I dont even get an offer! They call and hang up when I say hello! A holes always call during naptime too waking up the toddlers!

BUT, how many times are you going to keep calling after we tell you we are NOT interested!

It takes like than 30 seconds to pick up the phone and say you're not interested.

Are you really that busy?
And if you are, you shouldn't be answering the phone anyway.

Chill out. These people are just trying to make a living. It's not easy doing what they do, and you don't make it any easier.

What I don't understand, is why they are calling ONTARIO for a NOVA SCOTIA newspaper?! Boggles my mind.

Really think any of us are stupid enough to believe you?  All of us are on the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT DO NOT CALL LIST.  SO why doesn't your "company" honor  that list.  It's only be out there for years and years!

I currently work for macinnis marketing. The guy above is obviously just mad because he got fired.(Who wouldn't be. It's understandable)
We are a little call center here in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. There are about 10 people that work in the office. We do promotional offers for the Chronicle Herald. We also call with trial packages for about 13 papers in Ontario and 1 in Alberta.
There is nothing devious about what we are doing. A lot of people actually look forward to us calling because they know they are going to get a good deal on their local news paper.

The "one fellow" that guy above is talking about in the post above used to have a puff of weed at break.
He was asked not to and has never done so again. Not all people that smoke weed are bad people.
He is defiantly a good person. One of the nicest people I have ever met.

We are all very friendly and if you do not wish to be called again just say "Put me on your do not call list" We then fill out a forum with your name # and address. We do this all by hand so it is important to let us get all the info before hanging up. If we are unable to get all the info it is hard to put you on the in office do not call list.

Most of us also have a real good since of humor.  If you want to take our call as a opportunity to crack a good joke. We are OK with that. Some of the best jokes I know have been told to me by people over the phone.

they have many phone#s they call from i used to work for them very unprofessional company if you ask to be takin off the call list the owner makes a fuss,they for the herald plus ontario papers,this company has pay cheques bounce,their power was turned off at one time plus their phones, and to top it all off there is one fellow who works there taht uses drugs he goes outside on breaks and lights up the pipe, do you really want these people valling you to sell you the herald i would not give my banking info or c,card info to these people they have recorders that record your call but you dont know that because they dont tell you that its not right all your info you give the sales person is kept and loaded on the owners computer be careful of this company macinnis marketing.

me too i hate that ..time to delete them with a simple call and a s**t storm of quit calling me or ill start a blog on your company and how they are very annoying lol...then maybe instead of increasing buisness they will start to lose buisness ....

I was receiving these phone calls as well.
I shot the Herald an email the other day explaining I no longer want to be called and was so glad to see that the National Do Not Call list is working as it should.  I received an email back saying I've been removed from their call list.  At least now if I keep receiving the calls I have a paper trail showing that I requested to be removed and they acknowledge removal of my number.

its the halifax chronical herald i ust got a call form that number and when i called it back said 6 months 45% off cover price lmao!

They called me - I did a Google search and found this page so I thought I would add my comment.

They called this morning from  902-435-9565 while I wasn't home.  Caller ID also shows MacInnis Marktg.
