These morons are trying to collect a debt I paid off about a year ago. One company is called AFB the other IDK .

i just received a call from an unknown number and a female telling me im being served with papers and if i call 800-836-3414 and settle this then she wont need to serve me with papers WHAT PAPERS!!!!! I DONT OWE THEM ANYTHING...

I just received a call from an unknown number and female sounding the same way as pstjat's call. She told me to call the attorneys at 888-836-3414 to settle out of court on a fraudulent check case. This is not the first time I have had calls from scammers in the last year.

A woman named Monica Evans called my home yesterday. She left a message asking for my husband to tell him to contact my daughter about a fraudulent check charge. She used my daughters maiden name, so her info was at least five years old. She threatened that if no one returned her call, she would be at our house within two hours with local authorities. If she couldn't find my daughter, she would proceed to her place of employment then on to any other place where she could possibly find her. This all sounds like an outright threat to me. As soon as she hung up with our number, she called my other daughter with the same message.Says this message serves as her summons to appear. Well, appear where? That she doesn't say.Turns out, it has Nothing to do with any kind of fraud at all. Supposedly an old closed bank account with some left over fees. I am filing a complaint against this woman and her company(which she didn't idenitify) I had to call the number and ask. They give very murky details and hope they've intimidated you enough that you just pay what they want you to.
