This just happened to me.  They called my mom and are calling my brother.  I also had an identity theft situation back about eight years that was fixed.  Ever since I've been putting up with this crap.  I will file the complaint.

This company is Called A&N Collections, LLC. They're doing business as  A&N Financial Firm.

The true names of the Owners of this company are Anthony Neal and Nick Alfano. They operate under aliases, as do all of their employees. Anthony Neal's alias is Jonathan Waters and Nick Alfano goes by Daniel DiRossi. Though Daniel DiRossi sometimes claims to be an attorney with A&N Financial Firm, he is not an attorney. NIck Alfano, on the other hand, is a second year law student who thinks that the 4th Amendment to US Constitution protects consumers against debt collectors.

Their "Corporate Office" is located at 27186 Newport Road, Menifee, Ca 92584

Their Mailing address is 26025 Newport Road, Box A-198, Menifee Ca, 92584

When you receive a call instructing you to contact this number that caller is an A&N Financial Firm dialer pretending to be a process server named John Howard or Rachel Owens. Any male caller will tell you he is John Howard and any Female, Rachel Owen. When you call that number you're going to be transferred to "Claims Litigation." The person who answers in Claims Litigation is going to tell you his or her name. This is not their real name either. Nothing they tell you is the truth.

If the person you are speaking to tells you that he/she is an attorney or paralegal, don't believe them. They're just debt collectors who have had no real training. Most of them have no idea what the FDCPA says.

FACTS:
1) In most cases, They cannot sue you for this debt because it is out of stat.
2) They have no intention of filing a lawsuit against you.
3) They do not have any of the media (documentations) associated with your Debt. They don't even have the original credit agreement.

You should do the following:

1) Send them a certified letter demanding that they send you Verification of Debt.
2) Contact your State's Attorney General's Office and file a complaint.
3) Contact the Better Business Bureau and file a complaint.
4) Contact a Consumer Advocacy Attorney

To answer many of the questions/concerns...

1) Collection agencies obtain your phone number (cell phone too!) several ways. Either YOU provided it when applying for credit, it is listed as your contact number through a service provider (doctor's office, school tuition office, etc.) OR, someone you know provided your name and phone number as a reference when THEY tried to obtain credit, and now the agency is calling you trying to track down that individual in an attempt to collect a debt.

2) Many collection agencies will NOT leave a message because your credit and financial information (or whoever used you as a reference) is considered private information. Would YOU want them to leave a message, and have your husband/mother/boss overhear it? I think not.

3) This is a legitimate collection agency. Make sure that you remain calm with this and ANY collection agency. Many are trained to play hard-ball, as the above entry explains. DO NOT FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE!

Be weary, if you hang up on them, get rude or curse at them, they CAN and WILL put nasty comments it your credit profile, there is a possibility that creditors can see these negative comments when you apply for credit. (ex. if you hang up: "Customer refused to pay debt and hung up after stating so.")

My Experience -- IC Systems called to inform me that an account of mine had gone to collections - the DAY after the doctor's office reported it to IC. The agent was firm and informative, but no more unpleasant than most customer service reps can be these days. Another young lady called me by accident looking for another client, and apologized profusely for making such a mistake.

They keep harassing me as well with multiple back to back calls, they don't leave messages, when I spoke to the female, she gave me a number I needed to call who was in charge of my case but could not answer any of my questions regarding what it was about or who is filing a "civil complaint" against me.  I have since filed a complaint with the Attorney General and the FTC.  You can file complaints online. I suggest everyone do the same.

Ok this company called my mom, scared her to death. She called me at work saying this company said I missed my court date and I'm going to be arrested.  Then she gave me a long 888 number and I knew immediately, this was some BS and Phishing call.  I called the company and I asked what was this about, the funny part is they won't tell you.  I'm thinking you call me, tell me I have a civil suit and I ask for what and you say what's your DOB and SSN..Hell No..Then you got two different last names for the person..Be for real..

Same thing happened to me today, Threatened that a bench warrant would be out for me, if I fail to cal them within two hours.
They have two versions of my first name (one is misspelled) and my SSN.
They never said they were a debt collector and did not ask me for my name, and I never said I was me.
The first thing they asked me as soon a i piked up the phone was: Are you in contact with Mr. ********
then i ask them to spell the name and they  spell it back to me in two different ways and gave me my SSN.
Then they said: "You need to tell Mr. ******* that he has two hours to contact us or we are going to issue a bench warrant against him, we are giving him two hours because we were able to contact you, (they did not knew who I was, they never asked) we are putting a two hour hold in this legal action. Our phone number is 8887356033 and the case number is ********* thank you.
And then they hung-up.
I don't know what to do.

I google the number and this is their website http://anfinancialfirm.com/

This number called my Father-in-Law and told him they were with the sheriff's department and that there was a "complaint" against me.  Also stated if I didn't call this number within three hours that I would have to go to my Father-in-Law's home  to be "served" by the sheriff's department.  I know a Detective with my sheriff's department and have emailed him with all of this information.

Caller left a message with ex-brother n law.  Said there was a warrant out for my daughter.   Crazy thing is that we have never used the brother n law for any reference or contact.  My sister divorced him over 15 yrs ago.

We didn't even know where he lived or his phone number to ever use him as a contact.  Gave other people's info as well.

They seem to be fishing for whomever they can snag.....doesn't sound legitamate to me at all.

This is again a number that tries to get money from you saying you owe money to someone. They went so far as to call my parents and scared them to death thinking "I was going to be arrested" The websites is BS that they give you, just laugh at them and threaten them with police action. They'll go away quickly.

Same thing happened to me! Threatened that a bench warrent would be out for me. This is a debt that was written off in 2007 and it was not mine! I never used the company they noted for any loan or credit. The frightening thing is they had my SSN! How can this be? This bothers me! They were VERY unprofesional and used very harsh scare tatics!

How do I report them?

I want to do anything I can to hurt them and make them pay for putting my wife into literal tears!
