Haha good luck with that! They won't even listen to your case. You are being called because of fine print you didn't read when becoming a bank of America customer. When you open the account or use the card or make a deposit......you take yourself off the do not call list. Even if you ask to be put back on as soon as you use the account you are taken off of it. 100% Legally. Get your facts straight before you embarrass yourself again.
DO NOT CALL ME! 2011-11-16 16:58:49 Telemarketer
I received a call yesterday from: 281-656-1988 for my husband. I was thinking, when I informed them that he was unavailable and asked how I could help them, surely they would at least told me why they called - but, no...the person stated that he would call back and hung up immediately.
This concerned me, since my name is on all of the accounts, as well. I was happy to find the information posted from previous individuals. I did place our number on the DO NOT CALL LIST, so hopefully our solicitation problem is solved!

My husband received a call from this number. He is also a Bank of America customer. When I asked was this call was regarding they told me that they are not allowed to give out that information. My husband will soon be closing his BOA account for GOOD!

That is a third party company calling you to offer you insurance. They call all customers of Bank of America. Being on the National DNC list does not affect whether you can be called by this company because of established business relations with BOA. Call your local branch and ask how to be removed from these calling lists if you cannot contact anyone at (888)665-9900,
virginia 2011-06-06 21:05:52 Unknown
they keep calling like 10 times a day.
Lisa Bennett 2011-06-06 21:05:52 Unknown
This number calls day and night, all hours. It is very rude of them. It needs to stop now!!! If it has anything to do with Bank of America, I don't want anything more to do with them. I pay them enough money as it is. I was a Countrywide customer and did not choose Bank of America on my own.
yeah 2011-06-06 21:05:52 Unknown
call over 100,000 times a day
Richard 2011-06-06 21:05:52 Unknown
I am so sick of these calls. Apparently, Bank of America's CEO is a complete moron or its board of directors consists of 8-year-old boys and girls. This is the best way to ruin customer confidence. Oh well, it's not the first American corporation to collapse thanks to crummy mismangement.

8886659900 called me probably 3 times, once every hour starting at 8am! The above posts show they call BofA clients, I'm not banking w/BoA but it's VERY irritating to receive calls from these types of places & even more so that early in the morning. Not EVERYone gets up at the crack of dawn.
JZ 2011-06-06 21:05:52 Unknown
Just called this number. It is BOA. I was connected to a recording that gave me an aoption to be taken of their call list. It took 30 seconds. Call the number and then select option 2

18886659900 2011-06-06 21:05:52 Unknown
No name, just a number. Apparantly, according to above posts, it's BOA. Funny how we're not banking w/them but still get calls. Must be for someone else. Will hafta remember to answer next time & tell them to quit calling...probably won't do much good though.

Bank of America Is The Most Crooked Company In The The U.S. Even Violat People On Disability Income That's Supposed Be Protected by Federal Government !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
888-665-9900 Is Probally Another One Bank of America Fake Hidden Anonymous Companies Since They Have Numerous Companies.
Scammed 2011-06-06 21:05:52 Unknown
This is definitely a phishing scam. Unsuspecting family member fell for it. The questions that were asked and answered caused us to be concerned not only about our financial safety, but our personal safety as well. We are filing police reports as well as addressing the potential financial fraud/identity theft. I would be extremely hesitant to even give them enough info to allegedly take you off their list.
These people are vermin and BOA will never get another penny of our money due to sharing our contact info with this sleazeball company!

KEEP CALLING 4 TIMES A WEEK ANY GOVT AGENCY COULD STOP THIS HARRASSMENT CALL
Stallion Horse 2011-06-06 21:05:52 Unknown
It's not the government's fault in this particular case, although I don't like the nexus between government and industry/corporations any more than you do, since that's fascism in a sense. However, I think the problem is 1) you need to take personal responsibility when you purchase goods and services by reading the fine print, because often, especially when purchasing with a credit card, via the telephone or Internet, or when signing up with telephone/cable/other utility services, that fine print often states that by purchasing, you give them the right to contact you whether or not you're on the 'DNC' list, thereby waiving your right to exercise your DNC privileges (and yes, it is a privilege, not a right, to own a working phone line) 2) NAFTA and other free trade agreements allowed for outsourcing of jobs--particularly call center jobs from which you receive calls like this--overseas, so many if not most companies took advantage of the cheaper labor and relocated call centers outside of the USA, fired everyone here, and aren't subject to the laws of the USA since the call ceners are located overseas, 3) unfortunately, everyone wants the government to provide services such as roads, schools, hospitals, and other things that people take for granted, but nobody wants to pay taxes for them--people expect something for nothing, and don't like 'government' until it's time for them to pass laws such as the one that provided for establishing a DNC list in the first place.
If you're really into the 'Glorious Government' Doing Its Job, and wondering where (not What) your Tax(es) go, you might want to rethink your ideology a little. Do you want the government managing who calls or cannot call you? If so, and you're wondering where all the tax money is, well..it's probably in Iraq or Afghanistan. All companies are 'crooked' in the sense that they don't care about individuals. Corporations care about profit, the bottom line, their stock price, and paying money out to stakeholders/shareholders/owners/etc..
I know I'm being a little sarcastic in my post, but you've gotta see my point, right? There's a little bit of duality (trying not to say hypocrisy) that I am detecting in your post, inferring from what you've said (although it is a bit difficult to read because it resembles English but isn't really written in that language, though there's enough in your post that I think I catch your drift). Neither of us likes what's happening these days with corporations, the government, and the way that citizens/consumers and people of modest means (financially). It's wrong, and we, along with the rest of the American/Western citizenry, should fight to change the way the system is working.
Thanks for sharing your opinion, thus allowing my response. All the best,
Stallion Horse

I get this lady calling me everyday, and when I finally answered, she hung up on me. I even get these calls after 9:00 pm, which is supposed to be illegal. I called the actual BOA, and they said that they are not affiliated with that number. They use different numbers all the time, which is hard to block them sometimes.

I am a customer with bank of america however when I get a phone call on my home phone that my bank dosent have , and at 8:30 at night I knew somthing was up. I answered and they asked for my husband. they were trying to get him to sign up for somthing, he asked for them to send him information . well they couldnt so he just asked for their company name telephone number if he wanted to buy the product and a name . the person only gave their first which also made me wonder.

I get calls from this number all the time. From early in the morning to late in the evening.
If anyone has an address, please let me know. I will send them a Cease and Desist letter also, and sue if they don't quit calling.
I am also on the National Do Not Call List, but I constantly get calls that I shouldn't.

Smart and helpful info, Tami....that'll stop many of the calls for many of the complainants on the board. I appreciate your post; I'm a former BoA customer, still have my login, and I opted out...unfortunately if you want to bank online, they have all that stuff checked by default, and the opt-out info (like most companies) can be hard to find (purposefully, of course) unless explicitly pointed out by helpful people such as yourself. Thanks.

I got a call from 18006659900 and they have bin calling for months I block one nber then they call back from another number I have calls just now and pushd option 2 for do not call list let's see what happins now if I get one more call boa will loose my buisness with them. If I want add call I'd put call me for adds but I don't. Why can't phone companies make a free option to where they can block add calls if you choose to have it blocked or not it's not like they can't do it they can but like most greedy money is everything can't please your custermers with a little kindness for being a good custermer for free can ya.

I've been getting calls from them for a couple of days now. I just opted out of all marketing on the website. If you chose to do this, make sure you print out your preferences at the end. Having a hard copy will help if it doesn't work. I was nervous about clicking a link that a stranger provided so I have enclosed the way to find the "Opt Out" on their website. You can also opt out by phone or at a branch also. I think this is better because there is no paperwork that can get lost and no one can make a mistake inputting your info.
To do it the long way:
1. Go to B of A website
2. Scroll to bottom and click on "Privacy and Security" (left side, 3/4 down the page)
3. Under "Privacy" click on " Your Privacy Choices"
4. Fill out form
5. Print copy of preferences
