I've noticed several calls come in from 800-528-4800 (all shown as "Unavailable" on Caller ID) and one left a message about American Express.  Most of the time there are no messages left.  But a call from 888-749-2742 came in as "Unavailable" on the Caller ID, and it was a robo-type call, also said it was Amex but not regarding telemarketing and I should return the call at 888-819-2135

Yesterday when they called, it was a quasi-robo call.  I sat here and listened to the message but didn't pick-up.  When there was a space in the robo call format, some name I'd never heard of was inserted and supposedly that was why Amex was calling to speak with someone about collections for a name that was completely unknown to me.   Then it said if I was not that person, I should call them anyway.  Ha.

Stop Calling me!!!!!

I have received over ten calls from this number.  It's time they realized that I am not accepting any calls from them and am requesting  them to be put on the  DO NOT CALL LIST.

Just got one of these automated calls at my work.  Don't have an Am Ex card.  Anyone find a lawyer willing to take this on?

Received call from this number today  2/7/2012  at 7:51 pm  Comes up unavailable on caller id.  When I picked up it was a taped message.  It stated (something to the effect) that this is American Express and not pertaining to telemarketing.  It has to do with collections.  I hung up because I don't owe them anything.  Going to notify authorities and contact a lawyer to file suit against this unscrupulous business.

One of several numbers apparently used by AmEx (even though they don't ID themselves as such). Multiple calls reaching harassment levels, even on a Sunday, even after payment arrangements had been made in writing. It's enough to make me want to cancel my card.

Typical American Express.... I've got all their numbers blocked on my phones so it doesn't even ring and it gives them a fast busy signal when they call.   These are the AMEX collections numbers:

It's not American Express, even though they claim to be. I called back and refused to give them my credit card number. Instead, I called the toll free number on the back of my American Express Card, and I said I was returning their call about an "important matter." They have nothing showing up on my account as being that urgent and don't even have this 888 phone number in their official list of American Express toll free numbers.

The CS rep took that number and said she'd escalate it as a phishing scam.

Amex tries to skirt the law by calling 30+ times a day from dozens of different numbers. Sue them.

It's American Express, I have an acct with them but owe them nothing.  I called this number back and the recording kept asking me for my acct#.  I would not say it or give it.  I kept saying representative and it finally connected me to one.  He asked for my name and I told him I would not give it to him.  I said who are you wanting, I have asked you'll three times to stop calling me.  He asked for my phone number and apologized and said he would have me taken off the list.  I believe I was talking to someone in India.  If they keep calling I'm going to close my account. It only says toll free call.  Don't know if the calls will stop or not.

They just left 3 voicemails in a row on our company phone saying we need to call them back but don't identify themselves in any way. Just an automated voice telling you to call them back right away and leave the phone number. No identification of what company is calling...

This number is listed on Caller ID system as 800 Service.  Really sneaky.
