I received the exact same thing from a Taylor.  I called back and asked for mailing address and fax number and they refused to give it to me.  She said I was on final notice and I told her she was on a recorded call and she said I should have told her that right away.  I told her I filed a complaint with the FTC and she wished me good luck and hung up on me.

My boyfriend was called by a lady named Taylor who said he owed 560.00. He called me very upset. I called the 1-888-995-1613 ext. 192 number back and spoke with Taylor again. She refused to give me the name or any information of who the loan was through. She said she needed 560.00 dollars by 3 o'clock yesterday. I told her to email or fax me a bill, she rudely refused. I asked to speak to a supervisor repeatedly and was told she was a paralegal and the only one there. She was rude and very combative and at one point called me "just the stupid girlfriend". Thank you for all y'all's post and I am calling back today and having a nice talk with Taylor.

Debt is a civil matter, not criminal - NO ONE is going to arrest you!  Report the calls to the FTC, the FBI and your state's Attorney General.  DO NOT pay them - they are obviously scammers trying to scare you.  Talk to your bankruptcy lawyer - I'm sure he'll also tell you they haven't got a leg to stand on and again - no one is going to be arrested.  If they call you again, tell them that the FBI is monitoring, recording and tracing all calls they make to you (this might get them to stop calling).

they did they same thing to me i just filed bankruptcy now they are demanding 150.00 from by june 27th or they will file charges and have me arressted.i dont know what to do

I filed bankruptcy and 2 week later received a phone call from this company to my husband's phone threatening criminal charges of attempt to defraud a financial institution for a Plain Green Loan I hadn't paid off a long time ago. He called me panicking. When I called them back, they advised me they were NOT collections, but that she was a paralegal in a law firm. She said I had 2 charges pending against me and asked if I had been served with a summons or been arrested yet. FLAT OUT LIES!!! She had the name of my bankruptcy attorney and knew I had filed, and was commiting an offense under the bankruptcy code. She said if I wouldn't work something out with her, she would go ahead and sign off on the papers for charges to be filed and I could explain to a judge why I didn't pay my loan. When I told her I was contacting my attorney, she said if I called back after initial contact, there was nothing she could do to help me and I would be charged. These people are DEBT COLLECTORS. My attorney said they were violating the code, and they can NOT file charges against me from another state. Even if they DID transfer my case to my state, they would have to convince a police dept. to file charges in which case they would be advised that this is civil. I am SO pissed, and plan on calling them back to give them a piece of my mind...under FTC laws, they are NOT allowed to harass and or/threaten you with criminal action or lie about who they are/the situation. They also aren't allowed to give ANY info regarding your debt to anyone else they call, trying to find you. BOTH OF WHICH THEY VIOLATED IN MY CASE!!! I would LOVE to file charges against this *you know what, just dont know that it would really matter and don't have time for it. ADVISE THEM TO NOT CALL YOU BACK OR DONT EVEN ANSWER THE PHONE, is what my attorney advised me. Don't answer any unavailable/800/888 numbers if you've filed bankruptcy. Why put yourself through that?

this number came up unknown but left a message saying call back immediate to take a statement its a debt collector when you call the # back its Landmark ligation they are some a***oles to be honest. I had fraud on my acct they have the company that did it and blaming me very rude and ignorant...I had turned the information over to an attorney if you get legal representation they will leave you alone they call my cell before it was my work with a different # don't trust them consult and advisor legal rep...or know your rights these people will try to get personal information just to bother EVEN WHEN THEY ARE WRONG!
