Rude they had me thinking they were a law office that was trying to get my ex out.  He is serving 24 years in fed prison.  Thank god they are just collectors.  His sentence is still in tact thank god.  Everyone should feel the same, we are all safe for a while.

Question- I received a call from Fazone & Associates 716-362-4900 stating that my wages will be garnished if i don't pay $842.00 They wanted my checking account or credit card number by 3/--/08 otherwise fees will total well over $1600.00. They say that they have filed in my county on the date above.. First of all I have not recieved a summons and there is nothing on the log books for the date in my state. I can't find any record of this company listed and the number is residential.What should i do?Is This the Quadrant Group?

How do you know it's a legal problem b****ead? Case numbers are attached to a lot of different things. Guys like these use the words "case number" to get people worried that there is a court case. Jeez, how rude can you be? Do you work for them?

Don't call them back, they are piranhas waiting for your call and you probably paid whatever it is they think you owe. Also, it could be that someone could have used your identity.

I just got a call from these guys and they are giving me 3 days to make a payment for an old AT&T bill (6 years old) that I don't even believe that I owe to them.
I cancelled the arrangements I had made with them.  Should I have done that, or can they really turn it into the IRS without giving me any time to investigate what is going on?
Any help would be appreciated in dealing with these guys.

Called for my husbands ex wife, stated they were the IRS and he was in trouble... What losers! I'm reporting them to the BBB, they had us worried b/c of what they said. Ex wife is a big time loser and has stolen from my husband.

they called my house 6 months ago and told me about a providian mastercard that i stopped paying like 4 yrs ago. i thought is was a joke so i ignored their instructions and did not pay. i told my hubby he also said he refused to pay for a credit card that was 4 yrs aold. i stopped taking their calls and then just the other day....i received a 1099c form they actually are pursuing action against me and my lawyer says that now i may have my wages garnished. i am kicking myself because they were offering me a settlement  for 30% of my bill and now my family attorney has a retainer fee is $1250.00 alone which i also can not afford. i only work part-time i was so stupid to think this would all just go away.

i feel so stupid, that i didn't just shut up and pay them. now i am screwed.

You can't spell "paid" correctly, and then rudely implore people to "smarten up."  Thanks for the chuckle.

did you know that debt collectors get payed $15.00 to $20.00/hr working 40/hr week...thats why they are not in debt and you are...on line crying about your phone calls, come on now....quit crying, get a job, pay your bills, quit steeling money from those banks, by not paying what you own them.....its not so much the "bad" debt collectors but more so the "bad debters" if everyone payed their bills they would not havew a job. but thanks to you....good standing americans and make good money placing calls at a desk, rather that doing low paying jobs like yours....so get off the internet and get a job! pay your bills! i mean can you even picture both you and your spouse making 20.00/hr, X 40/hr week.... both in the business... bringing home that kind of money.....thats why people do it...............smarten up!!

My husband received a call from the "BUSINESS", below stating they needed to speak with us, our Attorney and our C.P.A., regarding an owed debt.  We didn't return the call, assuming that it was bogus.  The "RED-FLAG", was the whold CPA and IRS concerns they were inquiring about.

insensitive smuck

They have called my home and had last four digets of SS#, then they wanted our address.  We refused to give it to them, as we new we had no outstanding debt, and I read this blog.  They have since contacted my brother in law trying to get info about us.  I have no idea where and why this is happening.  Anyone have any clue where they came from and how to get rid of them?
