thats a great idea... avoid the people you owe money to, thats great advice... let me send a c&d letter so the only option it leaves the people that are owed the money is to sue me. very rarely do i find people posting on these type of sites that are financially responsible or even halfway educated... its easy to just say im not gonna pay people i owe money to im just gonna bash them online and scumbag my way out of paying my debt... times are tough for a lot of people right now but it doesnt mean you need to be a j/o about money you know you owe...

Tabula Rasa International, is a third rate Collection Agency. They buy old 'paper' that's been charged off for pennies on the dollar.They then pretend to be 'attorneys' for the original creditor.
I received a call from a Rep there, who didn't even know what the supposed debt was! She first said Amex and then said, 'some sort of loan I think"! She then said that this was a last ditch effort before she took me to court and things got messy!

These people violate Federal laws under FDCPA.

i recieved a call from a phone number of 888-882-9846 about a bill and judgement that was from sprint.  i had not used sprint but my wife had prior to 2002. the woman on the phone said they wanted to settle ,the amount was over a thousand dollars. i asked for her to have the paper work for the debt sent to me. the woman became irrate. ithen got a male named Al Moser,he tood me that under federal law, they only had to keep the original paper work for six months after the judment. he said that the judment that contained the bill plus nine percent intrest, cout cost and attoney fees was$ 2010.21 and that i had to pay $250.00 down and $183.90 after the down for eleven months and that only a money gram was acceptable,and that i had to call him every month.he gave me a recieve code and a pay to tri,amherst ny. and account number, even though he originally said he was at tabula rasa.

it's amusing that I just got a call form them asking for my father who passed away  in 08- it's been more than 3 years,  how good can they be that they don't see any activity for  40 months and all his accounts have been closed?

Called several times sometimes from different phone numbers. They left a message for me or my legal representative to call their offices. Said I refused to cooperate with them and told me they would send the information to the Dallas County courts if I didn't cooperate and pay.  Mrs. Brammel left an urgent message this morning (9/14)to call her @ ext 134 or ask for Mr. Verhagen (?) @ x122.

They call and harass you. They can't get the correct information and try to get you to give them information that will help them convince you they are legit. You ask for information to be sent to you about the claim, but they will not send anything. BE CAREFUL, they are the worse SCUM. Don't give them any information at all.

I am receiving unwanted calls and request that they be stopped from this number.

my state wrong, the lady told me it's a scam since the letter came from out of state

I just want to let everyone know that this is in fact a legit Collection Agency and they do fallow the law.  I know because I worked there, and as far as anyone saying they were told they can say anything NO they weren't.  And they do have real people there to talk to, the dialer is just one method used to get a hold of the person in question to let them know there is an issue.  Also, finding out information on people is part of the job, and is used in a legal way.  To say the whole place is scum is wrong, there have been select few who I would say are but that's only because they couldn't care less to abide by the law.  They also have the legal right to pull up your credit report, although you might not like it. So to all the angry haters out there that are judging what they don't really know, Chill out!  Just a few people trying to earn a living by helping others to pay their debt.  You don't like it, don't get into debt in a way that will cause these phone calls!

They keep calling for someone that I have never heard of before
and will not believe that I am not them.
It is more than annoying.
It is harassment.
I have sent my letter as well and
have an appointment with the police tomorrow.
Because it is the same person that keeps calling my number;
I am going to try to file charges against him.

"Susan" from Tabula Rasa calls our business offices 4 times a day (on average) asking for a former employee's deceased spouse.   She refuted my claim that the person she is seeking has been deceased for 7 years stating "This is new information and can not be.".   I offered to email her a link to the story that our local paper ran on the death & the obituary but she refused the information saying she would "inform her supervisor".  However, this has not slowed her calls.  She still rings our office 4 times a day asking for a person of who's death she has been repeatedly informed.

Got my call at 9am this morning!  Called ID said "incoming call"...no kidding, the phone rang!  Recorded message stating they were not selling anything, but had an important message.  I was asked to call a "toll free" number...888-882-9846.  Obviously, as the "on birth certificate is not yesterday", I will not return the call.  Guess I am a new member to your club.

They fax a letter and have been calling me at work.  The fax was asking if I was a full time or partime;effective date of empolyment; name of person who would give this information; and my signature.

I dare them try in get information about me without out my premission.

I've been getting calls from this number for some time now. Most of the time I don't answer but on occasion I have just to see if I can make them go away.  My number is unlisted so I want to know who they are. They always ask for the same person and it's not me!  I have told them this at least 5 times.  Finally tried to press them and ask them who they were.  The caller, Jennifer wouldn't even tell me the name of the company.  I had to call the number back to find out they are called TRI.  They wouldn't answer any questions.  They said if I didn't have a file in their system they couldn't tell me!  I called 3 times and they hung up on me all 3 times. I Googled the number and the name TRI to find out who they are.  My suspicions about them were confirmed after reading the other posts here.  Not sure what I'll do next but if I get another call I will definitely call the state AG.

they are whats known as skip tracers.  They get paid tby people you may or may not owe money to to find out any info about you especially where you work.  How do I know this you ask??? I worked for them for 1 day until I realized what bottom feeding scum they are.  ignore it, they told us we could say ANYTHING we wanted to in order to get info.  ANYTHING.  I remember one guy had a poor woman crying because he told her that her husband was injured coming from work and got her to tell him where he worked so he could contact his employer and let him know.  SCUM.  ignore it, they have no power or legal recourse at all.

Got a call at 5:15 PM for my brother whom I live with and it was from Tabula Rasta International but did not show anything on the caller ID. The man stuttered and corrected himself alot. His name was Mr.Simmon, he said that "this matter had been forwarded up to the, Um, My floor for further review. It has been made clear to me that Mrs. Williams has made the terms and conditions clear to you on the offer so we could try to work out the obligation, please give me a call back as, um, I have to make an offer to the client tonight by, um, 900. So please call me at 1-888-882-9846 Ext139.." So other than sounding like a complete butt he needs to get his story straight before he calls... I think it may be a "collection company" that dont have a darn clue what they are doing... I refuse to answer calls I dont know!!!
