This company is apparently calling every rideaux associated with my address and asking for the one
person that they have collected info on that is having credit problems and like a fool I had her call them. She does not even live in the same state as we do.
They say she can pay off a credit card debt if she gives them a post dated check by 9 pm the same night.
She never put any of us on her account for references. After looking into this, I told her to ignore them and contact the actual credit card company. I am filing this complaint becasue I am so disappointed that people pry on others the way they do.

They call and leave a message for D. Gregory. Must have had my number before 02/2012. Have told them it isn't his number. They hang up when I answer now. Must just be trying to look busy for their boss.

Got call on house phone (Not even my #--I rent a room and have NEVER given out this number as mine in 3 years). My landlord wasn't sure what to do, so gave the phone to me. The man on the other end was not particularly nice and demanding for verification of information.

Congress voted to exempt themselves from the "Do not call List", so calls from or on behalf of political organizations, charities, and telephone surveyors are exempt, as well as calls from companies with which you have an existing business relationship (or a Bank like Chase). You can request an exempt organization to put your number on their own do not call list. Most organizations will honor your request, if not, send them a Cease and Desist letter.
You can get a number blocking phone, download a cell phone blocking app or use the free special information tones (SIT), an international standard three beep signal indicating a call did not go through, which precedes a recorded announcement. Their predictive auto-dialer will be fooled into putting your phone number on it's dead list. So, start your voice mail recording with two of the SIT tones from your computer speakers, then record your voice mail outgoing greeting. Here is the URL to play twice:
http://www.yourhomenow.com/sound/sit-tone.wav
Your friends and relatives can ignore the tones and leave a message on your voice mail. If an occasional scammer gets thru by manually dialing your number and ignoring the two SIT tones, then report the call to the Attorney General in the scammers area code, the FTC and your phone company as well as a Cease and Desist letter..
Please note that this web site is a free public service allowing you to learn how to stop harassing phone calls. Creating a message here that says "Stop calling me" goes nowhere, YOU have to take action like a good concerned citizen.

Received a call today on a phone line that has belonged to me for 12 years. Did not answer the call. Message specifically asked for a person and instructed anyone else who may have picked up the message to delete the message if you were not that person. Clearly stated "this is not a solicitation, this is a debt collector..." and used the company name NorthStar Relocation Services.
Not sure why I am getting call on a phone number I have controlled for 12 years and I am not away of the person they were calling.

Found out that they were calling my relatives trying to track my brother down. How they get their number to call is beyond me, considering that they are calling an unlisted number.
Anyway, these borderline criminals are pretty resourceful, but not smart enough to simply call my bro at the number listed on his credit applications. Oh wait, they can't because he is still in Germany recovering from two 9mm wounds suffered in NE Afghanistan at some place called N2KL.

stop this daily call for relative that does not live here!

Chris Walsh of Northstar Location Services (he did not identify the company) called in regard to a "Personal and Urgent matter". Such a thing from an 888 area code has got to be BS.

Two words when they call: AIR HORN. They won't call you again.

These dudes keep calling me looking to speak to my ex-mistress (her name is tight a**). Now you have to understand, tight a** has been gone 4 years. what's the phrase, "tight a** has moved in in a different direction."
Then they start in asking me about my personal information. What gives. I tells 'em to jump in Lake Erie the GD MoFo s.

Ths is not a viable company according to the Better busines bureau. What they are doing is illegal so do not bother with them. If they keep calling put them on speaker phone with the Federal Trade Commissionand tell them their call is being recorded. The owner is an alleged pediphile. He's also a felon. They have numerous complaints with the FTC.

This number has been calling my phone for a while now, off and on. They never leave a voicemail, so I've never bothered. They finally left a voicemail today. The message stated they were calling for an individual (I'm not posting the name on here) that is dating my sister. No ties to my family whatsoever, so obviously I'm really interested in how they even retrieved my contact information. The caller did state at the end of the message that for legal purposes they did have to let me know they were trying to get a hold of this individual to collect a debt. Other than that, they did not give any other information. Per other reviews I have read this company is known as Northstar.

Just an FYI...about a month ago I purchased something on credit and they asked for 3 references. I asked why they needed references, and they told me it was in case I didn't pay my debt and they would contact these people to try to find me. So the do do this.

This must be a fraud just like the others. They call asking for someone we do not know and we have had this number for 20yrs. 'Tomorrow I call phone co. for new number. But anyway, we do not answer any unknown numbers, let them leave a msg. on the answer machine..

I don't know where this phone number comes from, but I always get a call from this number almost everyday near the same time (around 6:00pm/8:00pm EST time)
I answered this phone number once and I haven't gotten a reaction. Nor a voice mail.
All I know is that I want this number blocked.

Ron 2011-07-15 17:50:49 Debt Collector
I made the mistake of answering the phone (didn't have my glasses on & couldn't read the number). Some guy started asking for me or my wife. I would not verify who I was or who lived here, but demanded that he tell me who he was, who he was representing and what it was about. All he would tell me was he was John from Northstar and he needed to talk to Ron or my wife. I hung up on him and he immediately called back. I let the phone ring & he left a voice message requesting a call back. I haven't owned a credit card in over 20 years and refuse to own one because of their unsavory business practices. We paid off my wifes card over 2 years ago and have been working on becoming debt free. If these scum bags had a legitimate claim they would send documentation in the mail. They are on a fishing expedition to extract any information they can to try to legitimize their scam. I don't recall it being this bad until after the so-called bank bail out at taxpayers expense. This is borderline common law extortion on a grand scale and why is our government allowing it to happen. Why doesn't the atty general file charges against such companies or is our government complicit in allowing these crimes to be committed?

Calling for someone who does not live here. I have had this number 30 plus years and do not know the person they are looking for.

Jim L 2011-06-06 21:06:01 Unknown
Called me twice today before 8 AM, and they did not leave a message. I don't know what it's about.
I don't answer 888 numbers or "Unknown" numbers. When I do answer an "Unknown" number, I inform that I don't have a conversion with anyone that calls from an "unknown". I have also asked the person on these calls, if they walk around with a bag over their head, since they don't want anyone to know who they are? That should stop them from calling.

They called looking for my ex husband from 18 years ago. She interrogated me with question after question even though I told her I knew nothing about him now. I had to hang up on her. They call constantly so I am actually changing my phone number!
Steve 2011-06-06 21:06:01 Unknown
The person was very rude when calling asked for my brother who does not even live with us and said that this number was used on loan application. He insisted that he leave a message for him. When asked who was on the loan application the person would not answer my question and then hung up. I am not the delinquent person and I was treated very poorly for the debt of my brother. While appreciate that they have right to receive payment, my brother is an adult and knows his debt and is not sharing that information with me and does not want to talk to me about it. We did not co-sign on any loan and this would only be the proper way to contact my family regarding my brother's debt. This has been going on for years with debt companies trying to strong arm the wrong people, please help us!
Sincerely,
Steve H. Flattum

Received call for someone who does not live here. Called number and female answered . I told her I received unsolicited call for someone not at this number and asked that my number be removed from calling list. She replied OK not a problem.
Message led me to believe it was a collection agency, Northstar.
