I had a voice mail yesterday from 888-871-6461 saying I recently attended the Canadian Motorsport Expo (which I did) and I was the winner of a Ford Bahama Vacation. Because I attended the show and did fill out a couple ballots, I thought it was legit. But the voice mail said I had to call back today between 10-1 pm ET or else the prize would be awarded to someone else. I work in marketing, and we would never force someone to claim a prize within a short period like this. We always provide 1 week+ for a potential winner to claim his/her prize, and then there would be an affidavit required. Fraud!

OK - I have read what everybody wrote - BUT, I am hear to tell you MY EXPERIENCE WITH DAVID!

Yes, my husband also entered us into something at an RV Show in TN and yes we did get a call and yes my hubby paid the amount that was asked if we were interested in all of the lovely places that were offered!  Due to certain circumstances, we were not able to even start booking our vacations.  Almost 2 years later; I am in touch with David; who has always been professional and at the same time understanding!  I am now ready to start booking my vacations!  Woo Hoo - I am so excited.  For the price that we paid <which just to let everyone know - that I have never seen any misused charge on my account> how can you be excited; for the price that we paid would only cover two (2) days accommodations and with this offer; WOW!  I will keep everyone updated on my adventures with PARADISE RESORTS.  For all of you haters; back down..........until you have started from A to Z, then let us know your experience.    THANK YOU DAVID!

Sorry for those who were caught.  This might help any other person(s) who get roped in and still have time to get a refund.

If the seller is from the State of Florida, they are governed by the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services.  Official Site: http://www.freshfromflorida.com/

You may also file a complaint through them, as well as with the Better Business Bureau.

Under the 2013 Florida Statutes, Chapter 559, Part XI - Sellers of Travel, Section 559.933 - Vacation certificate cancellation and refund provisions:

It shall be unlawful for any seller of travel or assignee:
(1)?To fail or refuse to honor a purchaser?s vacation certificate request to cancel if such request is made:
(a)?Within 30 days from the date of purchase or receipt of the vacation certificate, whichever occurs later; or
(b)?At any time accommodations or facilities are not available pursuant to a request for use as provided in the contract.

There are provisions under that section. You will need to look and see if some apply.  You may view the 2013 Florida Statutes through the Official Internet Site of the Florida Legislature at:
http://www.leg.state.fl.us/Statutes/index.cfm ... s/0559.933.html

In order to request a refund under the statute, you need to do so in writing. Upon mailing the letter, if the seller still refuses to refund your money, if you can prove the seller received that letter, the credit card company should refund your money as part of the statute and should pursue the seller.  Check with your credit card company directly for more information.

Hope this helps.  Good luck

I was suspicious but got burned anyway. This is what stress does to a person. You give into the littlest thing that sounds the least bit awesome because you just really need a break.

Yep, I just got scammed. I went to the women's show, filled out a bunch of ballots, and next thing I know, a woman calls me up today and says, "I'm Sara Koch, promotional director of Paradise Resorts and Accommodations. We have just pulled your name for a "highly discounted vacation package for ... get this...." And then she rattles off the details of my "win." 10 nights in Orlando, Daytona, Ft Lauderdale, and the Bahamas. You can take them all at once or you can split them up. And guess what? It's only going to cost you $99! $99 for you and for your husband, and you can even take 2 more people absolutely for free. Sounds too good to be true, right? Oh, let's not forget the 2 cruises to get to the Bahamas from Florida absolutely for free. She then gave me all kinds of phone numbers - customer service (1-888-871-6461), the Florida Division of Consumer Services (1-850-488-2221 turns out it's the Commission of Agriculture with what really sounds like a fake webpage - but I didn't find this out until after), and the number she is calling from (1-727-526-9195). She gives me the company's licensing number (ST35801).

Like I said, I didn't have a computer in front of me. If I had, I'm sure I wouldn't have let my guard down so easily and gotten scammed. Sometimes you just want to trust in a good thing and it's a shame companies like this one make it impossible to do so.

After hanging up, I immediately called my credit card company but I was too late. The bi*** had put it through already. The charge was pending, so the credit card company couldn't block it. I have to wait until it goes through fully to dispute it. I then tried calling all the numbers - no luck, no answer. I emailed the email provided to me (sales@paradiseresortsandaccommodations.com) and lo! It bounced back because that email address does not exist. That was when I knew for sure. Yeah, yeah - I'm an idiot. I wanted to believe it. The terms and conditions stipulate that they will cancel your order/reservation/whatever it's called without penalty within 30 days if you write to them. So I wrote a letter, printed out their terms and conditions (which have spelling errors, by the way), highlighted the cancellation section, and will send it tomorrow the moment the post office opens. But I will still dispute it formally through my bank because I DO NOT TRUST that the company will defer to my letter, even if their terms and conditions say they will.

How can you trust a perpetual liar? It's like putting your trust in Rob Ford and Ford Nayshun. This experience has made me feel like a real tool, but hopefully others will learn from our collective experience.

Oh, the address to cancel (supposedly) is:

I signed up to win a free trip at an event in NYC and this guy "Rick Evans from Paradise Resorts and Accommodations" called up a few weeks later saying I was the lucky winner. I was waiting for the catch and he got pissed when I wasn't excited. As he was spewing the things he wanted me to write down he proceeded to be the RUDEST person I have ever spoken to in my life. In the end he asked for my credit card and he hung up when I didn't give it to him. Horrible human being.

Just got a call from this guy name Rick Evans.  He got my info from NY Comic Con.  He said that I won all this stuff like free nights at Orlando, Ft Lauderdale, Daytona and Bahamas.  He was really trying to sell but I was skeptical.  While he was on the phone I started googling his name and company and I came across this.  He was said it was just $99 for the first 2 people and the second people are free. I told him I didn't have my card on me and he said something and hung up.  So glad I didn't fall for this scam.

At the New York Comic Book Convention 2013 I filled out a ballot to win a trip to Disney World. I received a call from Ms. Carol Morgan from Paradise Resorts Accomodations saying I won. I was asked to give a credit card number and a while later I received a second call for another credit card number. Both were charged 99 dollars. I told a co-worker that I won a trip and he said it was a scam and that I should look into it. Once I did I found this link.

So I immediatly removed any money from both accounts. I called both credit card companies and they marked both payments as being fraudulent. I also cancelled both credit cards and am having new ones sent to me.

I will be in further contact with both credit card companies but it looks like I stopped them from receiving a dime from me just in time. I may not see my $198.00 right away but since the payments have been marked as fraud chances are they won't either. And if they do and I'm out $200, that's life but at least they won't get more than that.

They took $198 from me as well. When they called to say I "won the trip of a lifetime", they told me that I couldnt call that same number back AFTER already giving them my card info. Also the guy told me it was going to be a one time charge to my account well the decided to take it again about a month after I had talked to them, and that when I went to the bank to tell them something was fishy. They had a legal team look into it and APPARENTLY they say that s*** is f****ng legal because its only showing the one transaction on my account history. So what am I suppose to do??

Got a call 1(239) 673-4712 Florida saying I won a trip . This scam is very elaborate I went to a motorcycle show signed up on a ballot to win a trip to the Bahamas the number above called me the girl said her name was Shannon with paradise resorts and accommodations. She said did you go to the motorcycle show and gave me the name of my husband which I had provided on the ballot. Then proceeds to go through the package prize at the end she gave me confirmation numbers and a number to call ( consumer services 1(850) 488-2221  and her so called license number ST35801 and then told me she would need me to make a $198 deposit for processing and booking charges that the so called travel agency had to charge to confirm my spot then said I would get a packet in the mail for additional booking information. I bought it hook line and sinker. Then after hanging up I got the this is too good to be true hebi gebi's and tried calling the numbers provided they were bogus and nothing added up. I called my credit card company cancelled my account and reported the fraud . Hope those but heads  burn in hell!!!!! Please don't fall for his like I did

this just happened to my boyfriend last night! got a call saying that when we were at the monster trucks in madison last weekend we filled out a ballot for an 11 day vaca to orlando/daytona/and ft lauderdale then a cruise to bahamas. said he won and asked for credit card to secure the trip, said no money would be taken out until we gave them the 30 day notice on when we wanted to use the trip. the man also gave him his name and sales id number along with numbers to the American Travelers Association so he thought it was legit and gave it to him. well he just talked to the bank because I told him about everything i was reading on here...they took the money already. The bank is checking into it but im sure hes just screwed out of the money. I tried to call the phone number 888-871-6461 and u get an ansr machine that says their hours are from 10-2 EST and they are busy assisting other customers and to leave ur number and they will call back....YA RITE.....
