I received probably the 4th text I've gotten from Employer Network this morning. I texted STOP to 41569. I got another text showing the alerts I was signed up for and could cancel individual ones or just text STOP ALL. I texted STOP ALL (also to 41569) and received a reply that I was unsubscribed from Career-Network Alerts. It said for support call 888-753-4394. Hope this might help someone!

Absolutely a SCAM. Those who say otherwise here must work for them. Here is the exact text message I got:

"Employernetwork: Hi Dan, call me about the Armed Protective Office job you have applied for 88864213100. (txt STOP to cancel)"

What kind of prospective employer would ask you to test "STOP" to cancel? THIS IS A SCAM. YOU ARE DOING THEM A FAVOR BY CALLING THEM BACK.

This is a confirmed scam operation that tries to get you to enroll in a "virtual college".

Job seekers will merely waste their time and risk breach of personal information.

I called them also, and the 1st thing he asked was my highest degree of education. I told him, he asked if I was planning on going back. I told him no and he said, well there are great programs to assist in your education. Its a scam to try and enroll you in some school program. Hang up ASAP

It comes from applying for a job online and being fooled by a scammer.  Caught me, too.  Beware of the job ads that take you to another website to apply, especially if you don't really know who the company is.  I thought this one was ok, because it said the MAYO CLINC and it was through Phoenix Career Central (website brand new 2011, I see now).  It forced the entry of phone numbers after already having uploaded your resume and other info.  I thought it strange, and had a gut feeling to not do it, but did it anyway.  Then at the end of the process, up comes this 888 number saying to call this number to complete the application process.  I got a text from them today....2 weeks later....saying to call them at this 888 number.  Nah....don't believe I will.  It's a damn state of affairs when you can't even apply for legitimate jobs with legitimate companies anymore because of the scammers out there.

Txt said:  41569:  EmployerNetwork:  Hi XXXX, call me about the Administrative Assistan (yes...misspelled) job you have applied for 8886421310. (txt STOP to cancel)

DON'T text STOP to cancel.  DON'T REPLY TO THEM AT ALL!

Research shows that this number belongs to TMC COMMUNICATIONS INC and that they have MANY other prefixes for this number.

I got a text from this number saying to call them back. A would think a reputable company would call to talk to me, not send me a text asking me to call an 888 number. No thanks.

I, too, received a text today to call the phone number. A "customer representative" answered the phone and said they screen applicants for jobs that the principal employers who post on Careerbuilder and other sites are too busy to answer ( I was already skeptical). He said he was in Florida and the call could take up to 45 minutes, which I would not commit to. When I told him I was on lunch from work, he told me he would terminate the call. I suspect they try to get as much personal info as possible.

Thanks for all these postings. I just got a text from them as well. What's so sad is in this difficult economy and job search environment, we have to put up with companies that take advantage.

I received a txt from them about a job I applied before.  And I actually called, seemed legit enough the way they asked questions and answered my questions.  I just hope I won't get tons of junk emails from now.

I signed up with them through a web-link (CL) about a job, specifically housekeeping, and it reeks of scam, as Kim said above.

Its a company from north new hampshire, running a job scam. They call themselves Career -network alert, but avoid them and their sign up. Its a lot of texting and running around. Dont bother signing up.
