Angel Murdoch is a well known scammer very soon to be brought to justice. You people should be very careful where and how you submit your financial info. Nowadays it is not advisable to do it anywhere .

No phone call, just found this phone number and the name Angela Murdock on my checking statement. After researching to figure out who debited my bank account, I found this web site. Tried contacting via the jonasbrothersfanclub.com web site but had lost my password so I had to submit request for password reminder & never received a response. Filed claim with bank but requested more information about the transaction or I would have to cancel my debit card. I finally found my user name & password, along with receipt of purchase (which made no mention of auto-renewal, only one-year membership) & submitted a request to cancel. The cancellation confirmation said the cancellation was only good through 5-2010!! I then tried to delete my CC info by editing my account info on the jonasbrothersfanclub.com site to prevent them from charging me again later, but the site wouldn't allow me to delete. I submitted another request to ban any further charges to my card and for a refund (even though, by now, it's been over 60 days) and have not heard back from this organization. I've never had this kind of problem with any online transaction in the past. I trusted that I was safe doing business with the Jonas Brothers!!

Hi out there,  same thing happened to me.  I call the card comapany and while on hold decided to check the web, and came across these site.. why couldn;t they put the Jonas Brothers. there I was thing My husband paying is having a net affair: a cheap one. LOL

Disputing charge. Now on their site they say my log in does not exist.  Wrote them lets see what happens.  Phone number out of service.

The 888 number continues to be "circuit busy" but I think it may be permanently unavailable! I did the same thing for my daughter (before purchasing member discounted tickets) last year. There is a link to "cancel the membership that just automatically renewed" on the www.jonasbrothersfamnclub.com website but my problem is I don't recall what my password is. So I requested to "reset my password" via the website -- waited a few hours -- nothing.  I requested to reset again .... still nothing.  I sent "feedback" to them and asked to cancel my account ... heard nothing ... It is now days after --- Obviously NO ONE is listening, and have no intention of answering anyone .....

This has every indication of blatant FRAUD --- a SCAM!!  It amazes me that the Jonas Brothers, whose reputation has them as good, respectable, role-models who come from an honest Christian family, would allow themselves to be associated with such dishonest, scum-bags who are trying to screw the parents of young Jonas fans, by sneaking a charge of $35 onto our credit cards, intentionally hiding behind the screen of "Angela Murdock" so it is even more difficult to catch. I wonder how many unassuming parents have already been victims of this SCAM.

I had no other choice than to put this CC charge in dispute.  I am relying on my CC company to back me up on this -- otherwise I have no other choice but to cancel my CC to avoid these Jonas rip-off artists from fraudulently  charging my CC in the future.

if only the Jonas Bros family knew about this because I am sure it's not doing any good to their reputation ... at least not in my household!

Are they going to remove the charges? The website would not allow me to cancel the membership.

I had the same credit card charge. Never realized they could automatically renew.  When I went to the web site to cancel it said my daughter was only a "newsletter" subscriber and would not let me cancel.  We don't get the newsletter but signed up due to a promise of pre-sale concert tickets for members.  When it came time to buy concert tickets we were not given a code by the fan club.
This is such a scam.  I'd be willing to file suit to stop this from happening again.  How many people have been "automatically" renewed and gotten no benefit from this membership at all?

Billy - Thank you so much for your comments!  I too, did not recognize the charges.  I called my credit card company, canceled my card and opened a dispute.  I also tried to research Angela Murdock but then decided to check the phone number.  It brought me to this site.  I will also contact the Jonas Brothers and report this.  Thank you...you put my mind at ease!

Hi all.  I just got my credit card statement and was trying to rack my brain trying to figure out who Angela Murdock was. I tried the number 1-888-782-7999 and also received a fast busy signal.  I called my credit card and told them I was disputing the charge.  They were nice enough to cancel the transaction.  It was really crummy of the Jonas Bros Fan Club to renew the charge from last year without informing me!!  They should change the name to Jonas Bros, etc!!  It's a scam!!!

No, I've only been trying to get hold of the crook herself. The Jonas Bothers probably are not aware of the mess they have on their hands, not to metion the loss of fans over this (or do they care).

Same thing just happened to me. Called the number and it is a fast busy signal. Googled the name that showed up on my bill, Angela Murdock and got to this site. The blogs on this site helped me identify what this was but I never authorized renewal of my daughters fan club account.

Go to the Jonas Bros Fan Club Site and go to help/customer service.  There will be a scroll down menu and one of the options is cancel my account.  Only problem is that u have 2 fill in username and password!  then there will be a prompt to cancel account.

To cancel fan club membership that auto renewed - Go to Jonasbrothersfanclub.com - log-in - click on "Cancel Account" - then follow instructions.  I was actually shocked that the next screen said "cancel my account that was automatically renewed", who does that without asking?  **Note - website says that the charge has to have been within 60 days to get credit**

same thing here. called my CC company in a frantic call that I thought somone got my CC. At least its seems legit. But also CANNOT get through on the phone # 888=782-7999. to cancel. It was probably in the very very fine print that an AUTO renewal will happen. This was last year RIGHT before the concert and sooo many people joined to get advance purchase.

ANGELA MURDOCK'S phone must be ringing off the hook with complaints. I've been calling the number and all I get is a rapid busy signal, meaning the line is overloaded, not that she's taking care of the refund requests. This is the closest thing to a SCAM I've seen in quit a while.

The exact same thing happened to me. I received several emails to re-new a Jonas Bothers fan club membership, but declined. Although a renewal was not authorized, an amount was charged for $34.99 anyway, a dispute has been filed.

Yeah this just happened to me too. How can it be legal to have automatic renewal as a default setting.

I did a little research as well, just to be sure it was Jo Bros.  I had written it down on my ledger, but wanted to be sure it was Jo Bros.  Glad to hear they are working on fixing the name...

Who is Angela Murdock?  Is she connected to Jonas Brothers?  HOw can I stop this?

Just talked to the club--it was an error on the credit card processors side. the Fan Club updated the address for account and the processors or whoever reset the name to the finance manager at the club. they've changed it for future billings and apologized for the mixup.

I had the same thing happen, now I have to wait 3 weeks for a new card. The Jonas Bros should send out a email that they are going to make a charge before they do it with a unknown name and phone number. 1-888-782-7999 is not even a working number now!
