i forgot to say that the voice mail said it was a debt collecting agency, but didn't leave my name...

Left a voice mail asking me to call them back prompty.  The person said the name of the company so fast I could not understand what it was.  I called back and the first line that is said by the automatic voice is "thank you for calling all of our operators are currently assisting other customers.  Please wait for the next available representative.  The phone clicked twice then I started hearing "If you'd like to make a call please hang up and try again, if you need help hang up and then dail the operator." The voice did not sound exactly like the typical recording we have all heard.  It was suspicous.  Don't call.  They don't even leave your name so its probably not legal.

They call me all the time. When I finally figured out it was a debt collector I called back to see who I owed, and they CLAIMED that I owe Wells Fargo $90-something. I couldn't remember owing the bank so I said, OK, send me a letter and I will send a payment. They acted surprised that I had never seen a letter from them in the mail. Needless to say I never received a letter in the mail. When they continued to call, I continued to request some type of bill because I do not send payment info over the phone. They have yet to send anything. Very sketchy. I wouldn't give them any information.

yeah i keep getting this number. 1-800-847-8072. calling me 2 to 3 times a day. its so frustrating!!!!! im dept free. so y and the hell they keep calling me!! ehhhh so i dont pick up nor call them. there a bunch of dumb a**es who want to screw you over and take your money. blaaaa piss on them!!!!

I found out that I owe $44 - Wells Fargo bank made a mistake when I closed my checking account.  They did not close the account and then charge me fees and sent the fees for collection   WFB said it was their fault and that they will reverse all charges and call the collection company to cancel the collection.  So it is a legit call from West Asset Mgmt for me.

Same problem like the others on the blog.  Is there a way to stop them?  Does anyone know what they want or want to sell?

I'm with most of you guys on here. I keep getting calls from this West Asset Management place, telling me they're debt collectors. I don't even have any debt in the first place! They've been calling me under a local number first (giving a different # to call when they leave a message) for probably a year or so, but just today they called me under the 888 number Bio Cat posted. Sneaky people. I've been getting so annoyed and fed up with their calls that I'm about to complain to somebody about the calls.

Got recorded calls for 11 weeks(once/week) starting Feb 4, 2010. Recorded voice identifies as West Asset Mgmt, a debt collection agency. Voice says to please call 888-847-8072. Makes no mention of any debt details or to whom debt owed. (I am debt free). I contacted California Attorney General's office at 800-952-5225. They sent me a Consumer Complaint form which I will fill out & return to them. When I was on phone with them they had info on file on West Asset Mgmt so they are aware of problem. Hope we can put a stop to these jerks & maybe send some of them away for awhile.

Same as other posts, the number 888-847-8072 keeps call saying they are debt collectors.  We don't have any past due debt.  Was going to call back until I checked with Web site.

THey called, and claimed a debt on our son.  Upon questioning which they realy did not want to do, could not give any details of the debt except a creditor and an amount.  Sent them a letter to cease and desist caling and aske dthem to delete the phone number.

I'm so sick & TIRED of these jerks calling everyday, several TIMES a day! I had to turn off our ringer just to not hear the phone ring so much. Message says it's a debt collection agency and like the others, I don't owe anything. I'm sick of them calling daily, asking us to call them back. Sometimes it does what the others have said and it says the message, then goes to: "If you'd like to make a call please hang up and try again, if you need help hang up and then dial the operator." kind of thing and then the annoying beeping that goes along with it--all on my answering machine, yet if you answer, the same thing happens. I'm FED UP with this and we're also on the DNC list, so much for having that list--doesn't do crap!

They keep calling and say the same thing as all the other posts and it is every day. Also I never called it back.  When they call me though two different numbers come up at the same time on my caller id, one is the 1-888-847-8072 and the other is 804-234-9116 which is registered to a Virgina address.  I wish they would just quit calling already I am getting very annoyed.

Had the same problem several months back.  Called me at 6am every morning, annoying alarm clock. I never pick up from #'s I don't know.  Apparently, I got so annoyed, finally picked up.  They were asking for some guy named "Steve".  Told the operator I don't know who it is, and it's very annoying for them to call me every morning before I my wake up time.  Operator removed my # but was very rude!

A few months later, I'm now receiving the same calls.  VM says they are looking for "Mobile Airwaves".  I looked up their website, I'm not subscribed to anything they have. Anyways, this just started back up.  Not yet calling every day.  We'll see...

This company has called me at work several times. Makes no sense because I dont give out my work number to anyone and I dont have anything delinquent or overdue. My boss told me it was someone from Western something...I hope they never call again.

The name of the company is 'West Asset Management'. They are apparently a collection agency. I see plenty of complaints on the web about their tactics.

I get call from these idiots every day!  When you call back, you are on hold and then it will hang up on you.  I wish there was a way to block these calls!

got the same thing as other report. recorded message said name so fast couldn't catch it, but I won't call the number. Probably will report it to the local county attorney, and fcc. Message they said they're a debt collector. they're calling every day, and I don't own anything to anyone.

Just recieved a call asking me to return a call from a I think "Asset Management co" we do not owe anyone money and did not call this number back.

I read on another site that this number is a collecting company. West Assets Management. I have no idea how they got my information including my work number, which i dont give out to anyone. But Im a little perturbed and frustrated at them right now.
