Just got the same call.... Same heavy accent, same garbled message for the parts of it that would matter to me. Like I'm going to call this SOB back and pay him some money I don't owe!!!!

I received a call today on my business cell #.  The person calling claimed to be calling in regards to outstanding invoice from Penske.  I asked her to fax me a copy of the invoice.  Nothing received so far.  Tried calling back and got music then a dial tone.  Definately a scam

Another call was beeping in, but it was referring to an outstanding invoice with a customer #.

I believe this to be a scam also. Yes, they did have legit information i.e. account number, an amount that was real, etc... but, all of our invoices were paid in full at the time of rental.

Don't fall for this crap. Hang up and call the Penske number that you always deal with and verify payment information with them.

Never give important information to someone who contacts you!

I received the same message today stating there is past due invoice of $58.19 and this is an urgent matter.  I had to listen to it 4 times to even make out the return telephone#.  Caller ID showed up as 413-698-8971.

If the matter is that "urgent" slow down, speak clearly and stop the heavy breathing!

Caller said they were from Penske Truck Leasing and that I owed them money.  Gave an account #:  (not going to post it in case this was a legit mistake on Penske's part).  I have never done business with Penske and never will.  Visited Penske website and could find no information on who to call -- a human being, not a machine.  So, hoping this post will reach the responsible parties at Penske.  Is this an attempted fraud call?  Any lawyers in the house?

Just spoke with Penske. Even though they are mistaken that I owe them $22.72, I am at least confident that I spoke with the real Penske company. So it seems (in this case at least) the message I received from phone number 888-834-9187 was legit. I did not give anyone any of my personal info over the phone, but I plan to go into the Penske office in person to clear up the matter.

I just got a voicemail today requesting that I call back ph # 888-834-9187 ext56005. I had to listen to the message 5 times because the call quality was low and the caller's accent was heavy. I finally figured out the guy said he was from "Penske" and I had an outstanding bill. I know this is not true, and I immediately smelled a rat. I googled the number and of course I see that it is a scam. LONG LIVE THE INTERNET! POWER TO THE PEOPLE!

I wanted to let everyone know that this is an scam. Today I got the same claim as all of you expressed here, asking for an invoice that we owe from June. I asked for his name for name, he said his name is Steve Houng...first of all his accent was indian, not chinese... second thing I asked him for the invoice number that we supposed owe, and he gave an strange serial number C027262487. Same number 888-834-9187 extension # 55471. So, they use the same speach......
My recommendation just keep asking them questions, questions and more questions. They will tired and will not call again.
Also, ask them if they can tell you your account number....I don't think that they will go so far.

this lady "Vicki" has been calling my office saying she is trying to collect $987 for a past invoice that we owe for penske...haha i have allllll my invoices and paid by credit card at the time of opening and closing an invoice. penske owes me for an overcharge...lol i asked for her # and googled it and it and i told her about everyone calling it a scam and she got quiet and said thank you ma'am and hung up...wow

Legit business and is not a scam. They took over other leasing companies such as Bright lease... not a scam, pay your bills people.

Trying to collect an invoice for Penske Truck Co.  I called back and the person who left a message left the following information to call back 888-834-9187  his extension is 55460 I called back and told them that I knew they were running a scam and that I was going to report them. I also asked them for proof my business owed them money, and I have not seen it, YET!!

I'm glad I found this.  I got this phone call today and luckily no one picked up.

rec'd call from someone regarding past due invoices.  Connection/voice quality was terrible.
