Got a text message from 1-888-827-0090 saying
AT&T Free Service Msg: DATA USAGE ALERT! One or more of your mobile phones has incurred data charges that exceed $10 this month. Please call 1-888-827-0090 right away to discuss an unlimited data plan to reduce your family's monthly data charges.
I looked at my bill, and we don't have overrage charges? Anyone know who this is?

Got the same message a couple of days ago. I'm on with AT&T now, sounds like a phishing scam to me.

Got the same msg but states $30 in text msg charges. Called AT&T, I do not have an overage, and they had me send an email to privacy@att.com to report it.

Sounds like scam. I got the same message. However, they appear to have full access to my account.

Sounded pretty legit from AT&T -- he was definitely in a call center, and had access to my account (after I provided full name, address, and secret question answer). He upgraded the data plan on my bill, asked for no credit card info, and said it will appear on next bill.

I got one too. It said that one of the phones on my plan had incurred $30.00 in overcharges. So I called customer service and they had no record of it, and said that most likely it was a scam so i called it and gave them an earful. I'm pretty sure I used the whole darn book.......

Got the same message, but called AT&T using 611 instead. They did verify one of the phones on my acct had occured data charges... but not $10.

Got this same text-message indicating an overrage of more than $10. Called AT&T using a phone number we know to be theirs; we did have a legit overrage, but it occurred a month-and-a-half ago. AT&T says this number .. 888-827-0090 .. is a legit number for AT&T.

I believe this is a scam. I keep getting these messages. Mine always end in "reply stop to stop receiving these messages". I finally replied stop and got a conformation. About a week later, they started back up again. I'm assuming that AT&T wouldn't ask you if you'd like to stop, then continue anyway.
