Thank you for posting this! I got a call from a Restricted number and I didn't answer. But they left a voicemail. They mispronounced my name and rattled off an address that was CLOSE to one of my previous. Seemed like she was unsure about the entire thing. I was going to call back at the number they left. (8889729954) But checked google first. All I did was type in that number and this popped up. Thank you so much for posting this!

Someone called me leaving the above number as a call back contact number.  In the message it basically said that there was a legal complaint about me and I had 24 hours to respond to avoid legal action.  I called, already pretty sure this was a scam, wanting to know exactly what the angle on this was.  The guy, exact same guy who left the message with a file number, acted like he had no idea what I wanted or why I was calling back.  He never once clearly stated the name of the supposed law firm, but enunciated corporate office very clearly.  I gave him the file number and he then used my full name.  I asked what the file was in reference to, and he pulled out a reference to a debt I incurred 8 years ago that had been settled 4 years ago.  I informed him this debt had been settled and he said if I could produce proof that he could resolve the issue.  Otherwise I owed 4x as much as what the original debt was.  He refused to mail me anything on this, saying "It's not worth the postage".  I told him he is legally required to send me a statement if he expects payment.  He responded with, I don't want you to pay me, I'm going to sue you in whatever state you're in and get the full amount.  I told him go for it...he promptly hung up at this point.  Scam all the way.
