i thot it was a scam at first but they got a debt of mine removed off my credit report cuz i was trying to get a home and now im eligible

The just called my dad asking for me. I have an unowed amount from 7 years ago with a jeweler company. They were giving me a similar shpill, saying they were gonna serve me papers to go to court. Then they said I would owe 3500 if we went to court or I could make it all go away for $700. How pathetic. When I say this previous persons post I was thrilled to find out the same (pretty much) thing happened.

Luckily I didn't have the $700 in my bank account or I would be screwed.

This company called my husbands work thinking he was his cousin. When husband called back he informed them he was not said cousin and asked for a number to call. Then called said cousin and said you need to contact these people. The cousin called and it was about a 3500 debt but the company said they would take 700 and call it good. They asked for the papers to be sent and then they would work on taking care of the debt. I would guess they never get any papers.

They handle legal cases and if they contact you its probably because you have a case in their office, i thought they were debt collectors lol. I felt pretty stupid.

What did they say to you?  I got a call too. What is this about?
