Didn't accept the call, but got a call right after from an outfit that said that it was from CareerBuilders.com, just like John described.

My boyfriend also got a text from this number after receiving a suspicious email stating that he met the qualifications for a security position he applied for where we live.  He never applied for such a position at all.  He called the number back, as the txt stated, and the rep told him that she is just the one who verifies info and doesn't know anything, that he'd have to contact the company (which is?) to find out.  Weird.  I was expecting them to ask him to cash a check or money order and send a portion overseas - a common scam.  If you never heard of this, the checks are fake and you will be held liable for not only the money for the overdraft, but fraud and money laundering!  The fake checks are drawn from the banks of others who fell pray to these "jobs" and gave their bank info.  The weird thing is that her English was very good, usually the "Nigerian" scammers have poor English and grammar.  I wonder if it was to solicit for a training program, instead, as you found in your experience.  Since he has been using various "job sites" we have gotten outrageous numbers of calls from these types of places that first pose as a job listing.  What a bunch of crap!

"Michael" Credit Network rep calling on behalf of CareerBuilder.com, a job I applied for; company was kept confidential.  Informed me that this number was a toll free call; then he turned to push me to accept a call to a school / university training center to enroll for classes at $$$.
