They call me and when I answer, the recording keeps repeating please wait for a representative. I finally hung up. If it is not important enough for them to be on the phone when calling me, then I won't waste my time either!

I ignored the calls from this company for over a year.  Now they are taking me to court, and I am sure that my wages will be garnished.  I wish that I would have answered the phone and dealt with my debt in a reasonable fashion.  Now it is going to cost me big time.

Calls from this number is a voice message telling me to hold on for a important call.  If it was so important a live person would make the call I hang up on the call every time.

This is nuts.  Someone needs to shut this outfit down.  It's clearly fraudulent whether a debt collector or not-they are running scams and violating laws.  They have called here non-stop for many months. No debt and I never answered because I know all my contacts.

We received calls and let them know we were going to check with the medical service provider and our insurance. They seemed very sketchy on the phone. They reported we owed over $800 but my husband works for his parents and we have excellent health coverage so I was shocked by this. We found we did have unpaid bills some for as little as $4 and change. We paid the medical provider directly and saved hundreds. Not sure what kind of fees this company imposes but it was worth the time to save the money.

They call me at LEAST 5 times a day, every single day of my life. I clearly realize that I have medical debt, but I currently cannot afford to pay them. This is harassment. Every day, a minimum of 5 times, they call me. Unreal.

Ok Jane.......do your homework.  Did you know that medical debt cannot be bought due to HIPAA laws??? I am sure that the answer is no because you seem to only operate by your own misinformation.  And if you are getting called by a collection agency, I am sure that you have debts that are going unpaid.  Answer your phone for once or enjoy the constant calls day after day.

I received a call from this number and it has a recorded message to wait for the next available representative.  It took a few minutes and a guy came on and asked for Julie Smith.  When I told him there wasn't anyone here by that name he said thanks and hung up.  Weird!

Honest Abe my foot!  Clearly you work for these people and that is why you monitor this site and number.  These junk-debt buying companies have NO legitimate business with me yet I receive constant calls because of a common last name.  NO I will not call you back.  I will continue to block all such calls with my handy dandy 500 number storing call interceptor and you and your "too lazy to check for the right people" friends can waste your time.

NO......IT IS NOT ILLEGAL FOR A DEBT COLLECTION COMPANY TO CALL YOU AT WORK UNLESS YOU HAVE TOLD THEM NOT TO CALL YOU AT WORK.  ALSO, COLLECTION COMPANIES WILL CALL YOUR PLACE OF EMPLOYMENT TO VERIFY EMPLOYMENT IN ORDER TO SUE YOU IF YOU REFUSE OR NEGLECT TO PAY YOUR JUST DEBTS.  CALL YOUR LEGISLATIVE REPRESENTATIVES IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DEBT COLLECTION LAWS IN YOUR STATE.

Well......how is that working out for you?  If you are getting an automated message to call a company back about a very important business matter, it would be of your best interest to call back to see what they are calling you about.  Denial is not a river in Egypt.  You must have given your cell number to a creditor, or the company that is calling you has found your number through skip tracing capabilities.  Either way, it is not sound advice to recommend not calling back a company that has legitimate business with you.

Just because they SAY they are a State Collection Agency, does not mean that they are. People can call from any number and SAY they are anything. You could call me and SAY you are Beyonce. It doesn't mean that you actually are.

Until your workman's comp pays, it is on your credit report, but because it is a workman's comp claim, it will immediately be taken off once it is paid. You can check your 3 credit reports for free at annualcreditreport.com once per year. Check the report and then contact your hr department to make sure they are taking care of this. If they do not take care of it in a timey manner, you can contact a lawyer to get them to pay it. Lawyers will generally not make you pay them unless they win, and then their fee will be figured into the settlement if they are a good lawyer. Many lawyers will also give you a free consultation. Good luck!

Received call on cell phone. Finally, after over 9 months of calling left an automated voicemail. Said to call CJ from State Collection Services at 888-689-3894. However, no collection agency should ever be calling my cell phone as I never give it out, and I NEVER received a call on my land line. I do not recommend calling back.

This company has been trying to call me for months. I ignored the # because it kept coming up 888...so they got my parents # and my dad took a message and gave me the # to call back saying it was a c.a. I of course called it knowing I'm in no dept. They told me it was for an emergency room visit back 2 years ago and I owe $750. I remembered the date and told them this is a workmans comp claim and theyve got the wrong person. I told them to contact human resources at my company and I gave them the # to call. the next day I called human resources and told them so they were waiting for their call. 3 days later they were calling me back twice a day for a week until I finally answered and told them do not contact me again! I have nothing to do with this! The person on the line seemed arrogant until I asked if she had called who I told them to call, then she said no, she was just handed my account from the previous person I talked to the week before, and was told to "handle it". I then told her who to contact once again and once more I told her not to bother me anymore, she then apologized and said she would take care of it right away.10 days later and this company is constantly calling my parents again. I called h.r. at my work to see if this agency ever made contact with them and they haven't had any calls from them. I'm not about to spend money on an attorney to back these people off, unless this agency pays the bill for my attorney. I sure hope this isn't on my credit rating!

If you are so legit, why do you continuously call my home and ask for people by name of whom a) do not reside, nor have they ever resided at my address; b) no one in the home has ever heard of such a person; c) the person calling from your said legit agency not only has an accent, but it is so thick, one with a hearing problem cannot hear; d) upon being told that the information they are seeking is inaccurate, I am accused of lying and that the person for whom the caller is seeking "knows the person lives at my residence"?

Answer me that, oh legit, award winning, agency.

The only thing that I will challenge you on is what you said about the medical debt not affecting a person's ability to get loans, etc.  Untrue.  If you live in a state that medical bills affect credit such as Wisconsin, most lenders will not give you a loan if you have outstanding medical debts, and if you do get a car loan, the interest rate will be astronomical.  Medical debt lowers your credit score in the same manner as any other debt owed.

Unfortunately it's now a common practice for hospitals to attempt to squeeze more money out of a patient when they can't get the amount they want through Medicare and any wrap around insurance you may have. However, being disabled is throwing a wrench in their evil ways since they cannot garnish my disability or touch my bank account in any way. The best they will ever hope for is to get a judgement against me. That is doubtful since this practice is illegal anyway, and then they will never be able to collect on that judgement anyway. So keep calling fat-assess, your machine can talk to my machine until hell freezes over. I could care less.

I am sure people realize that medical bill ARE real bills that is why  some folks dont seek medical services when needed.  However all insurance info is entered into the system via a human and they do make mistakes. EVERYONE needs to check over all bills and insurance EOMB to see that it was properly submitted, Then check your receipts on what you paid.....to make sure everything checks out.Bills should be submitted in a timley fashion so that the turn around time is not out past 30 days. Most medical billers will turn it over to collections after 120 days.. when the bill submitted needs to travel for payment through 2 insurances that takes time.     I am praying that you do not ever have a  involved medical issue that you will have to deal with.

You need to contace all places you have visited for medical purposes and inquire about your bill. Then you need to call all your insurance companies.......Medicare also and see if bill was submitted . You will have to go over all your statements of EOMB,..(Explanition of Medical Benifits) and cross reference what has been paid  and what HAS NOT been submmitted -- Yes this will take alot of time!!  The case I am currently working on, most of the billS were NOT submitted to Medicare as this was the secondary coverage!!  It is against the law to not submit the bill to medicare.  Or any insurance that covers you. Inculding State Insurance  ie..Title 19 Medical Assistant and the likes. Know where you stand, your rights. You can always block these calls.  Also medical bill ...while they DO appear on your credit report, they do not always affect you if you apply for a loan, like to buy a car.   Good Luck!

I think the main issue here is the fact that there are many people who owe money to institutions and they are ashamed that they owe a past due balance and they shoot the messenger.  Let's face it, good people get put into collections, and it does not mean that a person lacks value or integrity because they owe a bill.  However, especially with medical bills.....since your health is your most important asset, it is important to treat your medical bills like they are real bills that deserve to get paid in the same manner that your other bills get paid.  Sometimes, we need to adjust our lifestyle (not go out to eat or to the movies) in order to speedily pay bills.  Now I will get off of my soapbox.
