I don't have an account with Citi so I don't know why they are contacting me, but they called three times within an hour while I was at work! Annoying. If you need me, leave a message an ill return your call. Don't just harass me by calling and calling without leaving a message.

For 3 days now, i've been having constant calls, every time i answer it's a extremely aggressive indian male, who just pulls physical and verbal threats out of thin air everty time i answer, usually about me owing some kind of debt.....

Great, just got them to stop harassing me or so I thought from 800-338-2200. Now this number calls TWO DAYS later with the same scam set up. SERIOUSLY? And to all you tools who are defending this number, let me ask everyone this: if you had some personal issue that this "department" has helped you out with, why in the hell are you on a blog of reported numbers defending said "department"? Who goes out of their way to comb through these types of blogs, look for the number that called them, and then say "Oh but this is totally legit"...?!

They've been calling my house non-stop for several weeks. I don't answer 1 -888 calls so I let it go to voicemail. The voicemail says it's Citi calling about my credit card. I decided to answer so I could ask them to stop calling, but no one was there. The second time I answered and no one was there, I called the number back. They said they were calling about my account and asked me for the number. I said, you're calling me about my account then you should have my number... and I proceeded to ask WHY they keep calling. She said she needed to access the account and asked for my mother's maiden name which she said was the password. Without thinking I said it and that quick the phone went dead. Now I'm worried about identity theft. They have my name, my phone number,, probably my address and now they have my mother's maiden name. I'm wondering who I can report it to? I called back and acted like I didn't know why they were calling, I only verified my name...then the girl started telling my I had a past due balance by 106 days and my last payment was received in September. Which is not true, because I had called the REAL citi number on my credit card and they confirmed everything was fine with my account. So there is something not right with what those callers are doing.

I receive multiple calls, per day, from this number from 8:00 a.m. until after 9:00 p.m. They do not leave messages, nor do they reply when answered. I have been on the "Do Not Call" registry for several years & I should not be receiving these calls.
I also do no have any connection with Citibank, nor do I owe them any money. This is ridiculous. This company should be fined according to the guidelines of the "Do Not Call" registry.
I looked up the number to find out what business this is & found that it is a Citibank debt collector affiliate. I was not given this information upon answering the call.

no Citi account, account paid in full over 2 years ago. Have reported to DoNotCall and the lame Florida version. Just this morning 7 calls in about 2 hours.

this is a fradulent call. they claim to be from CITIBANK collections department, however they do not have my account number.... and then try to ask me for it. I contacted citibank directly and the customer service rep called the 888 number himself. when the real citibank rep asked for the fake reps ID number they said "why do you need that". when the real rep said "we need it to verify your a really a citibank employee they disconnected the call. the real citibank rep said the call is fraudulent and they were alerting their fraud department about the call.
DO NOT GIVE YOUR INFO TO ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU OVER THE PHONE
Jim 2012-11-27 18:13:09 Unknown
call my house constantly day after day leaving messages claiming to assist people who have had trouble paying bills since Hurricane Sandy.
This is a scam.
Do not give them your credit card number.
they are persistent and tremendous a****oles
NorthernUS 2012-11-23 16:54:37 Unknown
You tell them they are zombie debt collectors, they quote some account that you NEAVER heard of, and then ask you for your information. When you ask them to send you SOMETHING IN THE MAIL TO ASCERTAIN WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT, THEY ASK YOU YOUR ADDRESS, WHAT A BUNCH OF xxx@##$.
Scott 2012-11-20 23:48:28 Unknown
This is a scam number. I don't even have a CitiBank card. I called Citibank from a contact number on their regular site and the people at the legit CitibBank said they don't even have my number in their records. I wouldn't answer this number and try blocking it.
Stephanie 2012-11-06 20:20:03 Unknown
They have been calling my home phone for 2 weeks, twice a day. When I answer there is nobody there. The voicemail says they are citibank. So I just called the number and spoke with an associate. It really IS a citibank number...but when she asked for my acct. number I told her I do not HAVE an account with them and would like the calls to stop. She asked for the number, I gave it to her and she said they would kindly remove me from future calls.
CALL THE NUMBER AND TELL THEM YOU WANT THE CALLS TO STOP.

I think that this is not the real Citibank. I'm pretty sure it is some kind of scam. It could be a debt collector mis-representing identity.
Whoever it is, they keep calling usually once per day.
I never answer "toll free" calls, I let the answering machine get it. They do leave a message but the message is low volume and has distortion such that I can't make out the phone number they want me to call.
I have two cards that Citi is behind. I called the customer service numbers on the back of the cards. My accounts are in good standing with no known issues.
I called the number (888-638-9611) that came up on caller ID. They answered as Citi (not Citibank) and they asked for my phone number, which I gave them since they had that already. They asked for a person by name, I do not know anyone by the name they gave. I asked them if they were a collection agency, and they said no, they were the "billing department". When I told them "No one by that name lives here" they just hung up.

As usual, have been getting many calls per day, from various charities, financial offers, etc. Not to mention political robocalls. But these jack***es couldnt even be decent enough to wait till 9 AM.Called at 8.37,which is why I decided to look it up.Not sure who it is,and have my ringer and answering machine turned off. What good is this Do Not Call registry? None, from what I can see, cause I am on it.

This number calls my home phone AND my cell phone several times a day. I never answer, but when I call back it says Citicards. They called my home at 8am on saturday and Sunday. I've had it!
Dd 2012-10-06 21:30:05 Unknown
This is NOT Citibank. I called Citibank using the number on the back of my card. They checked their phone number database and they have no such number. I owe Nothing on my card so it also isn't a collection agency. It is a phishing scam.

CITIBANK.
We just started getting phone calls by this number. Never anybody there when I stayed on the phone to talk. But they left messages saying who they were. and when we called city bank we found that someone opened a cable company account in 2006 in my daughters name.
They could not ( would not)provide any information except that she owes $356.14 and they would settled for $175.00.
CITIBANK is just one of a bunch of scumbag companies that buys other debts.
When a smaller company finds that it will cost more money than the debt is , to collect that debt, they sell a bunch of debts off to bigger companies like CITIBANK, who have had political influence to get laws passed that allow them to hassle , bully and threaten , without having anything done to them. And they can charge anything for their services.
When the BUSH Administration re-did the whole banking industry it was actually aimed to make it easy for banks to add outrageous interest rates , & all sorts of added fees that could actually double & tipple the initial debt in a single year. This was basically done to raise hundreds of millions to help keep those political people in office.
Because there are caps on political contributions, they spread the money around to easily made up companies who are then allowed to make big political contributions
On top of that, The government pays the debt when it cant be collected in a certain time frame & then allows the company to still collect the debt.
This is a huge reason why America has a 16 trillion dollar deficit. The rich were not just made more filthy richer , they are being allowed to do the same exact thing that loan sharks are put in prison for.

These calls can be up to three times a day starting around 8 am. I am sick of hearing the same recording and I don't have an account with Citibank! Stop the calls please! Make them stop!
Mary Beth 2012-08-28 16:51:17 Unknown
They need to stop calling my house. I pick up and there is no one on the line to give an explanation why you are calling! They are harassing my family.
Celeste 2012-08-22 16:02:02 Unknown
I don't have any account or credit card with Citi bank. I don't know why they call on my home number. I don't pick up, and they never leave a message. It's very annoying.
Mac Morrone 2012-07-20 00:11:55 Unknown
Constant calling. Called them back today and explained I have never had a citi bank card or affiliation. I said who are you trying to reach. Honest to God, he said I don't know m'am they just do the dialing automatically.
How asinine
SuzyQ 2012-06-07 16:22:10 Unknown
I've received 4 calls this morning. 8, 9, 10, 11... I answered the last call. The girl asked is this Kendra Davis???? Not my name. Wonder why they keep calling day after day. They only say it is a call from Citi. Don't know them and I don't owe them. She hung up on me when I said I don't know a Kendra. This continues day after day. Wish I could reach through the phone and wring their necks.
Pissed off 2012-06-03 15:57:30 Unknown
They have been asked to quit calling. They have the wrong person and still call several times a day. I am ready to call police or better business bureau. I have had it!! I do not have a card with any of their companies. I think they are phishing for information.
Patty 2012-05-23 15:55:04 Unknown
This number calls me every single day at work, sometimes twice. As most of you said, as soon as I pick up, they hang up. I don't have a Citibank card or any balance on my credit cards at this time so no idea who/why they're calling. So annoying!
Cal 2012-05-19 18:12:12 Unknown
this number calls frequently and no one is on the line when I answer. I've stopped picking up the phone when they call.
Christine Ashley 2012-05-11 13:37:40 Unknown
Calls all times of the day and evening. Answer and no response. Answered at least a dozen times and finally someone responded, asked for someone with the same last name, but not us.
targetship 2012-05-08 23:58:52 Unknown
I got them blocked on my cell which allows 50 free blocks. But on my landline, they call upwards of a dozen times a day! I have a sevre sleeping disorder and its killing my health.
I had Citibank account 25 years ago when I worked in New York city and this is definately not Citibank!
there is an implication that your "account" / credit history is in jeopardy.
they leave a call back number - 800-388-2200 - which I called a few times and you get a robo answer that someone will be with you shortly .... I'm registered with the do not call list and am waiting for my 31 days to come up so I can file a complaint.
has anyone tried to get the National Do Not Call org. to find out who these creeps and stop it?
Syd 2012-04-30 03:15:54 Unknown
Yep, these b*****ds called me five times in six hours on a Sunday! Fortunately I wasn't home so I didn't have to hear the phone ring, but they ought to be pulled aside and shot. I don't have a balance on my Citicard so this is B.S.
Annoyed 2012-04-21 20:33:50 Unknown
They call my house 6-8 times per day. They leave a message saying they are Citi Bank, but they aren't. When we answer the phone, we tell them to stop calling. They ignore us and continue calling -- starting as early as 8:15 a.m. How can I get them to stop disturbing us?
