I got a call from these nuckleheads asking for me using my last name of my ex husband that I haven't used in over 14 years saying there is a pending court case. Being that  all my bills are paid to date makes me wonder what they want.

Our household received two almost identical messages today from two people at Goldstein LLC.  They knew our daughter's name, my name & my husband's name and said they had paperwork on a legal matter that they received today.  They also stated they sent us documents on 11/1/2012.

First of all, I owe no one any money; our credit is stellar.  That these people call, with foreign accents, pronouncing our name in a European dialect makes me irritated.  I am not calling back and intend to act like this never happened.

h, yes I got something similar, different name, and said something about sending me to court? The whole thing was suspicious to me also. I told him to send me a letter and hung up.

I got a call from a Michael Harris who called my father in law and gave him the info I needed to locate who he was. he has been calling constantly on my phone. I finally talked to him and he says he is an attorney and that he needs to speak to me or my attorney. I refused to give him my name, because the call was recorded and I didn't know if he was legitimate. He sounded suspicious and hassled me. I told him to send me a letter because I haven't gotten any yet and hung up on him.

I got the call from Ms. Jones also - not sure what it is for as she left a message that it was "imperative" I call her about case #56478-CA or something like that.  She sounded very intimidating but that doesn't work well with me.  Glad I saw this site - now I won't call her back.  If they are legit, I will get a letter or summons in the mail - I'll wait for that.  Oh, by the way, some of us have tragic circumstances that happen, precluding us from paying a bill right now.  To those who say "just pay your bills", I say, "judge not lest ye be judged."

Its a legitimate law offices on behalf of creditors. My instance was an old HSBC account that was never resolved. If you contact them and actually speak with them, they are not trying to scam anyone. If you have a re-issued cell number or otherwise, contact them and explain to them that the person they are trying to reach is no longer at that number. They were extremely helpful in offering a settlement that would fit my budget and reduced my balance.

The real low life here is you.  You can use the Lord's name in vain on one line and on another ask God to bless America!  I came to this sight because I got a call from this number.   I did call back only to find it was for someone I used to work with and they were tracking him down.

I just had my father call me saying some guy Kevin Carlson was looking for me and I used my father as a reference.  Last time I checked, I didn't put my father down on anything.  So, I just called this "Kevin Carlson" and told him to stop calling my grandparents and my father.  I hope this idiot calls me because I will tell him where to shove it.

All I have to say is if its real, send me a letter.  I'm sure you can find my address since you found my grandparents phone number and my fathers cell phone number.  Jerks.

first of all.....i do not fear my phone....i have no issues to address...furthermore, I didn't borrow the money, someone else did....therefore, I was wronged, did not steal.......becareful what you state because until you know any facts of someones personal info or credit, do not slam anyone when this happens to them.  you have no idea what happens when this happens to you......

Oh one last thing..... DO NOT CONTACT OR CALL BACK OR ANSWER any collection agency calls.  There are so many scams...so many whos had their personal info stolen (ie; ss numbers, dob, addresses...) which is used to get loans with your info...never paid back and then you eventually get bugged for it.  Please carefully study your states law on collection agencies....do not ever settle a debt with a second or third party..... once the original debtor (ie; chase or american express) sells an OLD debt you had owed them, you have NO contract with any other debtor except them.....so, they chose to sell it off, the "highest bidder" bought your old debt hoping to make a butt load off of you, only if you fall for it and contact them.....so again, be ware and leave it alone.  For those who state, "well, pay your bills then".....easy for you to say until your info has been taken, used and abused.

I got the same voice messages....2 times already!  When i read your posting, it was like listening to my voice mail all over again!! hahahaha.... these collection agencies try to thrive off peoples fear and many times it works.  I have studied the collection agency laws in my state...california. I have saved my vm and will turn them over to my state attorney for any action to be taken.  AVR? I thought it was an EDR.  anyways, i listen to the message and he stated that the AVR is scheduled for this friday at 330!! What a crock of crap!  Again, a fear tactic and its very harrassing!  All the other wording that you stated is just what he has stated...."imperative".... "hates to be the bearer of bad news"..... wow, im glad to know that I am not the only one that this Trey Harris is  trying to bully out of money!

Yes! what is going on? Ms.Chelsea called and wanted my personal information and money (when I am limited to work). I wanted to call back when they left me a message to call back to verify some personal information. I thought it weird so I came across this section and read some of your feedback. Yes, the message left in my voicemail sounded legit but I agree YOU NEVER KNOW.

They called my in-laws # and am not sure how they got their #  when I do not have their number and left a message for me to call them and that I had a court day meeting and need to go to jail. WEIRD! Why don't they wont say what its in regards of beside getting personal information and take money away!!!!

why do goldstein and associates group needs to call someone or those who has been unemployed for so many years and barely live day from day. why are you rude and demanding in your conversation? can you go to bed with a clear conscious? Why do you want to make innocent vulnerable people has sleepless night?

I understand your frustration buddy.  These guys can be uncivilized at times when calling. they work on commission and that?s why they get frustrated and nasty. You have to understand that to be in such a position these callers are really  a bottom feeders and are scavengers among the dead. Dead accounts that is. So if they call, just tell them to have a nice day and hang up. Remember to have a nice one yourself.  And if they call you again, may go Wally?s rout.

I just got a call from a real jerk asking for some one else, I told him I am not this person. And that's when the Interrogation started and why he has my number. I really do not know why you have my number and are calling me asking for some one else.  So I told him to go and screw himself , and fd him and hung up. so he calls back and that?s when i really told him how I felt about him.

FYI:  Even If you owe money, and they do spend the time and money to get a judgment against you. it is worthless if they can not collect . and collection is the hardest part and is labor and very expensive. so the next time they call Just tell them : that you do not owe them or any one money . And with that statement by law, they have to stop calling and if feasible take you to court, where the collection issue rises up . so they simply will stop. and to the guy who called me on 949,,,,,,,,,, f u and your mommy too.

this company has called me from another phone number its 866-310-3882 i looked it up there saying its a scam why would they have two number sounds shady

I received a phone call from these people today, telling me charges have been filed against me for debt i never even had. I'm 21 years old, the only debt i have is student loans. I question her  (Mrs. Jones) further and realized they had all my information except my social security number was wrong. She then went on to ask for it. That's when i hung up and got on the phone with the Better Business Bureau.

you are right in one thing some of you have gotten call due to the fact that you got a new cell# and the previous owner didnt pay their bills. It sucks that you now get the calls but you already know that they arent calling for you. Now to the ones who actually dont pay their bills ....we call them professional debtors because they run up all kind of debt and dont pay what they owe and then try to cry harassment or try to sue the people who have been hired by the companies THEY  screwed over... how right is that??????? its not fair to the creditors. and debtors make it bad for everyone including me... they are reducing credit lines left and right due to people treating credit like its free $$$.

No, some of us don't owe anything and our cell phone numbers are attached to a previous owner who DOES owe something.  OR most of these calls are phishing calls, scam calls and people trying to solicit information from you.  Why do you think these sites and forums have so many similar experiences and responses?  We aren't scared to pick up the phone or not able to "man up" -- we are SMART.  Google any OPSEC guidelines and you will see it's better not to answer the phone and engage these people in any sort of conversation at all.

This company has made over 20 calls to my parents home # and my cell phone for someone who shares the same name as I do. So I told them today to bugger off. I do pay my bills on time and that is no excuse to be threatened because they are calling for someone else

I paid my bills even after my company went caput due to outsourcing and they called and threatened my family. SO UP YOURS!!!! They are a bogus company and I live in MO. I am going to be suing them for threats against my family.

You are such a jerk...they called my number today & asked for someone I don't even know.  You are so full of yourself.  If this WAS really legal you'd probably get a certified letter or summons or something.  Some people just like to SCAM others, or is scamming to you way out in left field?

Multiple postings with different names...kinda suspicious, eh?  At least I use my name.  If you "saved $3500.00", loser, you wouldn't be the subject of illegal calls from a fly-by-night agency.  Anyone who "saves" that much would be contacted by a reputable agency, not a bunch of losers posing as lawyers and law offices.  You're a little too obvious.

Now we know where you work, don't we?  If they had actually borrowed from a company, then maybe the company would have the right contact info, yeah?  Get a real job, and quit trying to con people.  BYW:  there is no such thing as debtor's prison in this country, so may you shouldn't try to mis-represent like you have some great legal power.  But, all you collectors who call looking for everyone under the sun with my last name, here is a legal shot for ya...don't know about every state, but in NM a certain number of calls to the wrong number constitutes legal harassment, and is subject to legal action from the person being harassed.  Follow the law, loser, or get sued and then maybe lose your job.  A reputable collection company expects a certain number of suits, and would consider it a cost of doing business, but with someone like you working there, I bet the number is way over the minimum.  Even losers get fired for screwing up a good company.

I googled this number to verify and found these posts .... well news to you guys ... "why am i not surprised" is correct.... you guys borrow money . just pay your bills, i called them back and they offered me a settlement on my account and i saved $3500.00 so to you deadbeats ...pay your god dam bills ... you are the ones that makes our goverment and country suffer because you live off the system. you are a bunch of low life people.
