I received calls from the number 1-888-807-7711 about 2 to 3 times a day. Usually once in the morning, around noon, and just after 5pm. I never answer it as I don't answer "800" numbers. I can almost set my watch by this caller. Message have be left which state "I have a case pending and it is essential that I respond, blah, blah, blah"

Caller looking for Mattie Martin.
Punched 4 if unknown but insisted on talking even when I advised that Mattie was totally unknown here.
Caller was rude and caustic when I said not to call again

After I began calling them back and blasting them with a whistle, I would then get another call, and the number was in Canada.

This company buys up old written-off debt for pennies on the dollar. If they collect even a dollar they make money. In my case they are calling for a "street person" who uses this address to collect his SSI payment. He once open a limited credit account with a high risk credit card company. Of course he had/has no money so they did not get paid. They call often.
I am retired so I have lots of time on my hands and am in need of diversion. I spend time each day calling and talking with whoever answers the phone, checking on the weather, and how they are---sometimes, I say oh look here comes Joe, hold on he will be here soon---then set the phone down, checking back in several minutes to find they have given up.....

I just wan to pass along some helpful advice. When these scumbags call, don't anser. Or you can press the talk button and then immediately press the disconnect button. this lets them know you're on to them. Above all, do NOT let them intimidate you. If they know they can do that and get away with it, they have won. If for some reason, you end up talking to them, remember it is illegal for them o tape you. So go ahead and give them a taste of their own medicine when it comes to using rude language. You have to fight fire with fire. That is all these lowlifes understand. Nice won't cut it. You have to stand up to them and be mean i return. A bully will only back down if he or she is stood up to. And last but not least, remember the whistle. If you take a call or call them back, blast the person on the other end with the whistle. Catch them off guard by calling from different phones at different times. It really works.

I tried calling back and got a recording saying I had reached a callback number that has been disconnected. I was going to give someone a whistle blast if a live person had answered.

In 2004, NCO Group was fined a record $1.5 million by the Federal Trade Commission for violating federal credit reporting laws. (NCO reported false information on consumer accounts to the credit bureaus in an apparent attempt to re-age expired debts.) To put it bluntly, NCO is a bunch of crooks.
Check out Bud Hibbs' report on NCO...he has advice on dealing with them: http://www.budhibbs.com/debtcollectorpages/nco_financial_systems.htm You can also read the Federal Trade Commission's announcement about NCO being fined: http://www.ftc.gov/opa/2004/05/ncogroup.shtm

These idiots don't give up. They have several different numbers and everytime I google the number it comes back to NCO. I have listened to the automated B/S and even selected #4 which is that they have the wrong number , but then they expect me to hang on and talk to them morons and I ain't gonna do it...............BEWARE OF THESE MORONS !
| Sonny 2008-01-03 21:22:35 Debt Collector |
These idiots have that automated system call me several times a day even though I have hit the # 4 option which according to their system is to let them know they have the wrong number. Instead , when you follow the options it tells you to hang on for a representative ....... It takes the lowest snake poop of the earth to work at one of these places that do this garbage!

Calls atleast once a day and when I don't mute the ringer I have heard it ring about 25 times. I don't answer because I never answer the phone unless the number is familiar. Now reading above comments I won't ever answer! I also find it amusing that two minutes after it stops ringing then another out of area caller calls with no number and lets it ring 3 times. It happens every time this number calls!

Didn't answer the call.

It's NCO Financial which is a really bad collection agency that will resort to illegal measures to try and collect from you. Beware.

Called and I answered and it was a machine saying it had a personal business matter for " " and to press 1 if that was me.
