with them. They also asked where i worked and when i told them that i work at the school they said i would/could lose my job for having these unpaid charges against me. I was in total shock so without thinking it was a scam i paid them 50.00 that day, 300.00 on the 30th of november, and 275.00 on the 14th of december. Before that payment was due on the 14th i called C.R.G asking if i could send a money order instead of having them take it out of my bank and they said no. I have another payment coming up on the 28th o 275.00 and i dont know what to do. I called cash net usa today asking if they work with this cornerstone resolution group inc on collecting debts and they said no!!! They said they werent a real collection agency. Ugh!!! Someone please help me!!!
