When I pick up, they hang up.

I got a call from 901-785-4074 identifying themselves as St. Jude's Children's Hospital in Memphis, TN.  It all sounded suspicious to me.  He was wanting me to fill out donation envelopes and mail them out.  However, after I thought about it I was concerned it was some type of scam.  I sent an email to St. Jude's however they have not responded.

Actually it makes sense its St. Judes. I made a donation awhile back and now they call me occasionally. What does not make sense is why they would not leave a message, maybe someone got hold of the donor list and is trying to scam people now.

I too got a phone call from this number.  It was at 4:00 in the afternoon.  I had made a donation to St. Jude's Hospital, but to our local branch.  

I just called that number and it is one of St. Jude's telephone numbers.

I too am on the DNC list.  Have gotten a call several times.  Thank for the information above.  I made a neighborhood contribution to St. Judes and now guess they want to contact me about ?what?  
I don't believe making a contribution should put you on a call list.  I did answer today and no one was there, seconds later they hung up. It would be polite if they ignore the DNC list to at least talk to you when you pick up the phone.  Maybe they don't read the DNC until after the phone rings?   And they should make their name available on caller ID.

Multiple calls daily, which I don't answer; some at odd hours -- very early or late.  Obviously a telemarketer or some sort of scammer.  Being on the DNC list apparently doesn't help.

I keep getting calls at all hours from 901-785-4074. I want them to stop, and I don't think that I should be called. I, too, am on the DO NOT CALL list. How do I stop this?

They called one day 4 times and always different times. I just re-registered with the do not call list and it doesn't help much.

3 calls,  some early on Sat. morning.  They do not leave a message and when I called the number back got an answering machine...sounded like an older woman saying she was unavailable.

I screen all my calls with an answering machine.  As soon as my message goes on, they hang up.  I get about three calls from this number every day.

I've received numerous calls from this number.  I never answered because I don't know anyone in this area code.  They would never leave a message.  I called the number and got the St. Jude's message that Nyia got (her comments on 9/13/07).  I requested to be removed from the list and got a response that my number would be removed within 30 days.  We shall see.  I am on the do not call list as well.

Hello, I received a call from 901-785-4074. I didn't recognize the phone number so I googled it. I came across this bulletin board.  After reading your comments I decided to call the number back. I got a recording. It was a mans voice saying, "Thank you for calling St. Jude's Research Hospital. We appreciate your support. Because of your help we have brought the survival rate for the most common form of childhood cancer to 90%. And thanks to generous supporters like you, we can make sure that no child is ever turned away because of the families inability to pay. We're very sorry we missed you, we will try to to reach you again in the next few days. If you would like to be removed from our calling list, please press one now."  I believe that if you don't want them to keep calling you, press one. It sounds like this is St. Jude's.  I just thought I would let you know what happened when I call them. Thank you.

Called at exactly 9:00 again today.  I didn't answer.  They left no message.

Rec'd message on answering machine from "Maddie" of St. Judes Childrens Hospital looking for a donation. Recording left another number of 800-822-6344 to contact them directly.

Called at 9:00 am today. Doesn't say anything. Just hangs up.

Woman's voice repeated my hello then line went to dial tone so I assume it is from a land line.

Called yesterday (Friday) and today (Saturday). Doesn't say anything. Just hangs up.

Received a call from 1-901-785-4074, Roberts J claiming to be from St. Jude Hospital. NOT! Please..... The most unprofessionally telemarketer yet. Rude!So, I hung up and called the number back and was ever so fortunate to hear a recording stating that "sorry I missed your call, but I will call you back.....a St. Jude recording." Beware.....I can't imagine St. Jude behind these calls.

Called at around 2:00 CST.  When I answered there was no one there.  Came up as J. Roberts as ID.  Will use my resources to do some tracking...

This person has called my home a number of times --very vague. Call the number back and got a child who changed stories.

I got the same call, from a woman. She left a message " Mrs. S, Mrs S hello are you there"  As if this was someone who knew me.  Not the first time i've gotten a call from her.  I also am on The do not call list. HA

I just got a call from the same number with the same hang up.

Received a call from 901-785-4074 at 9:25am Saturday morning, which I consider to be too early for solicitors or telemarketers to be calling.  I answered the phone and said hello, which I immediately recognized that it was a solocitor since they didn't immediately answer, and I promptly hung up.  I looked up the area code and it came from the Memphis, TN area, and I do not know anyone who lives there. (Maybe it was Elvis?!)  So I'm assuming it must have been a telemarketer of some kind.  And I've got my number on the Do-Not-Call List !  Looks like I'll have to re-submit my number.
