I got a voicemail from "Claire" and it sounded like a telemarketer thing. Now that I know for sure it is, I won't answer/return their calls.

Just got the same type of message.  They asked for the owner & I said he's not here & I promptly hung up.  Then she called right back & left a message saying someone 'rudely' hung up on her.  I feared it was a client, but I'm glad to see it is just some annoying telemarketer.  Unbelievable!

Do any of you use Godaddy? The ringing from this 888-874-3791 number has been interrupting my work starting right after calling Godaddy from that phone number. Anyhow, that aggressive telemarketer can spend lots of time and money calling, but no one will ever pick up from this end. Only takes a second to delete them. Hopefully the Godaddy thing is just a coincidence.

I received the call, then the e-mail. I responded that I am not interested and thank you and I heard the message recorded on my machine next week...

one at home and one on my cell

I should have said "My business number is on the DNC list..."

This woman at ext. 3008 left a message for me to call her...no information as to what she wanted to talk to me about. So I did a search of the 888 number that she gave me and found this site with all the information that I needed to know that I was not going to call her back. The business number is on the DNC list...which does not work! How do small businesses get telemarketers to stop calling. Most of the time they hang up on me as soon as I ask them to take me off their list and of course I get a call from another person working for the same company about a week later....UGHHHHHHHHH!!!!!

Love this site by the way. I am a small company and have been getting calls from them as well. I wont be returning them. Thanks for the info everyone.

how do these companies get ones cell phone number?

Call came in and sounded very suspicious they wouldnt tell the person who answered what they wanted then hung up when started to get questioned on reason for calling.

They called me..said that emailed me about getting my website to the top on the list!  One time fee of 20.00.  Told that not interested and was in the process of asking to have me taken off their call list.  She hung up on me before I could do it.  I then called her (TAMMY BROOKS X 3011) and she didnt answer, so I left message to remove me.  Think they just fished my company name off the internet.  They have come up on ***RIPOFFREPORT.com

We received a couple phone calls from Main Street Host also.  I checked them out and did not see good reviews or comments, plus we already have a website maintenance contract with our designer, Middsgroup.com.  I found out that MSH is legit company, but do a lot of telemarketing for their business.  I called the number, asked for the Telemarketing Dept. and spoke to Dennis. I told him we were not interested and asked him to put me on their 'no call' list.  He said he would and 32 seconds later I got a callback from Tammy, one of their telemarketers.  I guess Dennis did not get to her desk fast enough.  I told her the same thing I told Dennis, she wanted to give me more info, I told her I wasn't interested and hung up.  We'll see what I get now, but if they call again, I will be reporting the company as harassing telemarketing.

I put my phone number embedded inside of a graphic so that I wouldn't have bots picking up my number. Well apparently this loser had enough time to browse very insignificant websites and spam me with calls. He is bombarding me with pre-recorded messages too. FYI his registered name on a Blackberry App Number finder I have is Doug Stark.

If Main Street claims to be so proficient at SEO, then how is it when one Googles your phone number it comes up with the "bad press" before your website?

yes you are rite kurt i did say you are wrong when you said no one looks for your service online when infact they do. we spoke for all of 2 min before you hung up on me. and yes we do have and excellent service that you are missing out on

I am the manager at a Radio Station. Someone from 1888-874-3791 (Main Streed Hosting), called my office and left a message that my WEB-FEED is messed up and there's something wrong with it. I called back to find out this is nothing but a "SALES PITCH"... A woman named "Clair" at ext.#3003 would not shut up!  This company is a "Dirt Bad Organization".. Don't do business with them.

The caller first told me how talented I was and if I ever was in town to call him for a job. Then he went into a 10 minute sales talk about how I got selected for a special promotional price for SEO and that it could make me money by taking their results and suggesting my clients have me update their sites to be better. I am always skeptical of sales calls. It was $9.99 for each domain and he suggested I do a couple tests on my site. I told him I don't care about my site because obviously my SEO is working if he got my number. After a few more minutes of "no" he got the drift and left me his number for me to call back later.

I keep getting calls on my cell-phone from these guys. I keep telling them I'm not interested in SEO as I don't want people to find my website. I have to work hard to ensure all the searchbots and web crawlers are blocked!

This company is horrible.  We did the $10 diagnostic and a lot of good that did.  They never mentioned what they were going to specifically do.  Why would they I guess?  After many trying phone calls with a guy named Trevor, he proceeded to tell me that I was WRONG about my industry.  Who says this???

Bottom line is that this is an aggresive, abusive, company that preys on bullying the sale.  They may initially do something tangible but I really don't care now.

I received a call from this company yesterday. She asked about my website and I said, no thanks, i'm not interested in anything new, thank you. and i hung up. i then received a voicemail today from the same phone number and she said, thank you for hanging up on me yesterday, i was actually looking for a relocation specialist in the Springfield area, but now i'm going to get another broker, if you want my business, you can call me @ 716-715-1928 and tell me why I should choose YOU after you so rudely hung up on me. So, I called this woman back and I said, i'm not sure who you are, but i received a very strange voice mail...she claimed she picked another broker and settled on a $250,000 house in Manassas, "so there" and then she hung up on me. Then the texting started. I told her, i'm happy for you, but its a little hard to believe you found, purchased and settled on a home all in one day. Meanwhile I looked up the phone number and put two and two together. This woman never mentioned looking for a home, of course, and even if she did, why would she call from the work phone number? She has harrassed me and continues to harrass me by texting me. She probably has some unmet need to finally "stick it to" one of these dang REALTORs she's been calling (who probably all hang up on her). I finally said, you know, you're right, Telemarketer 1, REALTOR 0. I lose. LOL.
