I don't know ! It was a really strange call !

I've received numerous phone calls from this company in the past week. They phone and begin their speech very quickly, attempting to blurt out that I qualify for a promotion from Bell Mobility.

However I have told them every single time that I am not interested and do not want to receive their phone calls. The first few times they hung up on me before I said the magic words, "Do not call list". However most recently I received two calls today alone and the phone call went from pushy to outright rude within a matter of seconds. The marketer on the other end of the phone quickly began to swear at me, saying things like "Son of a B***h", "Mother F***er" and "A**hole". I asked why he was swearing at me and he said it was because he did not like the way I was talking.

Whoever this is I highly doubt it is actually endorsed by Bell Mobility, chances are it is a scam to gain your personal information and/or credit card information. I'm currently looking for a way to report this company to either Bell or the authorities but I have very limited information. The phone number only shows as Unknown on my caller ID.

I got a call from them a few times and finally spoke to them the third time. A guy with an Indian accent told me about free phones from bell for $35. He proceeded to ask me personal info like my DOB and SIN which i wasn't comfortable giving and then he said if you don't believe me, I'll get my manager. I hung up the phone. He called a few other times but didn't leave a msg. I called Bell to complain about this rude service and gave them # on my caller ID. They said it's from Tennesse and that Bell doesn't have a promotion like this and it likely a scam!

Got a phone call today from a man with a very heavy indian accent who claims he is from Bell asking to speak with my father.  He said something about a promotion for a free phone.  He refused to provide me a contact number for my father to reach him with and started asking for my personal info (name, birth date, SIN and cr crd info) to see if I qualify for the promotion.  When I refused to provide the info he started getting rude and I hung up on him.  Sounds like a scam.

I just got a call.  Let the VM pick up.  A man with a heavy Indian accent asked for someone who doesn't live here.

got a call from this..  at first my phone showed it as unknown/unknown..  some east indian sounding like he barely got off the phone..  trying to sell me on bell mobility with a free phone.  Told him the person he was trying to reach (me) wasn't home.   He called back later with the 901 7775533    Why the hell do these damned companies always try and sell stuff with people you can BARELY understand? i must have asked him to repeat himself about 3 times on everything he was telling me.  Pathetic!!!!!    Welcome to America/Canada..   become a telemarketer, it pays well so you can ship the rest of your family over.  Grrrrr

Canadians can complain if the caller - regardless of where they are in the world, is representing a Canadian company.  I will be complaining directly to the CRTC because, in this instance it's a case of the fox guarding the hen house. Bell is responsible for maintaining the Do Not Call system here in Canada and yet, Bell mobility is apparently making calls from beyond the border. Nice one!

Got the call once yesterday, 3 today.  They say Bell Mobility and are going to give me a free phone.  One call got to the stage where free meant $35/month.

Yep, I just got a call here tonight. Didn't pick up - got our VM. You could just here some voices in the background, but no-one said anything on the machine, just hung up...

Ya, I'm in Canada and I got it, but I just ignored it because I don't know anyone living there...

Just got 2 calls from this number. They said something about Bell Mobility???  Sounds like a scam to me.  Would'nt waste any more time on them.

Just got a call from this number - 12:32 P.M. (P.S.T.).  I answered but no one was there.  Caller I.D. shows call originated from Tennessee.  Obviously the Federal Do-Not Call list doesn't work; at least not for American callers.  Anyone know whom we can complain to?

just got a call and foreign speaking man said it was Bell Canada.  Thought you might like to know

these guys call all the time.
this morning they called again and when I asked the caller to take me off their list, he laughed...
he laughed... WTF?!

I too received a call from this number at 9:00 am PST (Vancouver, BC area). The male person asked for my roommate & when I said that he wasn't home, the person hung-up.

My suggestion to everyone is to ask the person if they could hold-on for just a moment, & then simply don't come back to the phone for awhile (how long is up to you), this may serve to annoy/frustrate them enough that the result is that they don't call you again. Or, do some other thing to annoy/frustrate them so that they don't call again (like making an extremely loud continuous noise directly into the phone).

I just got a call at 4:19 AM! It said it was from Tennessee, although on my first read I thought it was Genessee, which is a local hospital here in Rochester, NY.  I'm not very happy.

I just received a call from this number. Didn't answer but, as always, I Googled it to see who it was and found this page.

The National Do Not Call list does not prevent all telemarketers from calling you. Some companies are exempted (i.e. charities, political parties during a campaign) and those you are considered to have an "existing business relationship" with (you may have signed up for something on-line and unknowingly given consent to be called). The list also doesn't prevent polling firms from calling because they aren't trying to "sell" anything.

I just got a phone call from the same number as well. It was regarding a free phone. I said I was not interested as I already a great deal with my current provider. I was then asked the same question about 4 times and had to repeat myself. I asked to speak with the manager, who in my opinion sounded exactly like the person I just spoke with. I complained and told them to take my number off their call list. We will see what happens..
